about me
My name is Wendy Klein and I live in Brisbane, Australia. I have always had an interest in photography. My photography
journey started almost five years ago when I decided I would like to learn photography. Photography and travel is truly my passion. Some say I am obsessed but it is a passion that burns strong within my soul.I love photographing sunrises and sunsets and I have a real love for long exposures with fast moving clouds. My favorite thing to photograph is long exposures. My images are testimonies of the landscape and seascape shots as I see them. I like to portray the landscapes as they speak to me. Photography gives me a sense of fulfilment and I hope my audience appreciate my work of art.
I have travelled overseas and Australia doing workshops, and learning and I have loved the adventure and connecting with
other like minded photographers that share the same passion as me. I love to discover, explore, inspire and create , so others can also enjoy my works of art.
To capture long exposures you do need to use filters. I use Nisi filters. I often do 3-5 minute exposures using my 10 stop
ND filter along with the medium graduated filter. My favourite lens is my Nikon 16-35mm along with the Nikon D850 and I often shoot in water and I use the sirui waterproof carbon fibre for that. I also have two other tripods for when I travel.
When I am preparing for a shoot I always plan ahead. That is very important. If you plan you know exactly the right com-
position for when you arrive to shoot on location. You have to research the weather and the clouds and tides to know exactly the best time to go. I use various apps to guide me when I go out to shoot. Planning is very important if you want to capture the best images. I always plan where I am going before heading the door. I always arrive early so I have plenty of time to set up and prepare for my shoot. Rushing around your mind may not be in the right frame and you can make mistakes. You want to take home a photo that is in focus and the correct exposure, one that you will be proud to edit and hang on your wall.
I have attended numerous photography workshops with some of the world’s best and well known photographers and they
helped me tremendously on my photography journey and have got me to where I am today, in which I am very grateful for that. I still get my inspiration from these fantastic photographers.
I am still constantly learning each day so I can challenge myself to do better. I have never been in competition with other
photographers and I am proud of other photographers’ work regardless where they are on their photography journey. We all have to start at the beginning and grow from there. I shoot for myself often preferring to shoot on my own.
My motto is practise practise practise!
I hope you appreciate my work and I would like to thank Hues and Pixels in sharing some of my work with other like minded photographers world wide. There are so many great photographers in this group and I get a lot of inspiration looking each day at what other photographers post.
