Enhancing property values and creating quality of life through recreation, community events and leadership

March 2014

THE NEW LOOK OF THE RACE SERIES The Highlands Ranch Race Series has been producing community races for nearly 10 years. Beginning as a small swim/run race, the series has grown to offer a variety of races. For 2014, the Highlands Ranch Race Series (HR Race Series) offers four 5K runs, a half marathon, two triathlons (including two Kids' triathlons), and three mountain bike races. Also, the HR Race Series sports a new look, new logo, handmade awards, virtual race bags, better discounts for groups and families, and much more. We kick-start the racing season with the St. Patrick’s Day 5K on Saturday, March 15. New in this year’s line-up is the Mother’s Day 5K which takes participants on the most scenic 5K course ever offered in the Race Series. Participants will have spectacular views of the entire Front Range, Denver city skyline, and the Highlands Ranch windmill as they run/walk their way from Mountain Vista High School to the historic Highlands Ranch Mansion and back. So lace up those sneakers and get ready to join the fun. For more information, or to register, visit www.HRraceseries.com.

ELECTION OF DIRECTORS & DELEGATES ANNUAL MEETING OF DELEGATES (Election of Directors) – At the Annual Meeting of Delegates on March 18, three candidates will be elected to the HRCA Board of Directors. There are four candidates running for the three open positions. The candidates are Christina Caputo, Scott Lemmon, Shon Payne, and Dennis R. Seymour. For more information about the director election process, to review the candidates’ data forms, or to review candidates’ response to questions posed by delegates, please visit the web site. ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS – This year, as in all even-numbered years, members (property owners) within even-numbered districts and all districts currently not represented by a delegate, elect their district delegate. The 2014 elections take place at the Annual Meeting of Members on April 22, 5:30 p.m. at Eastridge, Gordon Von Stroh Community Room. For more information about delegate elections or to locate your district delegate, visit www.HRCAonline.org/Leadership/District Delegates. If you are interested in running for a delegate position, call the HRCA Administrative Office at 303-471-8958. The last date for known delegate candidates to be printed on the notice mailed to members is March 10. Write-in candidates will still be accepted and valid.

couple of months of 2014 putting a comprehensive plan together for the community. The goal is to forecast out the next five years so that we can properly anticipate budgetary costs for new capital; and repairing and replacing other equipment and facilities. The board, in this year’s budget, began to put aside funds to eventually expend on these projects. Together, with the staff, we are putting the final touches on the “Annual
