For an authentic Japanese experience and powder, Myoko Kogen is top of the list. One of Japan’s best hidden secret, Myoko is relatively untouched by the Western market. With an annual snowfall of 13 metres (42ft) there is definitely no shortage of snow and the perfect powder - a free-riders paradise!

One of the oldest traditional ski resorts in Japan, receives a generous 12 metres (39ft) of snow annually. For many the drawcard of this village is its cobblestoned streets and steaming hot springs. Nozawa Onsen is ideal for immersing yourself in the culture and experiencing a Ryokan - a traditional Japanese inn.
A small Swiss rural village and one of Switzerland’s best kept secrets. If you are after a laid back, authentic town with cobblestoned streets, fabulous off piste skiing , spectacular scenery and a real rural Swiss village then look no further.
RECOMMENDED If travelling to Nozawa Onsen in January a definite highlight is the Dosijin Fire Festival held on the 15th. A festival that celebrates the health and growth of first born sons. Lots of fire, fireworks and sake to be enjoyed.

Mt Hood Skibowl features not only the most black diamond runs in Oregon but at night it turns into the USA’s largest night skiing area with 34 fully lit ski runs.
