A Message From The GM
Dear Highlands Ranch residents,
As we approach the end of 2024, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on our collective achievements and provide a glimpse into what lies ahead for 2025. This year has been marked by significant milestones and improvements across the organization, and none of them would have been possible without the support of our residents.
Accomplishments from 2024
One of the most notable steps forward was the launch of our Employee Survey and the implementation of a Common Review Cycle, both of which have helped us gather valuable insights and streamline processes. We also undertook an enhancement to our HRCA branding and redesigns of both our monthly newsletter and Activity Guide, enhancing communication and engagement across the organization.
On the academic front, we were proud to award 25 scholarships, each valued at $2,500, to local Highlands Ranch seniors. With 71 students applying, this year’s turnout was our largest to date. We also established an IT Steering Committee to guide our technological strategies and launched an internal checkpoint email filtering system, which detected nearly 700 spam messages within just weeks of implementation.
Our Events and Marketing/Communications departments successfully transitioned into two distinct entities, allowing for more focused efforts in each area. We also completed significant facility improvements, including HVAC installations at Southridge and a beautiful water-saving xeriscape project at Westridge, the Eastridge hot tub renovation, and the Tennis shelter & cabana completion at Northridge.
In the financial realm, we transitioned our assessment collections from Zego to Versapay, a move that promises greater efficiency. Additionally, we implemented a new emergency management response system to ensure our staff is prepared for any crisis.
A personal highlight was our recognition as Association/GM of the Year, which we celebrated in January 2024. It’s a testament to all the support HRCA receives from its community. Lastly, our Backcountry Wilderness Association raffle raised more funds than ever, supporting conservation efforts in the community.
Looking Ahead to 2025
Next year will bring new challenges and opportunities. We will continue our discussions with Douglas County and Douglas County Open Space Advisory Committee (COSAC) regarding Wildcat Regional Park, and we’re planning a $6 million remodel of Westridge. Our legislative involvement will deepen as we take a more active approach to HOA matters through a lobbyist, and we’ll also launch a comprehensive community survey to better understand and serve our residents’ needs.
Thank you for all the community support each of you have given to HRCA this year and I look forward to an exciting and successful 2025!
My best,
Mike Bailey HRCA General Manager
