oday (Tuesday), California and New Jersey will be the last big states to have primaries. (Residents in the District of Columbia vote in a week.) Bernie Sanders vows to make the case to superdelegates that he is the best choice to take on Donald Trump, as he has every right to do, particularly if he wins California. The media has already dubbed Hillary Clinton the presumptive nominee. No matter how California turns out, she will have won more votes, more pledged delegates and more primaries. Superdelegates will not overturn the choice of the voters unless the former secretary of state’s email scandal gets much worse. We are headed into a race between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Most attention is focused on

Coming Presidential Election Is a Choice of Direction their personalities. The polls show that Americans feel unfavorably toward both of them. Trump calls Clinton “crooked” and has already begun a campaign of personal insult and slur. Clinton calls Trump “unfit temperamentally” for the job and has highlighted his changing ideas and lack of policy expertise. Trump wants to be seen as a strong outsider. Clinton wants to be perceived as an experienced and responsible. But this election is less a choice about personality than about direction, less about individuals than about movements. Trump presents himself as an insurgent in the Republican Party, but he carries that party’s right-wing agenda. He thinks climate change is a myth. He’s for massive tax cuts on the wealthy, and for more spending on the military. He has embraced the GOP’s race-baiting politics and carted them to new lows. He has no program for dealing with inequality. He’s built his campaign by pushing off against Hispanics, Muslims, women, environmentalists and African-Americans. He pledges to tear up the Iran nuclear deal, which would add tensions to the most volatile region of the world. Trump sounds refreshing in his skepticism about America’s failed trade policies and about its interventions across the world. But his answers -- that he’d cut a better deal -- are postures, not

policy. Clinton, in contrast, offers herself as an experienced reformer who will build on the progress made over the last years, not reverse it. She’ll push for strengthening the Voting Rights Act, comprehensive immigration reform, equal pay for women and a stronger effort to address climate change. She’ll defend progress made on choice, gay rights, civil rights and the environment. She favors lifting the minimum wage and empowering workers to organize. She celebrates the Iran deal and the Paris agreement on climate. Trump is far more a Caesar than a movement candidate. But he will be supported by and pressed by the conservative movements that drive the Republican right -- the Tea Party, the Gun Lobby and the anti-choice, anti-immigrant, anti-gay and anti-black reactions. Clinton is far more an establishment than a movement candidate. But she will be supported by and pressed by the civil rights, women’s, environmental, LGBT, union, Latino, pro-democracy and anti-Wall Street movements. Sanders was right to run in the Democratic primaries because that is where the reform movement energy gets expressed. The choice in direction is clear. Activists have to decide whether it is

preferable to fight against a leader supported and pushed by the right -- even if it means supporting a candidate they deem less progressive -- or to deny their vote to both nominees. We know the cost of dismay and the power of hope. In 1960, John F. Kennedy beat Richard Nixon by 112,000 votes, the margin of our hope. In 1968, Hubert Humphrey lost to Richard Nixon by 800,000 votes, the margin of our despair. In 1980, Ronald Reagan won in large part because of Democratic Party divisions over Jimmy Carter. In 2008, Barack Obama became the first African-American president on the basis of our hope. We’re headed into a negative campaign featuring on personal insult and negative attacks. But we’re making a choice about direction. And we should not forget that. You can write to the Rev. Jesse Jackson in care of this newspaper or by email at jjackson@rainbowpush.org. Congressman Culberson Commits to Houston Flood Control

ohn Culberson, Congressman representing southwest and west Houston for more than 16 years and in the state house for 14 years before that, calmed down a fired up and angry crowd of flood victims and water logged families in the auditorium at Pershing Middle School Tuesday night (6/7/16). He helped to relieve stress and stabilized hope with work he’s done for and with the city and county to bring flood relief across the Houston area. “I’ve secured $194 million in federal funds for Brays Bayou, $100,499,000 in federal funds for Buffalo Bayou and $2,856,000 in federal funds for White Oak Bayou since being elected. Since joining Congress my number one priority has been to protect your quality of life which includes making sure our homes and property are protected from flooding,” the West University area native and Copperfield home owner said to those shaking their fists at him asking what he was doing to help keep the bayous in their banks. He said this area has never seen so much rain but he wants bureaucracies broken to build up the bayous and retention ponds to be built so these horrendous floods don’t keep happening. “I’ve worked to provide from

Washington to our local governments every bit of funding requested. Mike Talbott, executive director of the Harris County Flood Control District has assured me repeatedly that to date 50 percent of the project to expand Brays Bayou to keep its neighbors from seeing flooding has been completed and continues to move forward,” continued Culberson, who said his grandparents when he was growing up lived near the area of the middle school where the meeting was being held. “More and more homes and businesses have a reduced risk of flooding. Flood risk reduction projects must be completed in segments and the work already completed has saved thousands of homes from flooding in the Texas Medical Center. When Project Brays is completed, it’ll have removed 29,000 homes and businesses from flood risk during these so called 100 year storms,” he said. Culberson has met with Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner. Following the late April flooding, he worked with Congress members Al Green, Sheila Jackson Lee, Gene Green and his other colleagues from the Houston area to urge President Obama to quickly grant Governor Abbott’s request for a major disaster declaration so that “our

the April flooding, FEMA has approved 8,463 Individual Assistance (IA) applications totaling more than $45 million in federal funds. Culberson urged those in need of assistance navigating the application process s h o u l d c a l l h i s l o c a l o ff i c e a t 713.682.8828. March 1 Culberson earned 44,290 votes or 57.30 percent of the primary vote against two opponents to win his re-nomination. This fall Houston Senior Assistant City Attorney James Cargas is running his third race against Culberson. In fall 2014, 63.26 percent was Culberson’s winnings against Cargas in a three-way race where Cargas won 34.55 percent. In 2012, Culberson earned 60.81 percent or 142,793 votes against Cargas in their first face-off where Cargas won 36.43 percent or 85,553 votes in a four-way race. BOOK REVIEW

I Almost Forgot about You

n every love life, there’s always The One That Got Away. He got away because you were both too young, too scared, too broke, or too different. Things were said that couldn’t be unsaid, done that shouldn’t have been done. It just didn’t work out then, but now…? In the new novel, “I Almost Forgot about You” by Terry McMillan, he’ll never get away twice. It should have been an ordinary run-of-themill Monday. That’s the way it started for optometrist Georgia Young: new prescriptions, return clients, follow-ups, and one new Monday-morning patient who – big surprise! - turned out to be the daughter of a man Georgia dated in college and had fallen for. She never told the guy she loved him, though, and she never would… because he was dead. Shaken to the core, Georgia began to think about all the men she’d slept with, and the ones she’d fallen in love with. How would life have changed if she’d stayed with any one of them? She’d been divorced twice; would that number have been higher or lower? Would she have more than her two daughters, live somewhere other than San Francisco, travel, cook for two? At nearly 55 years old, she figured she’d never find love again, but she at least needed closure. With the urging of her BFF, Wanda, Georgia made a list of the men she’d once loved, and she promised herself she’d find them - not because she wanted to rekindle anything, but because she had so many questions for them and for herself. Finding her ex-husbands was easy. Michael happened to be moving back to California, and Niles was out of jail for his white-collar crime; both were happy and had moved on with their lives. Georgia was

even able to stop hating them. But Abraham wouldn’t be easy to find. Neither would Lance. There were two Jameses, two Harolds, Thomas, Horace, and others, and one white guy that Wanda remembered, and added to the list. Georgia knew she’d never find them all, especially since she had a business, a busy family, and a life to live. Still, they were all men she’d remember forever. But would they remember her? Show of hands: who hasn’t spent girlfriend-time talking about boyfriends? Probably nobody, so “I Almost Forgot about You” is a comfortably familiar story. That’s not to say that it’s same-old, though. Like she did in many of her other novels, author Terry McMillan gives readers a cast of strong-minded, smart women who lean on other strong-minded, smart women. In this book, however, we see a few more bruises from living, rather than from relationships: Georgia and her friends are looking toward retirement, a little less stress, and no more drama. Even so, they get drama anyhow, and you’ll be glad for it. Definitely, this is a novel for anyone who’s lost a love and wondered, “What if…?” It’s a book you’ll want to share with your BFFs. “I Almost Forgot about You” is a book you shouldn’t let get away. iving a Self-Love Lifestyle comes with a surprising challenge for many who have become more comfortable with being givers than they are receivers. I have the privilege of serving some of the most generous men and women in my customized experience I provide within a Loving Session. Often times, my clients have no idea how to respond when I pose the question what would you feel loved? The inability to answer this question stems from years of operating from a self-love deficiency. Being loving and giving to yourself first is actually in harmony with the scripture that has influenced many generous hearted people. “There is more happiness and giving than receiving.” -Acts 20:35 Because in fact, we are happier when we give love to ourselves first, instead of waiting to receive from others, the love that we truly want to feel.... Love-In-Session The most beautiful part of the Self-Love Lifestyle is the journey of discovery from an inside out perspective of who you are. Living with this type of awareness is the only way to assure that your journey is successful. 6

What I’m really suggesting to my clients is to center themselves from within, while being alive and awake in their body vs allowing reactive behavior to deplete their personal love resource. The true reality is that when we are doing a disservice to those we give to if we Blair continuously give from our personal resource of love, instead of from a surplus. One of the most important things to learn, in living the Self-Love Lifestyle, is how to accurately assess whether or not you are operating from your surplus before you give to others. Take a moment and do this exercise with me Let’s assess your personal love resource On a scale of 1 to 4 how full of your own personal love do you feel? 1- I feel completely depleted because I always love others before loving myself

2- I feel depleted from loving others first before I love myself, during stressful times 3- I generally remember to love myself first before loving others. But I do feel some guilt 4- I feel completely full of self-love before I show love to others This assessment can serve to create a conscious awareness from within. Racism The number of hate groups in this country has grown by over 500% since the moment President Obama took office. We as a country ignored that racism still existed, of course we’d made progress since water hoses, dogs and separate water fountains but the

thought if we just ignored Trump he would go away. Sort of like a summer cold. I don’t need to take any medicine because I’ll be okay in a day or two. Well my friends, its summer and we still have that cold. I thought writing about him, tweeting about him, Facebooking about him; those things would just give him more attention. He lives off attention. However, it’s almost a year later and he’s the Republican nominee for President. I think it’s time to stop ignoring him. How do you destroy arguably the greatest Republic the world has ever known? You don’t have a once in a lifetime flood that puts the country under water. You don’t have a volcano that erupts and covers the country in lava. You don’t even have a nuclear war that takes out millions of people and brings down skyscrapers and schools. You destroy a country with a 3-step process. Racism, money and arrogance.

culture and mentality never went away. The more popular President Obama became, the more resentment and hate started to build. So much so that by his second term you had United States Congressman and Senators openly saying they would veto everything and not work with him. There are certain counties in this country that have threatened to leave America because President Obama is our President. These people needed a voice. They needed someone that would feed into their hate and that voice became Donald Trump. Money

June 9 - June 15, 2016

Americans like wealth. We like the idea of someone building something and working for themselves. In Donald Trump a lot of Americans see a guy that came from nothing to something and is going to “Make America Great Again” by creating jobs. The problem with this logic is Donald Trump borrowed money from his father to start his first business. He had connections and was able to go bankrupt and just start over. But we live in a world of “Do as I say and not as I do.” So already tired of the Republicans they couldn’t relate to, they chose a man whose money they could relate to.

www.StyleMagazine.com

Arrogance The Republican Party thought they could play with fire and not get burnt. They thought they could walk the line of racism, sexism, and inequality and there be no repercussions. They created a monster in the tea party and now they can’t control that monster. You have Senators and Congressman that are qualified to run this country and they can’t even get 2% of votes because the public sees them as empty suits. The sad thing is had they worked with President Obama and given him and his policies a chance Trump would still be hosting TV shows instead of being 4 months away from the most important job on this earth. There is a very simple and scary way Donald Trump can become President of the United States of America. Most Americans don’t vote. Hilary Clinton and Bernie Sanders both have supporters that will not vote for the other. So what happens if people that hate President Obama and simply vote Republican have a bigger turnout than those that don’t? I know people right now that think, “There’s no way Trump can win,” so I’m not voting. Have that mindset and America won’t be great again but will be at war again and again and again.

Muhammad Ali & Houston

By Brandon Caldwell, Feature Writer

I

The boisterous Ali couldn’t mince words about his beliefs in 1967. Though his first trip through Houston in 1966 resulted in one of his greatest photos via photographer Neil Leifer and the third round stoppage of Williams, the real fight was just beginning. That night, inside the Astrodome, Ali was cheered like a conquering hero. Dispatching of Williams with a series of thudding punches, he seemed far more at home than Williams did, despite the fact “Big Cat” had fought in Houston in 29 of his first 55 fights. Had Williams been at his physical best, he may have given Ali more of a fight. Instead, it turned into what Howard Cosell described as the night he was “the most devastating fighter who ever lived.” “The Big Cat” had gone through the kind of cosmic bad luck you only could imagine as part of a fable. He’d been shot by a Houston policeman with a .357 revolver two years prior in a case that would rival any modern tale between police interactions with unarmed black men. Still, he came back to fight Ali after losing a potential shot against Ernie Terrell. Even Ali at his loudest stood for black people; the champion he wanted to be, not the champion the media and America wanted him to be. Ali at his staunchest defied the powers and orders of whites, particularly those in power. The verbal beatdowns encouraged from former mentor Malcolm X and N.O.I. leader Elijah Muhammad found their sharpest blows delivered against the United States government, all in refusal of Muhammad Ali: The Peacemaker at Prairie View A&M University In 1967, during his hiatus from boxing, due to his conscientious objection of the fighting someone else’s battle when Vietnam draft Ali lived in Houston. While there a civil rights riot broke out on the that someone refused to acknowledge campus of Texas Southern University. Days after, to help calm the black people or fight his. down, especially the black college students, Ali spoke on the campus of Prairie View A&M University. Under the sweltering heat of the Houston skies, Muhammad Ali would not only set foot in the world arena to battle an opponent who could outlast 15 rounds, he battled for his freedom too. In 1967, Muhammad Ali was far more angry than boyish.

1949, men between the ages of 18-25 years old. His number was called on March 9, 1966, four years after he had already flunked the Selective Service entrance exam for the military with a purported IQ of 78. Due to the government lowering standards for testing, Ali’s draft status shifted from 1-Y to 1-A, making him eligible without the test. He refused to answer the government’s call. What does it mean to battle the government on an issue as big as war? Nothing, unless you’re someone of stature. Modern athletes have protested issues of civil rights in their own terms, yet many fear that being an activist equals a risk. No one risked more than Ali. Millions of dollars as a prizefighter meant nothing. Later, during his exile in the early 1970s, he openly told Howard Cosell that he’d rather retire than fight for someone else. At 25 years old, though operating under influence from the Nation, Ali stared the government in the face just as he had done with Sonny Liston in 1964. Then he answered to Clay, but he would punish anyone who wouldn’t respect his wishes. Though the press had crawled slowly in honoring Ali’s wishes in acknowledging his new name of Muhammad Ali, some fighters still linked him to his birth name, Cassius Clay. Why he refused the name was simple. Though Cassius Marcellus Clay was the name of his father, derived from an abolitionist, that Cassius Marcellus Clay owned slaves, just as the 13th Amendment was added to the United States Constitution. “If slaveholder Clay’s blood came into our veins along with the name, it came by rape and defilement.” Ali wrote in his 1975 autobiography, “but (he) held on to white supremacy. Why should I keep my white slavemaster’s name visible and my black ancestors invisible, unknown, unhonored?” As Floyd Patterson learned through a savage and merciless beating in 1965, Ernie Terrell would learn the same in 1967. The two were set to fight in 1966 but due to Ali’s joining of the Nation of Islam and his public stance about the war, the bout was cancelled and Ali’s license in Illinois was suspended. In the build-up to their actual fight in Houston, Terrell continued to call Ali Cassius Clay out of habit. Ali seethed, stating a knockout would be “too good” for Terrell. Torture via his fists for his insolence seemed best. Outside, Ali had temporarily moved to Houston, citing status as a Muslim minister as the reasoning for why he could not participate in the war. Inside the Astrodome, Ali was a favorite of the crowd in Houston once more, still the Heavyweight Champion though he did not have the World Boxing Association’s piece of the crown. For 15 rounds, Ali battered Terrell, using multiple moments between the 7th and 8th rounds to taunt the 6’6” challenger with questions. “What’s my name? What’s my name, Uncle Tom?” he asked between punches. Onlookers such as sportswriter Tex Maule said of the fight, “It was a wonderful demonstration of boxing skill and a barbarous display of cruelty.” Ali won the fight unanimously even as his cruelty inside the ring had finally come to match his vociferous nature outside of it. Ali would spend more time between Houston, his native Louisville and New York following the fight. In Houston, he maintained his stance in interviews about not participating in the war as his lawyers tried to wriggle him out of serving. In Louisville, he was treated as a king, their king. He was nonpareil in Kentucky. In New York, he immediately secured a fight with contender Zora Folley. A month after defeating Terrell in Houston, Ali vanquished Folley in the seventh round inside Madison Square Garden. It was his last victory in public, for three years. Back in Houston, Ali had to stand and wait. April 28, 1967 was a Friday. It was there Ali

FEATURE would make his boldest statement, without saying a word. Exhausting three appeals, all of which were denied, he stood along with 11 men inside of the Houston’s Military Entrance Processing Station on San Jacinto and heard his birth name called three times. He refused to step forward and was immediately arrested and then released on bail. A month before in his native Louisville, he once more contended why he would not fight for the United States Army. “Why should they ask me to put on a uniform and go ten thousand miles from home and drop bombs and bullets on brown people in Vietnam while socalled Negro people in Louisville are treated like dogs and denied simple human rights?”, he said to the media. Whether or not he was following in the footsteps of Elijah Muhammad himself, who was jailed for refusing to serve in the Army, is up for debate. But, he stood as an outcast champion in an America that was in the minority when it came to not supporting the war. For two months Ali waited before trial in Houston. On June 20, a jury of six men and six women, all of whom were white, found him guilty for his refusal to serve in the military. The verdict took only 20 minutes to deliberate. Ali at sentencing was not willing to wait another month or four before knowing what his fate would be. “I’d appreciate it,” the 25-year-old champion said, “if the court will do it now, give me my sentence now, instead of waiting and stalling for time.” Federal District Judge Joe E. Ingraham didn’t hesitate in leveling him with the maximum penalty - five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. He had already been stripped of the heavyweight title, the one he won from Ernie Terrell in April. Now he was fighting freedom and without any money to support him from boxing - potential bankruptcy. Four years after the verdict, after numerous appeals led his case to the feet of the Supreme Court, Ali was vindicated. By then, the opinion on the war had drastically changed with more in favor of Ali’s stance than continued fighting. He had a victory in that regard and still found himself a Muhammad Ali: The Doctor at Texas Southern citizen of Houston thanks to residency. She is a mother of a dazzling 4 year old, Amariyah, has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Houston Clear Lake and has been working in the field of Education for 8 years. ne of the nation’s largest Medicare contractors just decided that it won’t cover a proven new heart monitor that tracks signs of heart failure. That’s terrible news for millions of Americans suffering from cardiac disease. It’s also a terrifying example of what happens when contractors -- and the actuaries who rule their books -- take healthcare decisions away from patients and their doctors. Indeed, Medicare’s reliance on private contractors to run the program exacerbates the nation’s health disparities by denying Americans in certain states access to life-saving medical advances. The Medicare administrative contractor, or MAC, that rejected this monitor is Novitas. In 11 states, including Texas, plus the District of Columbia, Novitas processes and pays Medicare claims. Ultimately, it’s up to MACs -- not doctors or even Washington policymakers -- to decide if new treatments and technologies will be covered by Medicare in their jurisdictions. All too often, the process of local coverage determinations is unpredictable and incoherent -- and can leave many Americans without access to vital care. The heart monitor decision is illustrative. The implantable device, CardioMEMS, recently received approval from the Food and Drug Administration after extensive trials. But Novitas, citing a lack of clinical data, ruled

against covering the device. So Americans living within its jurisdiction won’t have access to the monitor, even though it has been shown to lower hospitalization by 48 percent. Other devices are at risk, too. Last fall, CGS Administrators, a MAC which covers medical equipment in 38 states, put forward a plan to deny access to certain prosthetics. In many cases, access to these devices and treatments could save and lengthen lives and curb healthcare spending. But current procedures for coverage decisions have created a healthcare landscape where certain services and treatments are available and covered by Medicare in one state but unavailable in the next. A recent report by the Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services confirmed this discrepancy and raised concerns. The report examined coverage decisions

for services under Medicare Part B, the part of the program that covers outpatient care. The report found that of the 7,500 submitted procedure codes, the methodology used to identify medical procedures, half were subject to the decisions of local contractors. There’s a particular irony in the case of CardioMEMS. This is a device that keeps people out of the hospital -- an important nationwide goal established by the Medicare program. Medicare now penalizes hospitals with excessively high readmission rates, by docking reimbursement rates for Medicare services by as much as 3 percent. More than 54 percent of the hospitals in Texas within the Novitas network have been penalized for excessive readmissions. Covering more devices could help lower readmission rates, bringing significant savings to the nation’s healthcare system and preventing hospital stays for people living with heart failure. Advances in medical technology are lengthening lives and beating previously untreatable diseases. Americans suffering from heart disease, or any other treatable ailment, should not be denied a chance to benefit from these advances based on where they live. Kenneth E. Thorpe is professor of health policy at Emory University and chairman of the Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease.

I

Get a New Attitude in the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro Goode, Managing Editor

f clothes make the man, then cars make your personality. Usually, I am a rather shy somewhat reserved type. However, I was a woman with a new attitude that was going places this week as I test drove the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro 2LT Coupe. As Americans showed their love for this country in colors of red, white and blue this Memorial Day weekend I was perfectly matched in a 2016 hyper blue metallic with white stripe Chevrolet Camaro 2LT Coupe. Redesigned for 2016, the Chevrolet Camaro is sleeker, lighter and more aggressive in style and performance. Changes to the outer body are subtle but noticeable. The biggest change is how much smaller the frame appears to be. Its like the Camaro is wearing a waist cincher and everything got sucked in some to give a look that is edgier and really shows some muscle. I loved the rear end of the Chevrolet Camaro because of the dual exhaust tips that peek out from under the body. Something about them says this car loves the road and other vehicles need not creep by it. Eighteen-inch silver painted wheels complete the look and styling of the vehicle. Aesthetically the windows are amazing. Function wise they are troublesome as more mirrors or wider windows are needed for better visibility. When I am on the inside of the Camaro you might as well call me Nicole Lyons or Tia Norfleet because that is exactly how I felt. Just give me a helmet and a jumpsuit and I am ready to race around the track. Everything on the interior has a race car type of vibe to it. It is a car lover’s playground with modern innovation and laid beautifully. Oversized A/C vents immediately caught my attention as they were the bases for the infotainment system that has an 8-inch color touchscreen equipped with the Chevrolet MyLink Audio System. Technology is through the roof with Bluetooth Streaming, Apply Carplay Capability, XM Radio service, On Star, Navigation and 4G LTE Wi-Fi.

One of the coolest things that I was able to control from this system was the customization of the light stripes in the vehicle doors and outlining the center console. Light stripes can be changed to one of twenty-four colors or program it to show a rainbow light show. Love, love, love this! Bucket seats gave my body a good hug and are also very pleasing to the eye. My review ride had two-tone seats that gave a nice contrast to the

n Army Reserve officer and I.T. analyst from the District of Columbia has been crowned Miss USA 2016 after mounting a strong defense of women in combat roles in the military. Deshauna Barber, a 26-year-old from the nation’s capital, gave the answer during the interview section of the pageant in Las Vegas on Sunday. When asked by judge Joe Zee whether the Pentagon’s decision to open up all combat roles to women had “put political correctness over our military’s ability to perform,” First Lt. Barber responded: “As a woman in the United States Army, I think it was an amazing job by our government to allow women to integrate into every branch of the military.” She continued: “We are just as tough as men. As a commander of my unit, I’m powerful, I am dedicated and it is important that we recognize that gender does not limit us in the United States.” Hopes to spotlight veterans’ issues The daughter of a retired Army Master

added comfort of heated and ventilated seats with power adjustments. While the driver and passenger seats are comfortable, I can’t say that of the rear seats. It actually seems like wasted space to me. No average, let alone a small adult, can fit back there with ease. The only people who can be remotely content would be children 6 years and under who can stretch across the backseat. Driving the Camaro made me feel like a total baddie. I wanted to race the streets, after all, I was in a muscle car. Since that was against the law, I settled for just revving up the engine and listening to the Camaro purr as I watched onlookers drool. The Camaro defiantly packs a punch with a 2.0L turbo 4-cyclinder engine that produces 275 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. It is light on its feet as the new design is between 223 - 390 pounds less than its predecessor allowing it to have better handling and be faster on the road. In just 5. 4 seconds, this baby goes from 0 to 60mph. Driving can be made more interesting when driving in the various modes of tour, sport and one Houstonians would never need, snow/ice. Safety is not an issue in the Chevrolet Camaro. It comes standard with eight standard air bags and rear vision camera. Shell out a little more dough for options of a convenience and lighting package that has Lane Change Alert, Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Rear Park Assist, and Head-Up Display. I highly recommend the head-up feature so you can keep your eyes on the road. The Chevrolet Camaro starts at $29,800 while my review vehicle the LT with add-ons was priced at $39,090. Prices can go higher if you opt for the convertible or SS or other trim levels. Get a new attitude when testing out the Chevrolet Camaro at your local dealer. The Ice Age Scientific Reserve offers auto tours, Biking, Boating and canoeing, camping, hiking, cross country skiing, fishing, horseback riding, hunting, picnicking, snowmobiling, snowshoe winter hiking, swimming, wild life viewing, and Lake to Lake bike trails. Animals are welcomed on leashes no longer than 8 ft. In summary, Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin offers a sporting paradise for the casual to the elegant, fun living, and family vacation getaways. There is something for everyone.
