Week one my first design studio. I must say this is all very new to me and I’m not quite sure of what’s going on. The artifact I chose is my Cannon AE1 SLR Camera, it was the first camera I owned. In it’s bare bones form the camera has a simple design, I added a half of a rib cage to give a underline effect of having bare bones .
Gesture drawings have opened a new and creative way of expressing design intentions and uncovering hidden design potentials. This weeks iteration was constructed from the use of gesture drawings. The one problem that occurred was the “Gap between mind and hands�.
As I move forward in developing my design language I realize having information in my designs promote its story as a journey. In this iteration I used the metaphoric representation of information a camera captures to help promote a transformation in my composition .
This iteration was a big break trough for me I found by using audio and visual stimuli I was able to create a story within my model. My main focus was to have grate organization while obliqueing the model.
Exploring space and form . We are all intrigued by space and the unknown. By have a transforming spiral upward I found that this promoted a heroic ascend into the havens.
The ever changing path we take was the inspiration for this model.
