Intro to Stress Reduction Through Mindfulness: Tools for Living with Greater Ease and Happiness
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a program that introduces mindfulness practices in the form of sitting meditation, body awareness, and mindful movement, modeled by Jon KabatZinn, PhD. This program can help if stress is having a negative impact on your life, if you are experiencing chronic physical or mental distress, or if you are simply interested in learning ways to maintain health and well-being. Over 6,000 research papers have published findings on MBSR including decreased depression, pain, and distress, and increased attention, concentration, performance, and quality of life.
• Approach your life with more composure, energy, understanding and enthusiasm
• Develop the ability to cope more effectively with both short-term and long-term stressful situations, gaining insight into skillful responses rather than painful reactions
• Enhance your ability to manage and reduce pain levels
• Improve your focus, resilience, and capacity to recover more quickly from challenging events
• Learn how to access and cultivate a natural capacity to care for and be more compassionate and kind to yourself and find greater balance, ease, and peace of mind
