CONCEPTUAL DESIGN EXPERIENCE



Hotopp Associates was founded in 1984 by Michael J. Hotopp, whose award-winning career in entertainment design spans more than 30-years. Since our inception, the company’s principal philosophy has been to create environments, events, and attractions that are visually distinctive, technically innovative, user-friendly, and memorable. Hotopp Associates has television design credits that include all major network and cable broadcast outlets (5 Emmy nominations, 3 wins). Corporate presentations include Fortune 500 companies in the areas of automotive, pharmaceutical, and technology. Entertainment design credits include Broadway, Off Broadway, national and international touring companies, Radio City Music Hall’s Christmas Spectacular, Las Vegas, and Shoji Entertainment in Branson, MO. Current exhibit credits include Diana: A Celebration, The Basketball Hall of Fame, and Gaylord Entertainments “Ice!” in Nashville, Texas, and Orlando. For each project, the company’s dynamic group of concept designers, art directors, graphic designers, sketch artists and fabricators work in a constant, close partnership with clients to help them achieve and surpass all expectations.


ICE! HOLIDAY ATTRACTIONS GAYLORD HOTEL RESORTS:

Hotopp Associates in partnership with Marriott Hotels designs world renowned annual holiday ice attractions for Gaylord Hotels and Resorts. When Hotopp started designing ice attractions in 2001 we never imagined that over fifteen years our team would grow to design and implement four to six ice attractions a year all over the world. From concept design to art direction we bring these attractions to life,

transforming a traditional folk art into a high end immersive experience for hundreds of thousands of visitors annually. Hotopp has worked with many of the worlds most iconic holiday brands to adapt their established narratives for ice attractions. Partners have included DreamWorks, Classic Media, Dr. Seuss, and Peanuts.





THEMED RETAIL ATTRACTION BASS PRO SHOP:

Multiple Retail Locations, USA

Hotopp Associates in partnership with outdoor retailer Bass Pro Shop re-imagines how customers experience outdoor retail environments. With Bass Pro Shop Hotopp Associates developed several concepts for an attraction that would enhance their guest retail experience. Hotopp designed an on brand family entertainment experience to transport shoppers from traditional big box store

experiences to holistically themed recreational environments. Hotopp envisioned spaces such as a giant underwater swamp walk-through and a wild forest ATV ride. By bringing the gap between Bass Pro Shops’ existing retail spaces and the recreational environments its customers identify with Hotopp associates explored ways to elevate customer experience and engagement.



TREE OF LIFE INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL EXCHANGE GROUP:

Sacramento, CA

Hotopp Associates designs iconic interactive outdoor sculptures for International Cultural Exchange Group. For International Cultural Exchange Group (ICEG) Hotopp Associates developed an iconic centerpiece entitled “The Tree Of Life” for ICGE’s fifteen acre multicultural outdoor festival. As the iconic centerpiece for such a large outdoor festival the design team at Hotopp had to think big. Really BIG! At more

than eighty feet tall with design features such as interactive internal LED lighting, responsive animated characters, and transforming iconic symbols of every season the tree is designed to be the signature image of this attraction. Through a playful design solution brought to life in overwhelming scale Hotopp associates provided an experience to illuminate the imaginations of visitors of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures.



OCEAN KINGDOM PARADE CHIMELONG OCEAN KINGDOM:

Zhuhai, China

Hotopp Associates conceptualizes a parade experience for Chimelong’s Ocean Kingdom in Zhuhal, China. Chimelong’s Ocean Kingdom opens with a signature daytime parade. Hotopp Associates conceptual designs spanned the globe and traveled through time, telling the story of man’s continual exploration of the sea. Deigns using whimsical characters, lovable sea creatures, energetic dancers, and musicians enhance

each designs theme and message. Hotopp’s design team thought through even the smallest details to ensure that from every vantage point the parade float designs exemplify Ocean Kingdom message while enhancing the party like atmosphere with a wink of humor and a huge dose of fun.
