HPE GREENLAKE WITH COMMVAULT 2.0
SERVICE DESCRIPTION HPE GreenLake with Commvault combines the simplicity, agility, and economics of public cloud with the security features and performance benefits of an on-premises environment. HPE GreenLake with Commvault provisions and integrates eligible hardware, software, and services to create an on-premises backup solution experience. There will be two billing units of measure—front-end license and back-end terabyte. In addition, there will be two architectures available—the standard backup solution with HPE StoreOnce, HPE 3PAR, or HPE Primera storage and a hyperscale solution featuring HPE Apollo or HPE ProLiant servers. HPE GreenLake with Commvault is designed to provide an end-to-end backup solution that covers the whole lifecycle of the backup environment. Hewlett Packard Enterprise proposes and implements the backup solution based on the customer’s requirements. Once deployed, HPE will provide certain operational management tasks to help support the backup solution. HPE proactively monitors usage and provisions additional available capacity ahead of demand to help the customer ease the acquisition process and reduce the risk of investing too much or too little in IT infrastructure. This solution guide describes the high-level components of the HPE GreenLake with Commvault solution (see Table 1). A mutually agreed-upon and executed statement of work (SOW) details the precise components based on the customer’s requirements. Advisory and Professional Services for deployment are required. HPE GreenLake Management Services (GMS) is optional.

System provisioning
Hewlett Packard Enterprise proposes and provides a backup solution owned by HPE that includes eligible storage, management servers, and backup software (system) designed to meet the needs the customer’s business. To help with selection and configuration of the system, HPE will work with the customer to analyze their data backup requirements by identifying backup policies, data types, goals, pain points, future initiatives, and opportunities for data optimization. The system will be chosen, in consultation with the customer, from a range of eligible reference architectures. HPE sizes the system based upon the customer’s requirements.
Deployment required operations with Advisory and Professional Services for deployment
The customer must use Advisory and Professional Services for deployment. HPE Pointnext Services provides deployment and integration of Commvault software based upon the requirements identified and agreed upon during the planning phase. Advisory and Professional Services deploys the Commvault Software into your IT environment. It installs the system and integrates the backup software with the storage infrastructure. The system is then configured based on the customer’s data backup requirements. Backup and restore processes are tested before completing a handover to operations. Project management is provided for the initial deployment and any subsequent capacity changes to ensure all deployment activities are coordinated. Service feature highlights • Basic deployment of Commvault—installation of backup server, default proxy, and repository • Optional deployment of Commvault software and functionality that may include IntelliSnap • Configuring, testing, and verifying backups, auxiliary copy, and restores • Configuring, testing, and verifying application-integrated backups and restores • Providing basic knowledge transfer throughout the deployment For more detailed information and SKUs, check the Advisory and Professional Services data sheet: psnow.ext.hpe.com/doc/a50000306ENW.pdf

Optional operations with HPE GreenLake Management Services
The customer has the option to choose HPE GMS. If the customer chooses to use HPE GMS, we can utilize their remote connectivity management tools, as well as establish and maintain access to enable 24x7 remote monitoring by a centralized IT operations center (ITOC). The ITOC includes access to a wide range of expertise to support the HPE GreenLake with Commvault solution. HPE may remotely perform activities such as schedule and execute backup or restore requests, backup job periodic review (for example, duration, success rate, and failures), change management, and remediation. HPE has designed operational services according to Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) industry standards, HPE best practices, and standardized service-level objectives. The customer retains management control and responsibility for the solution, but HPE executes agreed tasks on the customer’s behalf. To enable HPE to manage the solution effectively regular proactive activities are conducted intended to help mitigate risk and optimize performance. Firmware and software are analyzed and updated. Health checks are performed on systems to maintain the HPE best practice configurations. Reviews are conducted to help tune and optimize systems with the goal to meet changing business requirements and the efficiency of the systems will be analyzed to determine potential opportunities for improvement. HPE GMS will load their software during the installation procedure.

Single point of contact support
Customer should contact Commvault directly for software support. HPE provides a single point of contact to deal with covered hardware incidents that may arise. The customer can contact HPE 24x7. HPE provides rapid response to critical incidents and accelerates escalation management. A technical solution specialist who is trained to address issues in complex computing environments handles incidents. HPE can also work with Commvault to resolve issues related to the backup software in the solution. In the event of a hardware issue requiring an on-site presence, a hardware specialist is dispatched to the customer site. If a software issue is identified, HPE will have Commvault engage with the customer directly. Also, if applicable, HPE may also initiate incident resolution through the monitoring provided by the operations solution component.
Governance
HPE GreenLake with Commvault includes an assigned account team (AAT) that works closely with the customer to understand their business and IT objectives with the goal to help ensure these needs are met. The AAT is the customer’s advocate and technical focal point for ongoing support of the IT environment. The AAT works with the customer to develop and routinely review a mutually agreed account support plan.
Consumption model and capacity management
The systems and services that comprise HPE GreenLake with Commvault are invoiced based on two units of measure, a front-end license and back-end terabyte. HPE bills the customer monthly for usage based on metered data so that charges are aligned with consumption. This enables the customer to procure and pay for capacity on a variable monthly usage basis, subject to a minimum commitment, and the charges associated with the minimum commitment. Buffer capacity is deployed ahead of demand. Because the customer is billed monthly, there is no large up-front expenditure. HPE will provide the tools and methodology to perform the capacity measurement and billing for HPE GreenLake with Commvault. These tools, owned by HPE, will query the allocated systems on a periodic basis to determine the capacity used. To help manage capacity, HPE provides periodic trend analysis and capacity recommendations. When additional capacity is required, the change management process is initiated, and HPE GreenLake with Commvault provides procurement, logistics, deployment, and start‑up management.
