n outrage against decency -- the kidnapping of over 270 young girls in northeastern Nigeria by the Islamic terrorist group Boko Haram -- has brought Nigeria international attention, however unwanted. The U.N. Security Council voted unanimously to hold Boko Haram accountable for crimes against humanity. Michelle Obama voiced her outrage at the grotesque kidnappings. The U.S., China, and Britain sent advisors to help locate and free the little girls. The protests inside Nigeria -- led significantly by grieving mothers -- have received international attention. Moslem religious leaders from Saudi Arabia to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation have condemned the kidnappings. The Nigerian government has belatedly begun to respond, with President Goodluck Jonathan announcing that he hoped that the “kidnap of these girls will be the beginning of the end of terror in Nigeria.” The popular

he Bring Back Our Girls Project Houston & the Queens Support Queens Interactive Series joins together and unites with the world-wide support to bring our girls back safe and sound. On April 15th, 300 girls went missing after a group of Islamic militants, a.k.a. Boko Haram, stormed into a high school and took the girls captive. Some escaped but over 200 girls remain missing. A girls’ education is one of the best investments the world can make and the Bring Back Our Girls Project Houston & the Queens Support Queens Interactive Series needs your support to take a stand. Unique James, Liaison for Ife Oluwa School in Lagos says, “It’s unfortunate what has happened and my sincerest thoughts are with the families of the missing young girls. It’s a frightening world when something as simple as wanting to get an education can be stripped away from you abruptly. I support the Bring Back Our Girls Project Houston & the Queens Support Queens Interactive Series in their efforts to rally and raise funds to help The American Woman’s Club of Lagos support scholarships and the Ife Oluwa Maternity Clinic and Nursery/Primary School, and I know the approximately 300 babies delivered here annually will appreciate it too.”

An Outrage Against Decency revulsion has yet to be translated into action on the ground, and even that is not sufficient. The U.S. should use this moment not simply to help bring back the kidnapped young girls, but to also bring forth a comprehensive U.S. policy towards Nigeria. In many ways, the global reaction to this tragedy seems like a throwback to the days of the Cold War. Then, Africa would get attention only when there were reports -- often distorted -- of communist infiltration or communist insurgencies. Only when threatened would sub-Saharan African countries sneak into the newspapers or pierce the consciousness of the White House, much less the American public. This neglect is costly. Nigeria is not simply a poor African country plagued by Moslem terrorists who kidnap little girls. It is a country of 170 million people, one fourth of the population of Sub-Saharan Africa. It is a vital cog in security across Africa, dispatching more troops on peacekeeping missions than any other nation in the world. This year, Nigeria was recognized as the largest economy in all of Africa. It is the largest producer of oil in Africa, and the world’s fourth leading exporter of liquid natural gas. Europe is the largest importer of its oil. For decades, it supplied the U.S. with about 10 percent
of its oil, and now that number is down to about 5 percent as U.S. production expands at home. Its economy is increasingly sophisticated and diversified, with services providing an ever-higher percentage of GDP. It has 120 million cell phone subscribers. Nollywood -- its burgeoning movie industry -- is now ranked at about 1.5 percent of its economy and employs over a million people. The size of the economy would earn it membership into the G-20, or other major international bodies. Nigeria is the second highest recipient of U.S. investment in Africa. And an estimated 1.5 million Nigerians and Nigerian Americans live in the US. It also has the highest number of people living in extreme poverty -- $1.25 a day or less -- in Africa. It has a democratically elected government, but one that has been plagued by corruption. The kidnappers of the girls, Boko Haram, pose a growing threat. Violence in the isolated and impoverished northeast is spreading. Boko Haram indicts the government for corruption and violence. It promises to enforce Sharia law across the territories. To date this year, according to United Nations figures, Boko Haram has killed more than 1,500 people. It is well funded, well organized and deadly. It will take significant international assistance and coordi-
nation to root it out. Providing assistance in trying to save the kidnapped girls is beneficial. But the U.S. needs to have a far more comprehensive policy towards Nigeria -- and sub-Saharan African in general. Nigeria is far more important to us than Ukraine is. Yet the U.S. government is fixated on Ukraine, and relatively disengaged from Nigeria. We should not need the threat posed by Boko Haram to make us realize the importance of Nigeria. Isolating and crushing Boko Haram, while engaging and helping to build Nigeria, should be a centerpiece of U.S. policy and attention. You can write to the Rev. ow many of you realize the significance of May 17, 1954? As we recently recognized the 50th Anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, many of us thought about where we were on November 22, 1963. However between August, 2013 through May, 2014, three days should be noted because of events that changed the history of this country and the lives of many individuals, including this individual. I know that we recognized two of them, but what of the third? Maybe I do, because I lived it, starting in 1960. August 28, 2013, marked the 50th Anniversary of the “March on Washington,” the 50th Anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy was this past November, and at 12:52 PM eastern standard time on Saturday, May 17, 2014, I will marks the 50th Anniversary of the announcement by Chief Justice Earl Warren of the judgment and opinion of the Supreme Court of the United States of America in Oliver Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka; a decision came with tremendous hope for the future. With all deliberate speed meant that it was almost 10 years between that decision and the desegregation of school in the capital city Louisiana, Baton Rouge. A forecast of things to come. On August 28, 1963, I was fixed in front of my family’s black and white television set watching all of the speeches given during the March on Washington. I heard King’s speech, and that speech had a significant impact on me, probably because of the

n recognition of National Small Business Week, Wells Fargo is partnering with the National Urban League and the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) to host a series of small business seminars and workshops nationwide. The workshops—including business resource fairs—provide attendees with information on the following topics: starting a business, access to capital, advice for young entrepreneurs, marketing, and social media strategies. The program is part of Wells Fargo’s annual Small Business Appreciation Celebration. Collectively, Wells Fargo has supported the National Urban League and the USHCC for more than a decade by providing programmatic support, funding and resources for members and constituents. As part of its relationship with USHCC, Wells Fargo and the USHCC Foundation offer the Chamber Training Institute (CTI) to chamber leaders throughout the year. The Chamber Training Institute series is held in six cities every other month throughout the year, and it offers executive level, two-day trainings in partnership with the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business and the support of Wells Fargo. “At the National Urban League, we aim to provide businesses owned by people of color with the tools, guidance and resources needed to help them

environment I had been exposed to between 1960 to 1963. I knew most of the speakers, because many of them came to Baton Rouge because of Rev T. J. Jemison, noted civil rights leader and Southern University. Many of them came to the campus to speak, Martin Luther King, Muhammad Ali, known at that time as known Cassias Clay just to name a few. Some stopped by Southern University Laboratory School, considered at that time the premiere school for young Negroes to attend. For me to attend Southern Lab, I had to catch a private bus that picked up college students. There were no school buses that went to Southern Lab. There was no transportation for the college students other these private buses you paid a monthly fee to ride. Since I was at the beginning of the route in the subdivision known as Mayfair Park, I was among the first to be picked up and one of the last to be dropped off. At the tender age of 10, I was the only one under the age of 17 and boy did I got quite an education. I was made aware of the critical issue of the day, civil rights. I am not saying that I understood everything, but it was hard to ignore the discussions that took place on the way to school, waiting on campus until the college classes were over, and then the ride home. These centers enable minority entrepreneurs to take advantage of new business opportunities and qualify for financing that will lead to high-level business growth through the provision of proper management skills. “We are very pleased to partner with Wells Fargo and the National Urban league on this nationwide effort. As the nation’s leading advocate for 3.2 million Hispanic-owned businesses, the USHCC recognizes the benefits such coalition-based initiatives provide for all American businesses,” said USHCC President & CEO Javier Palomarez. “We are delighted with the planned activities. BOOK REVIEW Debbie Doesn’t Do It Anymore

ou need to change things up. A new sense of style is called-for, a new job, new digs, maybe a new outlook on everything. Out with the old, in with the new, different, exciting. Your old life isn’t working for you these days and that goes doubly for Debbie Dare. In the new book “Debbie Doesn’t Do It Anymore” by Walter Mosley, it’ll be time for a change – if she survives. The day that Debbie Dare learned of her husband’s death had started out like any other: she went to work, naked, on her back, and wished her co-star would hurry up as she feigned passion for yet another porn film. But there was no faking her surprise when she arrived home at the end of the day and found the front yard filled with cops. The housekeeper had found Debbie’s husband, Theon, dead. He’d accidentally electrocuted himself in the bathtub – along with a naked teenager who was apparently auditioning for Theon’s films. Debbie supposed she loved Theon. He didn’t beat her. They were as compatible as was possible, but he spent too much money – a fact that was underscored when a loan shark showed up at the door, hours after Theon’s death, and demanded that Debbie pay up on the money Theon borrowed. It was the last straw. Once upon a time, Debbie Dare was known as Sandra Peel. She was her parents’ only daughter, the middle child of three, and she was wild. At fifteen, she was working on her knees in a parking lot, which was where she met the much-older Theon and

dustry for what it was. The only passion she had was for a “handsome man” named Suicide, “all silence and smiles” and urges to die... You know those old black-&-white war movies, where soldiers try to outrun exploding artillery shells? This book is something like that: it’s run-run-BOOM, run-run-BOOM all the way to the end of “Debbie Doesn’t Do It Anymore.” And that’s quite a surprise: Debbie Dare is no Easy Rawlins, and she’s not Socrates – two things that every fan of author Walter Mosley will want to know. There are hints of both of Mosley’s most famous characters, but this book is much more explicit than his past few novels. That’s not a bad thing, once you get into the heart of this most excellent story but it definitely bears mentioning – especially if profanity isn’t your cup of tea. If you don’t mind X-rated scenes, though, and you need your Mosley fix, then this is the book you need to find. For you, “Debbie Doesn’t Do It Anymore” will surely be a big change. When the loan shark sold his debt to an L.A. mobster, Debbie was given an ultimatum: pay up or act again, a choice that she wasn’t going to make. She suddenly saw the porn in-

2014 Chevrolet Malibu: Mainstreaming Stop/Start Technology
AUTO
2014 Chevrolet Malibu
T
he 2014 Chevrolet Malibu arriving in dealerships this fall will be the first midsize sedan sold in the U.S. to offer fuel-saving stop/start technology standard on its 2.5L base model. The Malibu has an EPA-estimated 25 city and 36 highway mpg – a 14 percent improvement in city fuel economy – at a starting price of $22,965, including an $825 destination charge but excluding tax, title, and license and dealer fees. Stop/start technology helps customers conserve fuel by automatically shutting off the engine when the car comes to a stop, such as at stoplights. The engine automatically restarts when the driver takes his or her foot off the brake. During engine restarts, an auxiliary 12-volt battery powers electric accessories such as heating and air conditioning, power windows and radio. “The key was to apply the knowledge we gained from our eAssist technology,” said Todd Paw-
lik, Malibu chief engineer. “By leveraging knowledge from the stop/start system we use on eAssist, we were able to significantly improve city fuel ratings by 3 mpg, or 14 percent on Malibu’s entry-level 2.5L model, compared to the 2013 model.” Malibu’s stop/start system monitors – among other things – vehicle speed, climate control system operation and the force a driver applies to the brake pedal, to determine whether it is efficient to shut off the engine in certain driving conditions, such as stop-and-go driving. In addition to stop/start technology, Chevrolet engineers incorporated valve-actuation technology known as Intake Valve Lift Control into Malibu’s 2.5L engine, which also contributes to improved fuel economy. When the Intake Valve Lift Control system operates in low-lift mode, the engine pumps only the air it needs to meet the driver’s demand. The system switches to high-lift mode at higher speeds or under heavy loads, providing the full output capability of the engine. The variable intake valve actuation enhances efficiency and helps lower emissions, while also boosting low-rpm torque for a greater feeling of power at lower speeds. A new six-speed transmission makes its first appearance in the 2014 Malibu 2.5L. The 6T45 transmission includes improvements that reduce the energy required to pump transmission fluid, which
LOCAL BRIEFS
enables additional fuel economy savings. The new technologies on the 2.5L model enable the Malibu to deliver a higher combined fuel economy rating than the base engines of several midsize sedan competitors, including the Toyota Camry, Ford Fusion, Kia Optima, Hyundai Sonata and Chrysler 200. “In this competitive midsize segment, there is no standing still,” said Chris Perry, Chevrolet marketing vice president. “In addition to fuel economy improvements, the 2014 Malibu is roomier and more refined than its predecessor.” Additional new features on the 2014 Malibu include: -Revised front-end appearance -Roomier rear seat with 1.25 inches (31.7 mm) more knee room -Redesigned center console -Suspension enhancements derived from the all-new 2014 Impala engineered to contribute to a more dynamic driving experience -Available Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert safety features -Nearly 14 percent more torque from the available 2.0L turbo engine – 295 lb-ft of torque (400 -Nm) – engineered for a greater feeling of power on demand The 2014 Malibu is available in LS, LT and LTZ trim levels. The 2.5L engine base powertrain starts at $22,965 for the LS, $24,335 for the 1LT, $26,040 for the 2LT and $28,515 for the top LTZ trim. All suggested retail prices include an $825 destination charge, but exclude tax, title, license and dealer fees. For more information visit www.chevrolet.com.

Before the vote, the clause was removed from the ordinance. Those for the ordinance thought it was past time for Houston to have something like this that celebrates the diverse city. While others argue that ordinance intruded on their rights and was a way to imposed the gay/transgender life on others.

ABC’s ‘Castle’ Tamala Jones Talks About Season Finale and Her Passion for Decorating
arely is solving a murder a good foundation to start a relationship however it was the perfect situation for the budding romance of Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Kate Beckett (Stana Katic), the main characters of ABC’s ‘Castle.’ Who knew a mystery writer and a NYPD homicide detective could be a perfect match? Since 2009, we have watched the fictional characters flirt with it, deny it, fight with it, long for it, and finally, succumb to love. Someone who saw their brewing love for one another at the start was medical examiner and best friend of Kate, Dr. Lanie Parish (Tamala Jones). So you know she is just tickled pink now that Kate and Castle are finally getting married in the sixth season finale. It is no secret that for most women in America weddings are a really big deal. The day just has to be perfect. But if you know Kate and Castle nothing can ever work out just right for the couple without some kind of interruption of a new crime, emergency at the police station, or drama with Castle’s mother or daughter. If you saw Monday night’s Castle finale you know exactly what drama unfolded. Tamala Jones gave Houston Style Magazine an excellent teaser when she said, “Just be prepared to sit there and watch a wedding and something crazy happens.” That something crazy was fans that long awaited to see America’s favorite crime fighting couple married never saw the couple get hitched. While Castle was on his way to the wedding, after some other drama the couple had to overcome, ended up in a ditch with his car engulfed in flames leaving the viewers and Kate to believe that he perished in the car crash. Whether Kate will be planning to marry Castle or bury him of course won’t be revealed until season seven. The hit ABC show cast got the news while they were celebrating the end of season six that they got picked up for another season. No doubt because of the fans. “ I really appreciate them (fans). I just want to thank all fans all over the world that have big hearts for ‘Castle,’ the cast, and the crew. I love them (fans) and the rest of the cast as well,” said a grateful Jones. Fans will be in for a treat when season seven of ‘Castle’ picks back up. According to Jones season seven is going to be lots of fun because producers will be able to do all the stuff they have not been able to do. “Digging more into Lanie’s past, revealing who Lanie is all the way around and how Lanie and Kate became friends” are all things that are swirling for season seven. It is Jones’ hope that Lanie’s past is developed in a way that one of her family members makes an appearance. “I would want to see a family member of Lanie’s. Someone where people can identify where Lanie got her sassiness from, why she is the way she is. You know once you meet a person’s family you kind of get an idea of who they really are all the way around,” said Jones. She put in a pitch that the family member could be Pam Grier since she personally is such a fan of hers. I think that is a good match up. While Jones made a pitch for Lanie’s family to appear, I made a personal pitch to have Jones sing. A popular request for Jones’ fans, she said she doesn’t know when the next opportunity for her to sing will present itself. However, she knows producers were toying around with a karaoke type theme

show for ‘Castle,’ which I jumped on to pitch a musical episode of ‘Castle’ since it is known that Jones, as well as co-stars Stana Katic and Jon Huertas also sing. With the season finale already aired and the wrap party done, Jones is on hiatus from the show but not taking a break from working. She is currently promoting a short film ‘The Box’ that she shot with ‘Castle’ co-star Jon Huertas. Although the pair shot the period slavery film some time ago it is picking up some steam by being accepted by the film festivals in the south of France and Spain and will show at the Mann Chinese Theater in Los Angeles. In addition to that film, she is currently shooting “Shaker Pointe,” a modern day Hamlet. Jones said it is an urban way to tell the classic story.

The workaholic Jones admits she has zero life but does manage to fit in her passion for decorating here and there. “ I love decorating,” Jones expressed as she talked about the hobby she has had since she was in high school. “I can decorate anybody’s house you just tell me your style and I’ll go find it. Tell me your budget and I will make it happen. I love decorating and making things more beautiful to the eye and calm and peace and very zen like.” No matter whether she is acting on set or decorating on the side Tamala Jones’ fan base is sure to be cheering her along the way for which she is most appreciative. Eight Great Eats in Plano
By Jo-Carolyn Goode, Managing Editor
J
ust as big as our Texas’ hearts are our appetites. Good thing that hands down Texas has some of the best spots to satisfy that ugly thing called hunger. No matter what the craving, there is more than one place that will leave you full and wanting to come back for more. I took a trip just north of Houston to discover the great eats in Plano, TX (right outside Dallas).
Seasons 52 I really love this place from their earth tone décor to their seasonal menu where every item is than 475 calories to the excellent staff. I had the grilled boneless rainbow trout that was cooked to perfection and Rainbow Trout was so light and flakey it melted in my mouth. Usually I eat my fish with tarter sauce but it was seasoned so well I didn’t even want tarter sauce. Making my meal even better was my favorite dessert, key lime pie meringue pie. I literally was swaying back and forth as I savored every morsel. This is a must go to place. Visit seasons52.com for more information.
Marriott Dallas/Plano at Legacy Town Center Food at hotels usually is nothing to brag about. However, that was before I ate the food of Chef David Simmons at the Marriott Dallas/Plano at Legacy Town Center. He served myself and the other journalists a breakfast of not champions but kings. Because it is always five o’clock somewhere the chef started us out with Bloody Mary cocktails. Our next course was smoked salmon that was cured with brown sugar for 15 days. The absolute best I have ever had and I am not even a big salmon eater. Next was chicken with waffles with a maple and brown sugar syrup, cured smoked pork lion with poached egg covered in hollandaise sauce, and beef brisket hash. Everything was scrumptious. My only complaint was that my stomach wasn’t big enough for me to eat it all. Completing our breakfast was dessert. Yes, dessert at breakfast. Chef Simmons must have known how I love sweets. He brought out an amazing sinfully good cinnamon roll. It was hot, gooey, and delicious. I again swayed with happiness as I started from the inside out. My only regret here was that this meal was not lunch or dinner. Reason being when Chef Simmons serves the cinnamon roll as dessert at those meals he adds buttered pecan ice cream to the center. Yum! Visit marriott.com/hotels/travel/dalpt-dallas-plano-marriott-at-legacy-town-center/ for more information.
Urban Crust Your basic pizza is dough, tomato sauce, and meat. No excitement there. Urban Crust takes the basic pizza and lets the imagination run wild. My party and I had three pizzas. One that made us feel healthy since it had fig preserves, prosciutto di Parma, goat cheese, and arugula. Before you turn your nose up, try it. It is actually very tasty. Second was the Margherita pizza with buffalo mozzarella from Italy, tomatoes, basil, and tomato sauce. The third was my fav. Shea’s Eastside pizza with fire roasted chicken, mozzarella, caramelized onions, tomato sauce and sun dried tomatoes. Besides the pizza, an attraction for this restaurant is the frozen rooftop bar overlooking downtown Plano. Guaranteed every drink serve is cool as ice. Visit urbancrust.com for more information.

that maybe they are not all that bad. As far as the pollo tarta or chicken sandwich it was moist, flavorful, and big. Served on this huge wooden block, it was a hearty meal. Completing my meal was a strawberry daiquiri minus the alcohol. Pure joy! Visit mexicansugarcocina.com for more information.
the name fool you. Whiskey Cake serves up some of the very best farm-to-fork dishes in the state. My party and I pretty much had everything on the menu, which meant I got to taste LOT. With every bite of each dish my taste buds were not disappointed. But I have to give you a warning, if ordering the OMG burger bring your appetite. It is huge! Oh and if you are a Bloody Mary fan then you want to have one here. They give you the glass of alcohol and allow you to make it the way you want at their garden bar. Interactive fun! A dessert beyond words is their Whiskey Cake. Just go eat it! Plus they are environmentally friendly using egg cartons for the acoustics on their ceilings, recycling old light bulbs for table décor, and growing an herb garden inside the bar. No wonder they are Plano’s first green restaurant. Visit whiskey-cake.com for more information.
good. Besides my terrific meal, I found a new love… fried pickles. I had never had them before and now I only want them from Love and War. Visit loveandwarintexas.com for more information. The food was so awesome on this trip that I created the Sway Award. The food that was bestowed with this honor was so over the top that it is caused me to sway back and forth as I not just ate but really cherished every bite of the food. If you love Texas, this is definitely the place to be. From the lone star on wall of the front entrance to the brand of the logo, this place screams Texas. If it not Texas grown or produce, it will not be on Love and War’s menu. Their cornbread is even in the shape of Texas. The menu is representation of the entire state with the entrees separate by the region of the state they represent – Crossroads of Texas, Border, West Texas Plains, Hill Country, East Texas Piney Woods, and Gulf Coast. I ordered probably the healthiest thing on the menu, which was Alamo chicken - grilled chicken, green beans and cilantro rice. Sounds basic but it wasn’t. It was the most tender, juicy, well-seasoned grilled chicken that I have had in a long while. I ate every last green bean because the flavor was that

he Texans 2014 draft class, selected by the team of Rick Smith and head coach Bill O’Brien, was a success, according to founder, chairman, and CEO Bob McNair. “I was really pleased,” McNair said of the Texans 2014 draft class. “We really got some good players that filled our needs, but we were able to get them on the basis of being the best value at that point in time.” After wrapping up the NFL Draft less than 48 hours earlier, following months of evaluation, everyone seemed to be in good spirits as they enjoyed an afternoon of golf and raised money for charity at the 12th annual Houston Texans Charity Golf Classic at Rick Smith, Jadeveon Clowney and Coach Bill O’Brien River Oaks Country Club. “That was really a good move because we brought in a couple of guys at nose tackle and think they’re going to be pretty good, but I think Nix, he was the best nose tackle there in the draft,” McNair said. “He has a chance to be outstanding and be the type of player that Romeo (Crennel) was looking for. I thought that was really a smart move on Rick’s part.” McNair also has full confidence in O’Brien’s intelligence and no-nonsense approach to evaluating and coaching players. This week, the team will also announce its list of undrafted free agents who will join rookies in their three-day minicamp which starts Friday. “We’re going to be a solid team,” McNair said. “We still have a lot of work to do. These guys coming in are still rookies, but we did a lot to strengthen our offensive line and running the ball is important to us. I think we’re in much, much better shape there. I think that our defense is going to be outstanding. You put those things together and you can be a very competitive ball club.”

Citigroup’s Mexican Bank Fires 11 in Banamex Scandal
C
itigroup’s Mexican bank subsidiary said Wednesday it has fired 11 employees for not following proper procedures in dealing with a Mexican oil services company that allegedly defrauded Citigroup of up to $400 million.
Grupo Financiero Banamex said in a statement that the 11 employees of various ranks “did not follow the supervisory standards expected as part of their responsibilities.” It said more employees might face sanctions, as a result of an internal company investigation. In February, Banamex announced that the oil services company Oceanografia had used falsified invoices as collateral to obtain $585 million in loans. After an investigation, Citigroup could verify only $185 million of invoices. For more information, visit hispanicbusiness.com.

GM Announces New Recall of 3 Million Vehicles
C
NN is reporting that the recall nightmare at General Motors just won’t end. General Motors has recalled another 3 million autos, bringing the troubled automaker’s total for the year to about 10 million. GM has been under fire this year for its botched recall of 2.6 million vehicles with an ignition switch problem that the automaker had known about for 10 years. The Department of Justice, Congress and federal auto regulators are currently investigating the decade-long delay. Most of the cars recalled Thursday were older models built before the company’s 2009 bankruptcy, as was the case with the ignition switch recall. The bulk of the latest recall applies to 2.4 million cars with a wiring problem that’s been tied to at least 13 accidents, two injuries and no deaths. Those vehicles include the 2004-2012 Chevrolet Malibu, the 2004-2007 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx, the 2005-2010 Pontiac G6, as well as 2007-2010 Saturn Auras. For more information, visit cnn.com.
Comcast Plans Data Limits for All Customers
C
NN is reporting Comcast is considering imposing monthly usage limits for all of its Internet customers. David Cohen, executive vice president of America’s largest cable company, predicted at a conference Wednesday that in five years’ time, the company will have “a usage-based billing model rolled out across its footprint.” That means Comcast customers could only consume a certain amount of data before facing extra charges for going over their limits. Cohen said the company would aim to set the limit at a level where “the vast majority of our customers” wouldn’t be affected. He speculated that the limit might be set at 350 gigabytes or 500 gigabytes per month. A cap of that size would allow you to download or stream between 70 and 125 HD movies, which typically run about four or five gigabytes in size. For more information, visit cnn.com.
