Trail Tips

It's officially muddy season. As our weather flexes between snow and shorts-weather, please make good choices when deciding to use the trails to protect them from damage. Here are five “ifs” to consider when using trails in mud season:

1. If your yard (or neighbor's Northfacing yard) is snowy or muddy, the trails are likely in the same condition.

2. If you come across a muddy patch, either turn around or go (walk your bike rather than ride) straight through it so you don’t widen the singletrack trails.

3. If your footprint or tire is leaving an indention in the trail, you should turn around.

4. If the night is cold, make sure to get on the trails early before they thaw out in the afternoon.

5. If you want the most up-to-date trail conditions, check out local mountain bike and running social media groups.
