How has the meaning of Christmas changed for you through the years from a child’s view to now? How will you celebrate Christmas this year?

The meaning of Christmas has greatly changed for me from when I was a child to now. As a child, Christmas was always the most exciting time of the year that I always looked forward to. I would be so eager to see what Santa had brought me that I could hardly fall asleep. As I grew older, I started to realize that Christmas wasn’t only about the festivities, and receiving all of those gifts. I realized that the true meaning of Christmas was to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and spend time with loved ones. I began to notice that giving gifts is much more rewarding than receiving gifts. This year, I will probably celebrate Christmas with my family by going to Mass on Christmas eve, and then going to a Christmas party and celebrating with all of my friends and family. BC
