Smithsonian Exhibition on Implicit Bias Coming toHudsonAlpha in April
The City of Huntsville will host “The Bias Inside Us” from April 24 through May 20, at the HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology (601 Genome Way, Huntsville, AL 35806).
“The Bias Inside Us” is a traveling exhibition that explores the social science and psychology of implicit bias, the impact of this bias and what people can do about it.
Through compelling images, hands-on interactive and powerful testimonials and videos, the exhibition unpacks and demystifies the concept of bias. Visiting “The Bias Inside Us” is free. This appearance marks the first time the exhibition will visit the state of Alabama. Visitors will participate in a self-guided tour exploring the foundational blocks of bias, the psychology of how bias forms and how it influences behaviors both consciously and unconsciously. The exhibit will be open weekdays from 10 a.m. till 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. Each Tuesday the exhibit will remain open until 7 p.m.

Alicia Owens 256-227-9043 Alicia@huntsvilleprofessionalcounseling.comFamily Counseling
We help by finding ways to improve family communication and resolve conflict. Family counseling is meant for specific issues that impact the function of a family, and it looks at the dynamics of the group.
Couples Counseling
When we feel unappreciated, criticized, and unheard we begin to give energy to defending ourselves instead of communicating to fix the root issue. We focus on overcoming conflict and building a stronger relationship between romantic partners.
