Nørrebro is a vibrant and culturally diverse district of Copenhagen. Nørrebro Nyplads is located by a major transit hub of the city, and bordered by Nørrebrogade, the busiest bike traffic street in the world. The site used to be a bazaar site with mixed commercial activities. Current problems faced by the area is the lack of bike parking and a pedestrian-unfriendly streetscape. With the upcoming Metro Circle Line station in 2018, Nørrebro Nyplads square has a tremendous role in helping to rebrand the area and the surrounding neighborhoods as exciting, trendy and welcoming. This design emphasizes Nørrebro Nyplads as both a directional and recreational space, with stimulating paths and crosswalk illumination. Transit stops around the square are also redesigned to facilitate streamlined commute centering upon the S-train and Metro stations, with increased amount bike parking spaces integrated. The square offers an enjoyable space that residents, shoppers, and commuters alike can enjoy throughout the day. This is achieved by closing down one minor street, inverting several businesses (current indoor cafes, bakeries) to have storefronts outside, and providing ample seating space and fixtures.
Israels Plads is located only one block away from Nørreport Station the transit hub of not only the city but also the region. Surrounded by diverse mixed-use units with harmonious architecture, the square is also an entry point for the adjacent Ørstedparken that provides a green escape, and the upcoming central produce market. The square is facing problems such as inaccessiblity and pedestrian-unfriendliness. The sport facilities ground on the square also blocks vistas and spontaneous flows through the site, uninvitingly emphasizing the large negative space.
The ultimate solution is to redesign the space with organic forms, with the graduation of greenery from the park slowly morphing into concrete, naturally weaving through the urban blocks of the area, bringing all the elements together seamlessly.

FUTURE
The sports facilities are moved to the margin to open up the area for other activities, such as seasonal flea markets. A variety of seating options is installed and can be used by onsite cafes-restaurants or simply for casual hangouts and encounters. The area around the existing chess board surface can be used as picnic areas with easy access to the park down below. Side streets are closed to traffic; bike lanes will be widened, and other traffic will be one-way. There will also be more pedestrian crossings from Nørreport Station and the Produce Market. Israels Plads will also be a terminus for budget long-distance bus lines, thanks to its convenient location. With around-the-clock services, this will ensure consistent use of the square throughout the day.

BUSHNELL AVIARYLAND Hartford, Connecticut
Bushnell Park is the central green of the city of Hartford which we aspire to transform into an educational and recreational attraction for the region. The brand new Bushnell Aviaryland will become Hartford’s centerpiece, while seeking to be home to the bird biodiversity of the region, free for the exploration of all ages. The park also houses a visitor center where relevant exhibitions and events may take place, alongside being the daily workplace for wildlife specialists. The design especially incorporates the hilly nature of the site and expands the existing pond in order to naturally form exciting vantage points centering around the Aviary. Now, visitors can meditate pondside or stroll under the trees by the cliff, or simply take a nap on the grassy lawns.
The gigantic steel frame-glass structure resembles a bird’s nest which is meticulously acclimatized in order to be ideal for the resident bird species and ora. Therefore, the Aviary is able to be open all year round.

LE COIN RESIDENCE Rockport, Maine
“The Wedge” is a musician’s hobby lounge. Its 45-degree sloping facade with large glass windows maximizes sunlight into the interior, minimizes electricity use and creates an open-air feel.
A little secret and mischief; a little peace and seclusion. Simple and wooden. A house on the tree, where childhood simply happens to happen.

The Hartford - New Britain Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) will begin its operation in 2015. Future sustainable regional transit vision necessitates an expansion of this system into the rest of the Greater Hartford Region with the potentials for the Transit-Oriented Deveopment model. This transit map reects the combination of the planned Hartford-New Britain Line, my three other proposed extensions, and other connecting services.
