Thread Study
Sometimes history is too heavy for people to read, the closed museum makes people feel even more suffocating. This project attempts to reduce such sense of heaviness of the traditional museum by creating modules of threading as the filter and the buffer. When the moment of tenderness, the translucency, and the serenity all come together, people may feel history less heavy at that moment.

This proposal unfolds the three registers of “life”: the maternal clinic incubates incoming life, the proposed urban farm introduces green life, and the radial form resembles circular cladogram, a diagram that demonstrates the relationships among living organisms. This project’s “sprouting out” radial plan both suggests the tenacity of life and the envisioned future for the Mill Creek neighborhood, a sustainable and culturally connected future with the urban farm functioning as the catalyst for locals to interact with each other via their common engagement with a greener life.

Image Composition Experiment
This project attempts to become an artistic catalyst to make more people of the Philadelphian community to participate in the creation and appreciation of the arts. Inspired by the Julie mehretu and afrofuturist idelas, I believe the color tunnel as one element of the new layer of urban graffiti could bring more opportunities to the west Philadelphian community. Ever since I graduated from the University of Sheffield, I put my time into working in a start-up architecture firm, XING DESIGN. I chose this company as my starting point was because I believed their workflow and high-pressure working environment was good for self-growth. Then I worked in Spark and KKAA (Kengo Kuma and Associates). These two company provided me with the opportunity to participate in different commercial and cultural programs. I enjoyed designing architecture in a crea-

The lotus lounge locates in the eco-tourism attractions in Changde. It is surrounded by water and has good view towards mountains. The lounge just looks like lotus floating on the water, which blends into the natural environment softly. In this project, I drew the conceptual plans and made graphics and booklet for presentation.
