Team Objective Structured Clinical Evaluation (TOSCE): Global Rating After all 6 TOSCEs have been completed, the two facilitators who observed the TOSCE each grade the team, using their notes. 1. Each facilitator considers the number of X and √ marks in the scoring rubric to rank the 6 teams observed. 2. Each facilitator assigns a grade out of 4 for each competency, using the scales on the left hand side of the page. The average grade for any competency on the TOSCE is a 2. A 4 in any competency is reserved for exceptional work only; a 2 may be assigned where a team has struggled with a competency. Consider the balance of contributions across the team. No half points may be given. 3. Average the scores given by each facilitator for each competency. Add the averaged scores to generate a grade out of 16. This is the final TOSCE grade for each team. With an average score of 2 on each competency, your teams’ scores will average at 8/16. Sections with a higher or lower average will be reviewed by the course coordination team to ensure consistency.
