Tatcha Cosmetics 2020
It is a cosmetic rebranding of Tatcha, specifically their Water Cream Moisturizer and the Deep Cleanse cleanser. I took on this project to learn more about product packaging design.
1
The Process Brief I wanted to expand my skills with package design so I researched cosmetic brands and came across Tatcha. I was interested in rebranding them with my own vision. Goals The goal was to create a brand that was congruent with their Japanese background while remodeling their appearance to fit a younger audience. Challenges The challenges consisted of the lack of experience I had with cosmetic design so I had to dive into my Pinterest boards to research the trends and gain new ideas. I also had difficulty finding similar mockups and because it will not be printed I could not make my own. Solution I resolved these issues by taking advantage of Adobe XD tutorials and then I adjusted the mock-up issue by creating two different products.

Deep Ellum website MObile format
The Process Brief This project was for a graphic design class at Harding University. The prompt was to create a promotional website for a town in the United States. Goals The goal was to design an easy navigation system, convince the viewers to visit the town and highlight the significant characteristics of the area. Challenges Some of the challenges were learning Adobe XD, brainstorming for new website layouts, and experimenting with the proportions. Solution I resolved these issues by creating a Pinterest board of different travel website layouts, analyzing the characteristics of a travel website that set them apart from other sites, and soliciting critiques from my peers.

JUngle Disco 2019
This is a promotional series for a zoo event, Jungle Disco, hosted by Point Defiance Zoo. It includes three social media posts, three educational posters, and a children’s workbook.

The Process Brief This project was a group project in a graphic design class at Harding University. I have highlighted the designs that I contributed to the project. Goals The goal of this project is to attract young adults to visit the zoo for a jungle disco event. Another goal is to create an activity for younger kids to interact with while at the event, which is the children’s workbook. Challenges Some of the challenges were collaborating with a group of peers that varied in academic background. Some were majors or minors in graphic design and others were more focused on other majors, all were at different levels in their education. Another challenge was creating a design brand that was congruent across the board. I was collaborating with three other individuals. Solution I resolved these issues by communicating to the best of my ability to make sure we all were in agreement with the goals of the project and our research. As well as, I oversaw the work ready for submission and double-checked for congruency and strong execution.

Konica Chocolate 2019
This is an environmentally friendly chocolate package design that is hand-crafted in Bali, Indonesia. The variety of flavors reflects the natives of Bali’s favorite flavors of chocolate.
4
The Process Brief This package design was for a graphic design class at Harding University. The prompt was to design a chocolate package from the list of regions. I chose Indonesia and specially selected Bali for the origin of the chocolate. Goals The goal of this project was to create a design that would sell to a specific audience. I chose middle-aged men as my target audience because there are not many chocolate brands that reach out to them. Another goal was to incorporate the region’s characteristics into the package and create a unique design. Challenges Some of the challenges were decided on package elements (shape, size, layout), brainstorming about incorporating Bali into the design, and managing the time to craft the design.
Solution I resolved these issues by creating a Pinterest board to observe a large number of package designs. I also researched articles on chocolate from Bali and dedicated a large amount of time to execute the project.
Konica Chocolate original draft A detailed flat layout of the box design. The box was originally designed as a recycled carboard box although, was reinvented to conform to a metal container.

The Process Brief This project was for a graphic design class at Harding University. The prompt was to design a book cover for adult fiction. I chose Soraya Lane’s books because of their strong women leads and my interest in the war. Goals The goal was to design covers that hinted to what was inside but not give away the story. As well as, to intrigue the viewer into picking out the book among many other choices on a shelf. Challenges Some of the challenges were deciding on what elements to highlight on the cover, how to represent the characters well without giving to much away, and researching the book’s content because I had not read the material. Solution I resolved these issues by spending time brainstorming and then taking small breaks to allow my thoughts to process. Eventually, the idea to use the figures and strokes of paint came to mind.

The Process Brief This is a project for a graphic design class at Harding University. The prompt was to design a poster and optional extra elements to promote a PSA for an organization of your choice. I chose Meal On Wheels because I used to volunteer with them when I was younger. Goals The goal of this project was to design a poster to promote a food drive and live concert event, to encourage young adults to help support the elderly while having fun. Also, design merchandise that could be purchased at the food drive to raise additional funding for warm meals and medication.Another goal was to create a design that promoted the live concert and the Meals On Wheels organization. Challenges Some of the challenges were managing the time it took to draw the illustrations and create the design, it was difficult to connect the concert with the organization at first, and representing the nature of the band that would play at the concert into the design. Solution
Tickets to benefit concert
I resolved these issues by brainstorming and combining the food drive with an outdoor live concert and researching band posters to gain inspiration for the look of the design.

I gained inspiration from Piet Mondrian and his colored grid lines. I grew up admiring him and I relate to his love of simplicity. I used my knowledge of him to boarder my stacked name with a lightweight font and a bold font to represent my laid-back but bold personality. I chose the color scheme because of its relation to nature and my deep interest in sea life and nature in general.

Designer Statement “I chose to be an artist because I believe that art, specifically graphic design, makes the world a better place by providing visually aesthetic communication. I want to be apart of creating better communication and I want to invoke a reaction with my work. I want the colors, design, and form to allow the viewer to have a sense of understanding of why I chose those elements. Communication is the key in everyday life and that is why I chose graphic design.
