The Northeast Alabama 4-H Chick Chain project focuses on the poultry commodity group and teaches young people responsibility, managerial skills, and entrepreneurship. Each child receives 12 chicks in the spring and raises them for around 20 weeks. They are then asked to bring their 3 best birds of one breed to the show and auction.
Chick Chain Participants are asked to find donors who are willing to contribute financially to the Chick Chain fund which helps fund project awards, ribbons and professional support at the annual Chick Chain Sale and Auction that will be held on Saturday, September 30th at the DeKalb County VFW Fair.
If you would be willing to donate to this wonderful youth program, please detach the bottom of this flyer and mail to the Madison County Extension Office with a check or money order made out to the Alabama 4-H Foundation.
