DRIVE-THRU CAR SHOW Grab the family and go for a drive! This year instead of our traditional Car Show, we are hosting a family-friendly Drive-Thru Car Show on July 25! Get out of the house and see some great unique and classic cars while maintaining proper social distancing. Participating vehicles will fill the parking lot at Cherry Hills Community Church while you stay comfortable and seated in your air conditioned car and cruise around checking them out.

While we can't celebrate together, we hope you have a wonderful holiday with your family and friends.

POOLS REOPEN TO MEMBERS HRCA is pleased to reopen the pools to our members! Lap swim and Aquatics programs have reopened, and starting on June 22 the outdoor pools will offer open swim by reservation only. Please know that your health and safety are of utmost importance to us, and we appreciate your patience and flexibility as we navigate this first phase of reopening. As the State relaxes restrictions around COVID-19, HRCA is working on a plan to allow more opportunities for members to safely use the pools. More information will be released as it is available. Before heading to the pool for open swim, please go to HRCAonline.org/Pools and review all of the pool guidelines. A few items to note: •

Only members will be allowed at the pool during this time – no guests. HRCA IDs will be checked upon entry.

Each household is allowed to reserve ONE time slot per day for up to six people. If you reserve more than one time slot on one day, all of your reservations will be canceled. As of June 24, each household is limited to two sessions per reservation period, this will allow other families to enjoy the pools as well.

Every member of your party should be included in your reservation regardless of age (infants included). All residents entering the pool area will be required to have a ticket regardless if you are swimming or not.

To make reservations and view all of the pool guidelines go to HRCAonline.org/Pools.

Load up the family and view a variety of classic cars, service vehicles, and trucks! Thank you to our event sponsors Childrens Hospital Colorado and Schomp Automotive! Please stay in your vehicle throughout the duration of the car show. There will be no food or restrooms available on-site. Register your classic or unique car! Instead of an entry fee, donations will be accepted and will go to the Cultural Affairs Association to help us continue to fund our cultural programming. For details or to register your car to showcase go to www.HRCAonline.org/Carshow. Saturday, July 25 • 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. • Cherry Hills Community Church (front parking lot on EAST side of the building) 3900 Grace Blvd. • FREE but donations will be accepted and will go to the Cultural Affairs Association

WOW - it's July! Hard to believe as our world has changed so much over the last few months.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

On behalf of the HRCA we would like to wish you a big "Happy 4th of July" to all of our Highland’s Ranch residents and, happy birthday to the United States of America! This is a time to celebrate with friends and family, but before you start lighting those fireworks, know what is legal and what isn’t in Douglas County. Please check the Douglas County Sheriff’s web site at http://www.dcsheriff.net/ for more specific information.

Independence Day changes due to COVID: We are deeply saddened and disappointed this year that the HRCA July 4th festivities had to be canceled. It would have been impossible to adhere to the State and Tri-County Health recommendations of proper social distancing and limitations to public gatherings for such a large event as the 4th of July parade and fireworks. We hope that you will celebrate in other ways this year by staying safe with a small group of family and friends nearby.

On a serious note, our world is going through very unsettling times right now and it is tearing at the fabric of our communities, first with the ramifications of the COVID-19 virus and now with the challenging and valid issues raised by social justice demonstrations. Our world is changing, and we are changing with it.

RECREATION CENTERS

As a homeowner's association, we strive to build our community’s foundation on treating every individual equally without bias - it is the backbone of what makes our organization thrive, we are inclusive and have zero tolerance for any form of discrimination. Our staff and members’ health, happiness, and best interests are our highest priority.

Many times, in our world’s history we have struggled through troubling periods, and while extremely difficult at the time - it has helped us create the necessary solutions for the future complex challenges we face as a nation. Our hope is these difficult times now, will once again will teach us all to be better, more respectful of everyone. As we all continue to rebound from the COVID closures and challenging times, please continue to be patient and show grace with others as we are all trying to do our best to accommodate one another.

A reminder... Quarterly Assessment Payments are due on July 1: Did you know 18% of our homeowners are signed up for eStatements and 38% use autopay? Our goal is to get at least 75% participation in eStatements and 60% using autopay. Help HRCA go green by opting in to receive eStatements at www.HRCAonline.org/ paperlessoptions or take the worry out of making your payment by setting up autopay at www.HRCAonline.org/payassessment. Enforcement, paying dues and compliance are never fun topics to write about but I thought that this month I would call attention to this matter. After all, the main reason Community Associations exist are to keep property values high. This topic is one of constant debate. Many say we don’t enforce enough while others say we are overbearing and difficult. On top of all that, real consequences in the form of fines, liens, legal fees and even foreclosures can come from non-compliance with paying dues and abiding by the legally binding contract that each homeowner agrees to when buying a home in Highlands Ranch. We want to thank everyone who works with the Association and encourage everyone to promptly respond to all notices that are sent to homeowners regarding these matters.

COMMUNITY NEWS OUTDOOR PROJECTS ARE IN FULL SWING Happy Summer! We are well on our way to getting things back to ‘normal’ here in the Ranch. Flowers are blooming and outdoor projects are in full swing! Exterior projects and overall maintenance are a great way to keep our neighborhoods looking attractive and welcoming as we continue to spend a great deal of time near and in our homes. The Community Improvement Services (CIS) department knows that submittals for improvements can be confusing, what do I submit for or not? A great rule of thumb is, when in doubt SUBMIT! We make it easy to submit for any Home Improvement through our web site www.HRCAonline.org/covenants. We experience an extremely high number of inquiries and submittals this time of year. Having all the information attached to your submittal goes a long way to ensure an efficient process for you and the HRCA. Summer has arrived and with it, warm temperatures causing stress on landscaping. As a reminder to all, regular mowing, trimming, watering and weed control are a part of landscape maintenance that not only keeps your lawn healthy, but also keeps the neighborhoods looking good. Please make sure to keep your yard healthy and well maintained. Often we don’t step back and look at our property from our neighbor’s perspective. Property values are impacted by how our neighborhoods' properties look. We should all try to be a kind and courteous neighbor. Please try to remember to stay within the seventy-two hours within a seven day period for your RV’s and campers when you bring them to your home. If you are quarantining due to COVID19 in your RV, please fill out the variance form available online to residents. We are coming up to the warmest weather of the season and many people have their windows open, be cognizant of loud noises, music, smoke from fire pits as these may affect neighboring properties. Let’s all try to be kind to one other and when we see a neighbor needs help please offer assistance. We are here to assist you in any way possible! Our office is open Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (located in the Eastridge Recreation Center) by phone, 303-471-8821, or email at covenant@hrcaonline.org.
