Project Updates: HRCA was busy this past summer updating the facilities and enhancing the amenities within our recreational areas. The Northridge Tennis Pavilion has received a major overhaul. Some of the improvements have included new insulation and thermal equalizers to help with energy efficiency and temperature control. In addition, the lobby, office, and patio areas in the tennis pavilion are currently being improved and updated. Lastly, we have installed a new climbing wall to the Northridge diving well, a zip line to the outdoor Eastridge pool and an outdoor 3D Archery Range near the Backcountry Base Camp. Keep these added amenities in mind as you are thinking about new activities to try. Volunteer Spotlight: Woody Bryant, Chairman of the Design Review Committee (DRC) has recently informed the Board of Directors that he will stepping down from the DRC at the end on 2018. Woody was appointed in 2003 and he has been a tireless advocate of the HRCA and the community at large. During his tenure on the DRC, Highlands Ranch has experienced phenomenal growth in both commercial and residential settings. Woody’s expertise in the development review process has been unparalleled and he is truly revered by his peers. Thank you Woody for your dedication and devotement to the HRCA and the citizens of Highlands Ranch.

Remove Dead Trees on Property HRCA appreciates that, for homeowners, keeping your property consistently compliant with the Residential Improvement Guidelines does require regular maintenance and work that is not always convenient, but it is nonetheless required. Dead trees and shrubs are a violation of particular concern to HRCA this year. Just like mowing a lawn and pulling weeds, removing dead trees, dead limbs on trees, and shrubs is a required part of landscape maintenance in Highlands Ranch. Dead trees can become a home for pests and help spread disease and must be removed from property, in order to avoid receiving a violation letter. Similarly, dead shrubs must be removed.

Maintaining Fencing HRCA Residential Improvement Guidelines require that all fencing be regularly maintained. The RIGs specify one permitted stain color, Highlands Ranch Fence Brown, as adopted by the HRCA Board of Directors in June 2018. Some sub-associations (i.e., Firelight and The Hearth) require a different fence stain color, so please be sure to check with your sub-association if you have one to ensure your fence color is compliant. All fences must comply with this guideline and homeowners are required to submit an application for approval to the CIS Department before staining fences. For questions, go to www.HRCAonline.org/Fence. For all Residential Improvement Guidelines visit www.HRCAonline.org/Covenants
