6th Swiss Symposium Thermal Energy Storage Friday, 25 January 2019 Lucerne School of Engineering & Architecture

6th Swiss Symposium Thermal Energy Storage On behalf of the Swiss Competence Centre for Energy Research – Storage of Heat and Electricity (SCCER HaE), we are pleased to invite you to the 6th Swiss Symposium Thermal Energy Storage. This edition of the symposium will cover key aspects and recent developments in thermal energy storage, with topics such as novel storage materials and systems, as well as their integration in buildings and grids. As a highlight, the focus of this year will be on seasonal thermal energy storage and energy sector coupling. The concept of storing thermal energy in summer to satisfy the heat demand of buildings in winter, as well as coordinating the conversion between different energy vectors, appears to be simple. However, experience and current research trends show that the actual implementation is very challenging. At the SSTES, novel solutions to this challenge will be presented and discussed. At the symposium, stakeholders in thermal energy storage will meet enthusiasts from industry, utilities, building technology and academia. In addition to the various interesting and stimulating talks, the event will provide opportunities for discussions around common interests and an ideal networking platform to come up with innovative ideas and pioneer new solutions for thermal energy storage.
