BE INFECTION is an expression the value of green life. Children collect, recycle and use PET bottles in games. By doing so, they understand the importance of environmental protection, learn the concept of recycling and foster the habit of using waste.



Background Most toys on the market for children's learning aim to foster the capability of logic and geometry, like shapes, colors etc. Environmental awareness is often taught in speech by parents and teachers. Therefore, we hope to foster the concept mentioned above by learning through games and emphasize on “green”.

Limbs development Children development has the three main directions: gross motor, fine motor and language communication. Gross motor is the athletic ability of limbs. Fine motor is the flexible use of fingers. Effective limbs’ training helps children's intellectual development afterward.The products need to change ways of using to adapt to different stages. Then, the lives of the products can be extended.

Learning in Games Friedrich Froebel, the Father of pre-school education in 19th century, claimed to process the game education to young children. Since the 1960s, in the study of the laws of the early childhood development, various nations’ educational psychologists indicate that children have great potential in childhood. The potential can be discovered in games. Therefore, the correct way to implement education is to organize games properly.

Environmental protection Most toys on the market for children’s learning aim to foster the capability of logic and geometry, like shapes, colors etc. Habits, environmental awareness, moral and so on are often taught in speech by parents and teachers. Therefore, we hope to foster the concept mentioned above by learning through games and emphasize on “green”.

Process Combining two concepts, green and learning, we try to make a simple "toy" for children to play in their daily life. At the same time, we try to make it useful for them to store their toys.


Model Use the support surface which can be freely combined. Meanwhile, combine gears to have the function of rotating. Use PET bottles as the main material to make air cushions, gears and connectors. By combining PET bottles with those, create space for children to move freely and for storage and build children's creative world!

Model In addition to using material made by recycled PET bottles, the softness of products is required as well. That allows children not to be hurt or injured through using. Ways of combining different parts are by using the similarity of PET bottles’ caps.

Use threads, rotation, bevel etc. so that erasers would have sharp as using. The using side would make the other side become sharp. In addition, the shell thread which matches the cover would produce more sharp corners. Though erasers would be smaller, the cover would maintain the same proportion for people to grip and extend the service life.


Background While eraser is getting smaller and smaller, people would want to find out a comfortable way to hold it and find angles of an eraser. However, how to make these possible while using an eraser?

Concept Making angles instead of round shape is the main point of the design. An eraser would be smaller after being used. As the result, holding an eraser in the same position and a comfortable way is as important as creating angles.

Polygon and screw thread makes angles while using an eraser.

Smooth and round shape were designed in order to hold an eraser in a comfortable way.

Details A normal eraser would be difficult to be used because of a small size. To solve the problem, a case for an eraser which suits hands shape was designed.

The arc of the curve make people hold an eraser more comfortably.

Size To m a ke t h e c a s e b e h e l d m o r e comfortable, we refered the web sizes of adults. As the result, the diameter of the case is 25mm, the height is 50mm and the pitch of screw is 15mm. When the easer is be rotated out, it will be the best height to be used.


Features There are two thick columns in the bottom of the case which would push an eraser up along the screw. Because of the tilt on top of eraser, one side of it will only be used. When users rotate the bottom of the case, the eraser will show a new angle on the other side.

The symmetry shape of the case makes all left-handed and right -handed users use it.

To change the volume of a headphone on intuition.


Background Headphones are the product that play sound and music. However, "controling volume " is complex of headphones. Usually we have to find other device to change volume.

Concept Move the control device onto the headphones. Usage and user experience are the first two things that we have to consider.

Features Set the control onto the headphones, and use by rotating the wheel. It will make users easier to control vulume and reduce posibility of wrong movement.

Three words was used to design this product. They are "share", "fold" and "shape". In addition to the three words, good user experience of controlling the amount of sugar is also the requestment.


Background When people add sugar into coffee from a sugar package, it might have the condition of not using up all sugar. Most people discard the remaining sugar due to its difficulty of preservation. If people save the remaining sugar in sugar packets, it can be used next time. This design can reduce waste on the premise of not increasing the packing and manufacturing process.

Concept Three words, "share", "fold" and "shape", were used to design a new sugar package. Also, it has to be easy for users to pour their ideal amount of sugar. After tring different shape and usage, we make out this sugar package.

Stage Two To make the kite-shape package, kraft that has cere on the surface is used. It was in kite-shape and could be opened, repackaged and was easy to pour sugar.

Correction Kite-shape package was unique but wasn't intuitional to use. As the result, it was changed to simple shape, trapezoid. Usage was easy, too.


Using Steps

There are three lines on the package, opening line, folding line and 1/2 line.

Fold the rest part. It becomes a new triangle. It is convenient to carry and use the rest.

Press and hold the middle of the slash of the packet, the sugar would be divided into two portions. It would facilitate adjusting the amount of sugar.

Fold down the right triangle.

Gather the rest sugar into the middle triangle after spilling the amount you want.

Fold down the left triangle.

Features The sugar package was in a simple shape and it wouldn't make extra wast during producing. The package also made it easy and safe to fold and store remaining sugar.
