An excellent Catholic school provides to its multiple constituents a realistic, forwardthinking, three- to five-year plan that contains a clear path and commitment to on-going excellence in all aspects of the school’s operations. We must guarantee for future generations of students that the hallmarks of a Catholic education – solid faith formation and academic excellence – continue to be available to all who seek them. With this updated strategic plan, Holy Redeemer Catholic School is well-positioned to be a viable and excellent Catholic school for many years to come. The formation of the goals presented within this document is reflective of our mission and of the plans that we have to ensure our growth in the future. The foundation of these goals is the feedback from our stakeholders, upon which both the affirmation of our current work and the vision for future work was built. I am grateful to the faculty, staff members and parents who comprised the committees in each goal area and whose work is evident in this document. The opportunity to nurture the students within our walls and to prepare them for the future is among the many blessings that God bestows on us. Holy Redeemer Catholic School Strategic Planning Goals 2018-2023 Catholic Identity:
Continue to instruct students in our Catholic faith through curriculum, sacred symbols, practices and service. Enable students to put their faith into action through school-wide service to the community. Strengthen our Catholic community through retreats, prayer experiences and activities that encourage unity and mutual respect among all members of the Holy Redeemer Catholic community. In collaboration with archdiocesan clergy, maintain and improve a formal channel of communication to the feeder parishes and local community. Grow parent involvement and provide additional Catholic parenting resources.
Curriculum and Instruction:
Use data from multiple evaluation sources to guide instructional methods employed in the classroom and to continually improve the academic performance of students. Use a variety of differentiated instructional practices and varied assessments to increase student engagement, allowing students to be more self-directed in their learning and in performance outcomes. Continue to promote collaboration among teachers to share instructional practices, increase content integration across curriculum areas, and support the continuity of instruction across levels. Continue to instruct students in the methods and application of study skills in all grade levels and continue to communicate with parents to assist them in supporting their children in the learning process. Increase the availability and use of varied technology for all students in all curriculum areas and provide ongoing training for faculty and students.
Finance:
Continue to maintain a balanced budget setting aside funds for present and future needs and creating endowments to ensure that funds are protected for designated purposes. Grow the capital reserve fund to meet annual standards recommended by the archdiocese and to accommodate the needs of an aging facility. Grow technology expenditure reserves to keep pace with advancing technology needs. Continue to educate stakeholders about our annual appeal and increase alumni outreach in this area. Increase the marketing budget to include an increased social media presence to support enrollment and informational outreach. Continue to provide feedback to stakeholders regarding the annual budget and facility plans.
Operational Vitality:
Continue to develop and support new marketing strategies to communicate the success of our students and to involve the school and local community in recruitment efforts. Increase the school’s social media presence to highlight the various components of our academic program and the achievements of our students. In marketing our school, emphasize our use of current technology and instructional practices that support future learning.
