Client Identification – LLP (Limited Liability Partnership) The Money Laundering Regulations 2007 oblige solicitors and other professionals to obtain satisfactory evidence of their client’s identity. To enable us to comply with our due diligence requirements under the Regulations we respectfully request that you provide us with the appropriate forms of ID as set out below. If the LLP is regulated If the Partnership/Limited Partnership has been formed for regulated professionals e.g. lawyers, accountants, chartered surveyors or for a credit or financial institution, all we require is evidence of their regulation from the appropriate website or body. If the LLP is not regulated, we require all of the following
Certificate of Incorporation
Details of the registered office
ID for at least two designated members of the LLP
ID for any individuals who control more than a 25% share of the capital or profits of the partnership or more than 25% of the voting rights of the partnership as set out below
If the two designated members and any individual(s) controlling over 25% shares in the LLP are regulated professionals If the designated members or shareholders are professionals who are regulated by a regulatory body (e.g. SRA, FCA, ICAEW, GMC) then you do not need to provide us with any identity documents as listed below. Instead we simply need details of the regulatory body and their professional directory. 1
