GENERAL INFORMATION

5 / WINE & DINE Adelaide is the gateway to many world-renowned wine regions including the Barossa, McLaren Vale and Clare Valley; cultivating a good grape is something they do extremely well. As well as a decent tipple, the South Australians are well respected for their excellent food. Locally sought produce is an important aspect of their famed food scene, with Adelaide’s premier bars, restaurants and eateries all putting an emphasis on produce that’s made by artisans in the region. The Adelaide Central Market is a must, one of the largest undercover fresh produce markets in the Southern Hemisphere - if not for the gooey cheese stalls, then definitely the molten fountain of chocolate!

4 / MELBOURNE’S FAMOUS LANEWAYS Melbourne’s hive of bustling laneways, with their covert boutiques, famed restaurants, hole-in-the-wall cafés and astonishing bars are always exciting. If a tiny laneway isn’t hiding a boozy den or caffeine lair, you’re likely to find colourful street art. More secret artwork can be uncovered in the galleries of Guildford Lane or duck into lofts showcasing independent exhibitions. With shops selling streetwear and bespoke footwear, soak up the diversity and ride away with a takeaway coffee from a little-known café.

6 / TO MARKET TO MARKET Vibrant culture, irresistible food, unique gifts and endless bargains and you can find this at Paddy’s Market Sydney, Queen Victoria Market Melbourne, Adelaide Central Market and Salamanca Market Hobart – all are unique in their own way! Pick up a jam donut or find supplies for a simple picnic or an extravagant banquet, listen to the hawker cries and grab some lunch whilst listening to the sweet tunes of the buskers. Browse aisles of fresh produce and endless glass cabinets of heavenly deli goods, as well as organic wines, freshly brewed coffee and baked treats. Best of all, the stallholders’ spruiking and bargaining is great theatre!
