The 2022 performances include International Youth Ballet (May 27), Denver Taiko (June 24), and Soul Rhythm African Drumming and Dance (July 22). The Summer Concert Series, held at Highland Heritage Regional Park, features the best local bands on Thursday evenings in June and July. See the enclosed cling for a complete list of dates and bands. Thank you to our sponsor Littleton Adventist Hospital! On June 11, the annual Classic Car Show brings out great cars, food, music, and more for a day of family fun. Admission to the event is free. Starting in June, you will notice new sculptures around Highlands Ranch as part of the Art Encounters program. Learn more at www.HRCAonline.org/ArtEncounters. MIKE BAILEY General Manager May is here, let the sunshine in! At HRCA, things are in full bloom, incumbent Board members Melissa Park and Dan DeBacco were re-elected along with long standing volunteer and delegate Monica Wasden. This trio, along with Jim Allen and Brock Norris, provide a well-balanced core of leadership for our community. I am so very grateful and humbled that this Board of Directors officially appointed me to the “General Manager” post. I look forward to “Making Tomorrow Better Today” in working with our great staff, residents, businesses and community partners within our community. This month we will embark on the long awaited Eastridge renovation project. Over the next few months, the rotunda, reception area, and a portion of the administrative wing will be renovated, providing easier access for our customers and better utilization of our existing space in a more efficient manner. During construction, the “Assessment Department” will operate out of Westridge, and the “Community Services Department” will be re-located to Southridge for architectural reviews and covenant control. The HRCA recently took pause and reflected on the significant contributions made by many in making Highlands Ranch what it is today. We were joined by our community partners in burying a “Time Capsule” on the grounds at Eastridge. Over the next few months, we will begin soliciting community input for the proposed “Backcountry Outdoor Center”. An extensive community awareness schedule has been
adopted and you can learn more about the schedule of such on our web site at www.HRCAonline.org.
HRCA closed out the 40th Anniversary celebration of Highlands Ranch by burying a time capsule in January. Representatives from the Highlands Ranch Historical Society, HRCA, Shea Properties, Metro District, Chamber of Commerce, and the Douglas County Sheriffs Office were present at the installation of the time capsule. Community and governing organizations from the Ranch were invited to donate items which depicted the journey they had taken since ground was broken back in 1981. “We believe there was no better way to wrap up our anniversary year of celebration than by acknowledging our community’s spirit and reaching out to future generations to give them an idea of the special place we have created in the years since 1981”, Jamie Noebel, Community Relations Director from HRCA, explained. The capsule is buried to the west of the Recreation Center at Eastridge and is scheduled to be opened in 2056 on the 75th anniversary of our community.
COMMUNITY NEWS Paint Season is Here! The Community Improvement Services department is already busting with submittals from Residents who want to change the paint colors on their homes or just give their current colors a refresh. Whether you are repainting with your existing colors or if you have decided on a new color scheme, the improvement still needs to be submitted to the Architecture Committee for approval. We have added a ‘quick hit’ button located on the home page of the HRCA web site that takes you directly to our Home Improvement Forms page. This makes submitting your colors to the committee a snap! The CIS department does not have a list of ‘pre-approved’ colors for Residents to reference so if you are looking for something new, we recommend that you either submit the colors of your choice, or drive around Highlands Ranch and collect two or three addresses of homes you like. You can email us these addresses at improvements@hrcaonline.org or call us at 303-471-8821. We can look up any approval on file and pass along that paint information to you. This makes the process quick and easy! We are extremely busy during the summer months so please plan some review time into your schedule! If you have any questions, we are available Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. to assist you.
Opening Schedule for HRCA Outdoor Pools The HRCA Outdoor Pools will open May 27 - 30, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Memorial Day the pools will close at 5:00 p.m. Regular summer hours begin Tuesday, May 31. Visit www.HRCAonline.org/Pools.
