Please note that the start of the year comes with a high volume of visitors at our recreation centers so bring your patience and maybe some additional time. With the new technology upgrade, make sure you set up your online account and get your new membership card to have the best user experience. Events and Activities: January is packed with a variety of events and activities that will keep everyone busy and active during the long winter months. Make sure to register early so you don’t miss out! The Winter Cultural Series kicks off January with the Littleton Youth Ballet on the 12th, and then on January 26 with the DU Lamont School of Jazz at the Cherry Hills Community Church. The Family Magic Show on January 20, Home Brew Class and Hot Cocktails and Cordial Tasting on January 21, and Chinese New Year on January 28 are sure to be a hit. Budget: The Board approved the 2017 budget in November. The new budget includes a 1.4 percent assessment increase, which is equivalent to $8 annually or $2 per quarter. Highlights from the budget process include a major Northridge Renovation Project, continued funding of the transfer to the recreation reserves for ongoing maintenance and upkeep of facilities, and funding to continue to move the organization forward on the technology front. The slight increase in assessments will continue to allow HRCA to operate all four recreation centers in addition to growing the programming and events that are enjoyed by so many members of the community. The Finance Committee Meetings, where the budget planning process takes place, are open to the public and members of the community are encouraged to attend.
