Meet Your Instructor: Dr. Fayssal Safie is the Principal Technical Engineer for Reliability and Safety at A-P-T Research’s Safety Engineering and Analysis Center (SEAC) in Huntsville, AL. He has over 30 years’ experience in the areas of reliability, safety, risk assessment, and quality engineering. Before joining A-P-T Research, he worked at NASA as a prestigious Technical Fellow. His NASA career culminated at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) as a Senior Technical Lead Engineer. He received over 50 honors and awards from NASA including the NASA Exceptional Engineering Achievement Medal, The NASA Flight Safety Award, The NASA Quality Assurance Special Achievement Recognition (QASAR) Award, and The NASA Quality Excellence Award. Dr. Safie retired from MSFC in 2017 as the Agency Technical Fellow for Reliability and Maintainability Engineering. He has authored and published numerous technical papers on reliability and maintainability engineering enriched by his expansive space launch vehicle experience.
