GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT Application Deadline: 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2012 – Park & Rec – Plan and supervise the maintenance of the public golf course and related facilities. Participate in all aspects of turf maintenance and construction of fairways, greens, traps, water systems, waterways and other golf course grounds according to PGA standards. Plan for and plant trees. Construct and maintain cart paths and tee boxes. Inspect all facilities under jurisdiction to determine effectiveness of programs and personnel. Act upon patrol complaints, requests and suggestions. Apply fungicides, insecticides, herbicides and fertilizers. Requisition supplies and equipment. Contact businesses and contractors in regard to needed equipment, materials, supplies and services. Assist in budget preparation and monitoring. Train employees and evaluate work performance. Prepare routine operational and unit records, bid specifications, quotes and project reports for the 5-year plan. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and four years of progressively responsible experience in golf course and greens maintenance. One year as a lead worker or supervisor. Ability to obtain EPA pesticide applicator’s license within one year of hire. Valid Nebraska driver’s license. Annual pay range is $49,755 to $70,029 d.o.e.
RECREATION LEADER Application Deadline: 4:30 p.m. Thurs. 11/08/12 – Coordinate, implement, supervise, teach and evaluate recreation classes, aquatic programs athletic classes, leagues and special events for persons of all ages in the community. Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Physical Education, or related field. $14.68 hr. with 12 step range to $20.67.
RECYCLING PROCESSOR PART-TIME Application Deadline: 4:30 p.m. Thurs. 11/08/12 – Under close supervision, sort recyclables and operate equipment in recycling operation, assemble metal or plastic refuse and recycling containers, perform building and ground maintenance. Education and experience equivalent to completion of eighth grade and experience in manual labor duties. Possession of valid Nebraska driver’s license or ability to secure adequate transportation to and from work. $9.02/hr.
