PORCELAIN BURIAL A NEW TYPE OF FUNERAL PROCESS AND SPACE NARRATION
Narrative vessel - Funeral ceremony space design Experimental architecture Time: Winter 2019 Instructor: Lifeng Lin Individual Work
This program is an experimental space research, through the use of narrative logic to complete the discussion and research on the three established relationships of architectural form, space organization and users in a given vessel. Redefine and create a spatial form based on the relationship between the vessel, the narrative and the protagonist.
I chose the pottery kilns and factories of Stoke-on-Trent as the vessel for the design, and pave the way for the subsequent narrative content and space design. The 19th century was the heyday of Stoke’s ceramic industry, and Stoke was the porcelain capital of England. The specialty bone china there is crystal clear because it is made of calcium carbonate from animal bones. But in the following 100 years, the decline of the manufacturing industry brought about the decline of the ceramic industry. The remaining ceramic factories are no longer put into use, and there is no glorious scene of the year.
2/ Left
Based on the vessel and background, I propose a new form of funeral, in order to make full use of the leftover buildings, and at the same time solve the problem of the high cost of death in the UK. Use the calcium carbonate of the deceased human bones to make bone china souvenirs to commemorate the deceased, so that the living can feel the deceased is still with them. The demise of life is actually a new beginning. This is the birth of a “new life”, and it is also a spiritual eternity. At the same time, I hope that the architecture will become a bridge between the living and the deceased, so that it can entrust the missing of the living and the life value of the deceased can continue. And finally realize the spiritual dialogue between the two.

THE NARRATIVE CONCEPT
ANALYSIS OF MOVIE NARRATIVE LOGIC In the 19th century The 19th century was the heyday of Stoke's ceramic industry, and Stoke was the porcelain capital of England. The specialty bone china there is crystal clear because it is made of calcium carbonate from animal bones. But in the following 100 years, the decline of the manufacturing industry brought about the decline of the ceramic industry. The remaining ceramic factories are no longer put into use, and there is no glorious scene of the year.
The movie "Run Lola Run" has an obvious plate structure, and the narratives of the three stories are independent. However, there is a very close logical relationship in the theme, characters, plot and other elements, and the same theme content is explained and expressed from different angles.
FICTION In the Unknown Century Based on the vessel, I propose a new form of funeral, in order to make full use of the bottle oven, and solve the problem of the high cost of death in the UK. Use the calcium carbonate of the deceased human bones to make bone china souvenirs to commemorate the deceased, so that the living can feel the deceased is still with them. The architecture will become a bridge between the living and the deceased, so that it can entrust the missing of the living and the life value of the deceased can continue.

When we arrived at the place where the farewell ceremony was held, we listened to the eulogy from the pastor and observed a minute of silence for John.

We walked around John's body and looked at him for the last time. Because later, his bones will be burned into bone china. As his relatives and friends, we will witness this special funeral together. I Looked up and saw the light pouring through the wooden pillars into the ceremony space.

3. LIFE AND DEATH INTERVAL 09:10 At the end of the farewell ceremony, I slowly walked up the spiral staircase to the middle of the “vessel”. The atmosphere became a little serious, and I fell into contemplation.

The three circular spaces are for the living, and the voids in the surrounding walls are for the souls of the dead. For the living who are participating in the farewell ceremony, they are inaccessible. From here, life and death began to separate. The annular space sometimes intersperses with the hollow of the wall, here is the final dialogue with the undead.

John was sent into this alien crematorium and burned. The ashes are cooled and filtered, mixed with clay and water to form a slurry and placed in a mold. Then, it is dried, glazed, sintered and cooled. The priest gave the birth bone china a ceremony and entrusted it to us. We met again with “new John”.

RE-GATHERING SYRIA Music as model- Post-war reconstruction projects in Aleppo Architectural Design Time: Autumn 2019 / Competition Location: Allepo , Syria Instructor: Le Luo Individual Work
Construction is a game of reason and art. In this project, music units the history, environment and architecture, and a beautiful new memory is constructed on top of the memory of the original site. This is an exploration to the place through the overlay of memory.
12/ Left
The chosen site is located on the south side of the Grand Serail in the ancient Syrian city Aleppo, which is right on top of the ruins of a building destroyed by the war. For the Syrian people, the local infrastructure is inadequate, menawhile, they need to have a happy space mentally to heal the wounds brought by the war. To inspire them to have the confidence in the future of life for mental is the LOHAS space I want to create.
I chose the Clair de Lune from Debussy, this is a piano piece that describes the people with a picture of silence and moonlight, which is full of poetry. I hope that through the music, they are able to forget the pain, and be positive and happy. First of all, we translated the overall emotional rhythm and pitch changes of the music piece, as well as the dance moves corresponding to the music, into a plan for the total plane.
In the Syrian war, I found a young pianist who played the piano to inspire the local people and alleviate their pain of the war, and the inhabitants gathered together to listen to the pianist without calling. Therefore, I want to put the music as an element to connect the local refugees, happiness and architecture. Architecture is a container for music and a happy life.
The building as a whole repairs the ruins in a low-key manner, it coexists with the restored important historic buildings. The arch is unique to the local architecture, hoping to bring the surrounding residents a greater sense of belonging here. I hope that it is able to achieve the coincidence with the castle, the historic buildings, and people’s memories in time and place, and become a new place memory. Right

- UN estimates the Syrian conflict has killed at least 220,000 people. -Russia begins launching air strikes in Syria in support of Assad’s forces.
-The Syrian War had a weeklong break from the war. -The people of Syria hoped that this would put a stop to the war.
The cost of war cannot be quantified, but the price that Syria has to pay now is much more than it can afford. In fact, as the residents are now returning from their refugee camps to their dilapidated homes - the daily life they used to live is totally impaired.

The function shall be derived by putting people first instead of a political approach, of the immediate locality. This attempt of a qualitative blend with needs on ground will benchmark all the upcoming architecture in the immediate place and sow new seeds of hope in Syria. Right

VISUALIZE THE MUSIC
CONNECT THE PAST AND THE FUTURE WITH MUSIC COLLAGE : RE-CREATION OF GUERNICA My collage was inspired by the war imagery in Picasso's <guernica>. The monochrome part shows the pain of the war to the refugees, while the warm color in the middle expresses that music can bring spiritual happiness to the local people,to soothe the war wounds, and inspire their future life. And architecture is just the container for music and their happy life after the war.
I chose the Clair de Lune from Debussy, this is a piano piece that describes the people with a picture of silence and moonlight, which is full of poetry. I hope that through the music, they are able to forget the pain, and be positive and happy. RIPPLE ON THE SEA A push before the last drop runs out - Desalination museum Architectural Design Time: Summer 2019 / Competition Location: Istanbul, Turkey Instructor: Le Luo Individual Work
Water and its importance is well known, still we have been disconnected from it in urban realms. Water isomnipresent and yet visually hidden while it flows through a dense network below the surface. Lack of interactionwith water in such circumstances has lead us to having no perception at all.
Water is a crucial element to our existence, yet this disengagement is ironic. Global water crisis was reinforced by rapid urbanization, which might be one of the reasons of its decreasing value. How can we trigger a sense of value that is almost disregarded in our daily lives? How can we find new ways to connect with water in our public spaces while acknowledging its limited supply ? Building on these questions, the design is to propose a model urban landscape architecture that help visitors experience the seawater desalination process while interacting with the water, and sensitize them to understand how crucial water as a resource is and promote a better sense of consumption and conservation within them.

Istanbul
Istanbul has intertwine its traditions rich in cultural heritage with water through centuries. Water has not only shaped the culture but also the city’s architectural language at large. With a growing population of close to 15 million, lstanbul is stated to become Europe’s most populous metropolitan area. Meeting water demands in such circumstances is now a challenge for the local authorities leading to a posible water crisis in the city.

THE EXPERIMENT OF CHINESE PAINTING Translation of traditional Chinese landscape painting - Urban renewal design of Daijiaku plot Urban planning & Architectural Design Time: Summer 2020 Location: Nanjing, China Instructor: Junhong Hao Group work (Design, Model, Rendering, Technical drawing:80%)
This design tried to achieve retaining the architectural temperament of the modern architecture to stand with the region characteristics, and through abstracting the historical and cultural connotation, it tried to complete the urban planning and monolithic architectural design in the landscape area.
Taking the urban design and monolithic architectural design of the “Daijiaku” plot in the Qixia landscape area of Nanjing as an example, this design has explored the possibility of urban design and the monolithic architectural design under the urban historical landscape area. It tried to achieve retaining the architectural temperament of the modern architecture to stand with the region characteristics, and through abstracting the historical and cultural connotation.

“Picture of Qixia Mountain”, a painting from the Ming Dynasty painter Zhang Hong, described a true depiction of the quaint and elegant Qixia Mountain style during the Ming Dynasty. The inspiration for our design comes from it. We hope to be able to reflect the beauty of the landscape through the elevation differences between the buildings in this case, as well as the overlap of the layers, and the creation of landscape, greening, and water systems, reflecting the beauty of the artistic conception in landscape painting.

POI Categories: Accommodation services Subclass: Hotels
There are many small and mediumsized enterprises in the surrounding area, and the office space is only about 240,000 square meters, which is obviously insufficient.
The existing commercial layout is fragmented and the service scope is small. The introduction of commercial complex can solve the needs of the surrounding residents.
Existing hotels are scattered and poorly equipped. The future market size of passenger flow here is large. More hotel land should be used for the construction of boutique hotels.

At the same time, I hope to endue this space with very avant-garde functions (VR experience), so as to realize the collision and combination between the inner beauty of traditional culture and modern lifestyle. This space is not a simple indoor amusement park. It is also different from the traditional exhibition space. It also requires multi-disciplinary integration. Each stall on either side of the walkway has its own complete and unique theme for visitors to experience on their own. Right
