Dear Rotaractors,
It gives me immense pleasure to share this DML to all of you. I believe you are still feeling energy as we were feeling the same in July 2015. I am looking forward to see you at some important events of Rotary & Rotaract coming up in few days. Zonal Conference for Ghazi Zone, ROTAWARE-KARACHI , Rotary District Conference and last but not the least Rotaract DISCON 2016. ROTARACT DISCON will held from 9th to 10 of April 2016. Every member of Rotaract District 3271 is encourage to take part actively in organizing, promoting and participating in the event . In this month I felt some laziness by the club presidents and Secretaries to send their club reports on time. Many of clubs are doing wonderful work but unable to send/compile their reports to the secretariat. I am expecting a positive response from all clubs in the coming month. Clubs are advised to hold your club elections before March 1st . As you all know DRR Nominations are open. Any club can nominate their eligible member for DRRN 2017-18 elections due time as guideline through email and other announcements.

Literacy Books Sorting & Packaging
SYED ASJAD AHMAD District Literacy chair We made a close estimate of 120 cartons respectively. The relevant members of Rotaract club of IoBM, Rotaract Karachi Garden & Rotaract Clifton worked very diligently and actively for this worthy cause. The team members worked in concerted collaboration with each other and tasks were assigned to each member which the particular member fulfilled earnestly. This was a teamwork which was performed in complete unison and with utmost efficiency by the Rotaract District. The Rotaract District 3271 was reached out to by Rotary with the task of making books ready to be donated to different places. Rotaract District 3271 took quick initiative in completing this task. The Rotaract District 3271 is immensely grateful to Rotary Pakistan Literacy Mission’s National Chair PDG.Faiz Kidwai, Rtn. Muhammad Hammad & Rtn. Kishwar Allahwala for providing this valuable platform to achieve a highly noble undertaking. It was a true learning experience. It gave us supreme pleasure to know that these books shall to be distributed to the blossoming future of Pakistan and that is the beautiful children of today. Let’s hope that these children transform our country into a more prosperous and peaceful place where no child is deprived of learning.

KCCI Role in Socia.Ecnomic Development Of Pakistan Rotaract Club Of Karachi Kolachi invited Mr Younus Bashir( President of KCCI) to share his knowledge about role of Karachi Chamber of Commerce in Socio-Ecnomic development of Pakistan. He described very briefly about KCCLI and its role. He also appreciate and encourage the efforts of Club president Dr anum with special thanks. Other senior Rotarians were also there in meeting including Rtn Abdul Qadar Jilani , DG.E Ovais Kohari , Rtn Aslam Ranger , Rtn Farrukh , Rtn Fahad , PDRR Arif Siddiqui , Rtn Tanweer Quadri, Rtn Anis Younus,Rtn Shazia and Rtn Sumaira . Different Rotaract club members also attended the meeting including Rotaract Club Garden , Rotaract Club Sea view and Rotaract club airport . Shield was presented by Dr Anum Akram to Yonus bashir . Rotary and Rotaract awareness Rotaract Club Karachi Garden Dist. 3271 Zone 6B felt hone to attend Iqra Real Islamic Schools’s Milad function and visited school to observe the educational system and to suggest what should be better for improving it and a special thing is we had a Senior Rotarians Miss Syeda Simran Hasan (RCKG President) Mr. Sheryar (Elected President of RCKG) Milad held on 6th January. Rotarians and rotaractors of Khi Garden made efforts to aware the locilty regarding rotaray, rotaract & polio missions.

Aurat by AISEC (2015) The Rotaract Club of Karachi Metropolitan has joined hands with AISEC Karachi in their initiative named ‘Aurat’. In this project, both the entities will be looking for female candidates who are either single/divorced and are having issues in supporting their families in making both ends meet every month.
Bliss by Metro Another episode of the ‘Bliss’ project was executed by the club during the month of December 2015. The club organized a blood drive at the DHA Suffa University where 50 pints of blood were collected. The NGO, that was the beneficiary is “Sada Welfare Organization” for which, the club has been partners with since 2007. Ex-member of the club, Anum Haroon is the daughter of the C.P of Sada Welfare, who have led similar projects in the past with the same organization. The project was led by Rtr. Usman Aref and Rtr. Ashar Farooqui.

Rotary Youth Talent Show Every year, the Rotary Club of Karachi Metropolitan organizes a youth talent show where mostly the participants are from Lyari, where Rotary Club of Karachi Metropolitan is running a number of schools. The talent show took place at the Arts Council in the month of December where the club members participated in good numbers. Rtn. Raza Tabish and Rtn. Nida Yousuf were also their along with the club members. The event lasted for 2 hours where different areas w.r.t talent were the highlights of the show that included dance performances, theatre, skids and group discussion.
Bulletin Exchange – Drug Abuse A bulletin was exchanged with the Rotaract Club of Hong Kong University, Hong Kong (D 3450). The purpose of the message was to share the troubles that our nation faces when it comes to Drugs. Similar views were exchanged by the Rotaractors of HKUSU. Light was shed on the kind of drugs that are misused by the youth in both nations and also on the steps taken by each other governments to stop the misuse. Letterhead exchange A bulletin was exchanged with the Rotaract Club of Lalitpur, Nepal (D 3292). The letterhead included the list of members with their designations and contact details along with the charter information and meeting locations.

Hijaab Awareness Program Purpose: The hijab is the head scarf worn by Muslim women Wearing one as a Muslim teenager may offer challenges Some wearers say they get strange looks and sometimes angry remarks But those who voluntarily wear it say it can help them in their faith and teen life Team Work: Rotaract club of Mirpurkhas Satellite Town and Knight Rider Club Nawabshah managed Hijab awareness program in Mirpurkhas at Sher Afzal Foundation where many of the students attended the program and participated in Speeches and Quiz, Mr. GM Soomro General Manager “Mirpurkhas Sugar Mill� was the chief guest there, both Club members participated well to make the program successful Result: A great program was came to an end, in last gifts was distributed to the participants and many of the girls agreed to wear Hijab.

Rotaract Club Karachi Sea View Organized an event in Orangi Town, Named “Inter School Naat & Hamd Competition� Dated 10 january 2016 At Zebaish Banquet . In this event 20 Schools participated with us Via one girl and one boy from each school in Naat and Hamd. We Gave First Second and Third Prize and Certificate To all The participators. In this event our Honorable Guest Were Assistant Governor Shafiq Qasmi and Our Senior Rotarian Of Rotary Club Karachi Seaview, Hassan Abbas Jafrey President Rotary Club Karachi Seaview ,Aalim Hashem General Secretary Rotary Club Karachi Seaview ,Wadhumal Karmani Treasurer Rotary Club Karachi Seaview And Rizwan Khanzada Vice President Of Lions Club Also Participated With us. Our Rotaractors of Rotaract Club Karachi Seaview Work Hard to make it well managed and highly disciplined program. CANCER PATIENT TREATMENT Patient Introduction: Ahsan Abid is a 28 year old who was suffering from mouth cancer. His cancer was on second stage. With emergent need of surgery to save Abid’s life, Immediate Past President of Rotaract club of IoBM came forward brought this case to us. Funding Ahsan’s treatment took place at Aga Khan University Hospital, which is known to be one of the best hospitals in Pakistan. The entire treatments cost was five lacs and eighty thousand rupees (PKR 580,000). Ahsan’s insurance policy from Adamjee Insurance covered two lacs of expenses (200,000). The remainder was the target on club’s hands. Rotary Parent club gave a generous amount of fifty thousand rupees. (50,000) IPP Muzamil Jawed, founder of Rotaract club of IoBM Taab Khan also arranged hefty amount of funds. The club raised one lac and fifty thousand rupees of fund in just one day. Post Surgery The surgery was a success, and the post ops went smooth as well. Community department did follow ups with ahsan and his family in a visit to AKU. LITERACY PROJECT The Rotaract Club of IoBM actively participated in the packaging of books that were donated mainly by USA and UK to the Rotary Karachi. It was wonderful experience for the members of IoBM. Other Rotaract Clubs of the district also participated in the project.
