Tedious daily chores have been simplified by technology. Today, we have washing machines, dishwashers, vacuum cleaners, food processors, microwaves, etc. to ease our domestic tasks.
Reasons why couples fight so much over domestic chores:-
Traditional Gender Roles Not Applicable There is a rise in the number of non-traditional families. Hence, gender roles are not exactly applicable. There are families with single parents, same-sex couples, or elder siblings looking after younger ones. Hence, conventional male and female tasks cannot be defined.
Household chores lead to arguments Since both partners are usually pursuing careers, arguments pertaining to housework are prevalent. This is because both the partners are exhausted and irritable.
Compromise Difficult The feeling between partners is that the other partner isn't pulling their weight. This makes it difficult to compromise.
