Anna & Jac

Jac kept it simple with a nice suit from Hackett – a very easy shopping experience! We had five bridesmaids (Cara, Jac’s sister and my three best friends), two page boys and a flower girl. The boys, Jasper and Felix, had a kilt/ trousers made in the Maitland tartan and our cavapoo, Winnie, who was part of the day, had a co-ordinating bow!

The night before the wedding we had separate dinners with our extended families and the wedding morning was full of noise and laughter with everyone popping in as I was getting ready… Absolutely perfect!

After we married in the church, we all went to Crathes to celebrate and Truly Medley Deeply played an acoustic set in the garden. Both Cara and I had a photo of our dad with a sign that said ‘Have a dram with the Big Man’ – the idea was for everyone to have a whisky with him.

I had a vague idea of what I wanted to wear but went to Perfect Bridal Rooms to try on all shapes and styles. It was so special to do it with my sister and mum, although mum was definitely emotionally exhausted after seeing both of us trying on dresses together!

Our meal was great – big sharing plates of meat, all cooked on a smoker outside. The speeches were brilliant and hilarious with my brothers doing one in place of my dad (mum had walked me down the aisle).

We danced to Is This Love by Bob Marley before a little ceilidh then music from our band who were unbelievable. That was my wedding highlight – pure love and happiness on the dancefloor all night.

Reflecting on the planning experience, I’d tell other couples to take time to enjoy the lead up. You can get bogged down in the small details so make an effort to enjoy each other too!” ♥
