Welcome everyone to The Continental Pilot Field as we welcome the board, staff, management, coaches, players and supporters of Canvey Island.

Firstly I would like to just touch on the swell of support we are receiving towards Project Tilekiln. The understanding that a new ground and facilities really gives this club the opportunity to continue the amazing community outreach we’ve put in place the last three years and in my opinion increase it significantly makes the new ground not only great for Hastings United’s ambitions on the pitch but the town’s off the pitch.

Having worked with Daren and Peter for three years I can say that as CEO/Chairman even with the hard decisions they’ve always backed me to do what is best for this football club and I ask at

this time that you continue your support in allowing us to do it. Eastbourne isn’t somewhere any of us want to go, so we will keep working hard to make that possibility disappear.

A great point away from home for the lads Saturday at Bognor Regis Town, and another sign to show we are a top team in this division. Tonight I am expecting the atmosphere to be loud and proud and the lads will work hard to deliver three points in front of a bouncing Pilot Field.

O-0 at West Sussex rivals Bognor Regis on Saturday and another successful day for the defence which has seen the return of Finn O'Mara. Nothing more, I'm sure, than supporters would like to see than the long term return of Finn to the defence. One of those problems a manager must relish - who to put on the bench out of a great selection. The same applies up front - all the more so with the addition to the squad of Jahmal Hector-Ingram. Welcome Jahmal.

Top Tweet from Bognor Regis on Sunday paying tribute to the sizeable U's contingent. I have been slobbing around in Tshirt and shorts for just over 3 weeks - they will've been put away this Saturday and cold weather gear as on display here will be reluctantly pulled on again. Back into Gatwick on Friday.

This is a good layout of football's structure from Premier League to County League. Fingers crossed Editor-in-Chief Hoggard can reproduce it legibly here. I found it on an AFC Totton sitehence the 'special mention' in the step 4 layer of Southern League Div 1 South which is where Totton kicked off this season. Ben Rochey-Adams gets credit for the diagram.

There is surely more to come - at pro level. There's been talk for years of reviving the old regional set up - 3rd Divisions North and South which ran till the 1957-58 season. This was pretty much the equivalent of today's National League's North and South divisions which started in 2004-05.

24 clubs each, top 12 from Div 3 South and Div 3 North formed the new look Football League Div 3 and the bottom 12 from 3S and 3N formed the new look Football League Div 4. A huge increase in travelling would've resulted.

At semi pro level - the game is overloaded with administrators and empires. All overseen by the FA which imposed some unbelievable directives on the game as the big restructure went through - none more so than play off winners being denied promotion 4 seasons ago.

We now have pyramids within the overall pyramid. Three Isthmian step 4 divisions feed into the Isthmian Premier and three step 4 Northern Premier League clubs feed into their Premier Division. The overall result in the Isthmian 'pyramid' is 6 clubs go up from Step 4 but only 4 come down from Step 3 which results in cross league shuffles with the Southern League to balance the clubs out.

Basically it's all about 8 step 4 divisions kicking off a new season with 20 clubs each. And 3 empires overseeing them - Northern Prem, Southern and Isthmian who will have to swap clubs to get that 20 per division allocation. Geographical location can also decide what League you end up in - up to National South / North level. Cambridge City a good examplethey've played in all three of those empires. Whatever, most of the dust seems to have settled at last but you have to wonder if that bottom tier of the EFL is due a shake up.

Wow, what is happening down in the Channel lslands this last few seasons - Saturday saw them go down 8-0 in their Isthmian Central game at Basingstoke. 8-0 Still recall that first season we played them 2013-14, three games including an FA Cup tie - and we lost the lot. Going to the away game at Footes Lane that season saw me fly for the first time since 197934 grounded years. Fear of flying phobia fixed and now I virtually commute to the Philippines. Hope things pick up for The Green Lions.

Things carry on as they are, they'll get replaced by Jersey Bulls.

Carshalton hit Potters Bar for five, Hornchurch leave it late, Canvey hit three, and we've a crucial win for Casuals. It's our Pitching In Isthmian Premier round up.

It’s been an uncomfortable week at Potters Bar Town. Suddenly and surprisingly without a manager, after Sammy Moore’s unexpected move to bottom-of-the-South-East-Division Faversham Town, the Scholars travelled to Carshalton Athletic and conceded three first half goals, Ollie Cook, Tommy Bradford and Femi Akinwande with them. Akinwande added a fourth twelve minutes after the restart, before Nick Dembele continued his good scoring run when making it six goals in eight matches, pulling one back for the Scholars just after the hour. They managed a second soon afterwards, Quentin Monville reducing the arrears, but the last word went to Akinwande, who clinched the match and his hat trick by scoring his side’s fifth from the spot. Adam Martin was dismissed for the Scholars, who drop to second, whilst the Robins go fifth.

Hornchurch were on the road for an Essex derby, as they faced Bowers and Pitsea. The Urchins had only one defeat from their previous thirteen league matches, and they went back to the top of the table with some late, late drama. By the time we got to the last minute it looked as if the hosts had earned a point, but suddenly we got the action the previous eighty nine minutes had been crying out for, although Bowers will think we got too much of it. First, Liam Nash put the visitors ahead, and then Ugonna Emenike saw red for Bowers. Then Dexter Peter saw red for the hosts, and Sam Higgins converted a penalty. And that turned out to be that - perhaps we should just have kicked off after eighty-eight minutes? Pity anyone who left early to beat the traffic!

Aveley, in third place, were on the road to Horsham - who knocked them out of the FA Trophy in October, the Hornets coming from twonil and three-one down to win. The Millers created most of the drama in this one, going down to ten men, coming from behind to lead, then con ceding an equaliser right at the death and seeing a second play red carded. The Hornets looked comfortable with an hour gone, a goal to the good through Tom Kavanagh and then a player up after Ryan Scott saw red for the Millers, but the ten men suddenly stepped up a gear and scored two, Ben Allen with both of them. As we neared the end the equaliser arrived, Eddie Dsane with it, and Millers sub Garret Kelly then saw red.

We had a rather stormy match as Enfield Town welcomed Bishop’s Stortford. There may have only been one goal, but there were four red cards- three of them going to the Towners, who ended the match with eight men! Donell Thomas got that goal, a beauty for the visitors from just outside of the box, but just before the hour all hell broke loose. A fracas saw Harry Beadle leave with a bloody nose and a red card, swiftly followed by James Richmond and Lewis Knight for the hosts. Towners boss Andy Leese apparently also picked up a red card, and it seems Anthony Wordsworth also saw red late on. That’s four defeats out of four for Enfield against the Blues.

Canvey Island, in seventh place, were potentially only a win away from the top five, and they welcomed a fast improving Folkestone Invicta. Invicta h ad suddenly found form, scoring seven goals and conceding only one as they won their last two matches, but they fell behind midway through the first half to Bradley Sach’s effort, and Sach then rubbed salt in the Invicta wounds by adding two more to end their revival in the second half. The Gulls stay seventh but close the gap on the top five to two points.

Bognor regis Town welcomed Hastings United in a Sussex seaside bash. The hosting seasiders started the day four points and seven places behind the visiting seasiders, but were on a good run until Haringey Borough came to call and ended it last weekend. They’d since added Portsmouth striker Dan Gifford on loan to boost their firepower, and he started, but it turned out that neither side had any firepower - or any goals.

Kingstonian welcomed Cray Wanderers to Tooting. The K’s had taken only one point from their last three league matches but each of those had been on the road- and they’d been much better at home, winning their last three at Imperial Fields, so were hopeful of another digit in the W column. They didn’t get one, however, the only goal of the game going to the visitors, Sam Wood scoring it on seventeen minutes.

Haringey Borough defended doggedly and didn’t look too bad going forward either as they defeated Bognor last weekend, and they welcomed Lewes to White Hart Lane hoping for two wins out of two against Sussex sides. They went ahead after just ten minutes, William Dupray with the goal, but the Rooks levelled just before the break through Razz Coleman de-Graft and went ahead six minutes after it, TQ Ad dy with their second. That turned out to be that, the Rooks winning only their second away match of the season and climbing to eleventh.

We’d two crucial matches at the wrong end of the table. Bottom side Corinthian-Casuals welcomed the side two places and two points above them, Brightlingsea regent, and it was the visitors who took the lead, Luke Woodward scoring midway through the first half. The equaliser came on the hour, and it went to Nathaniel Pinney, and ten minutes later the hosts got the winner, Reuben Collins lifting them above their visitors to twentieth - five points from safety.

Second bottom Herne Bay welcomed a side just outside of the bottom four, Wingate & Finchley. Bay, seven points from safety, were desperate to win this one- but they hadn’t won a league match since October 11th and they fel l behind in this one, Elliot Long scoring seven minutes into the second half. They did grab a point, however, Dan Johnson equalising just before the end.

JAHMAL HECTOr-InGrAM SIGnS On AT HASTInGS UnITED

Hastings United have announced the signing of striker Jahmal Hector-Ingram.

Jahmal was a youth player with both West Ham United, playing for the Under 18 and Under 21 sides, and then moved to Derby County, playing for the Under 23's and eventually graduating to play for the Rams first team.

He spent some time on loan at Stevenage, and then went north of the border where he played for St Johnstone. This is his first spell at our level - and indeed seems to be his first spell away from the full-time professional game, so is something of a coup for Hastings.

STrIKEr DAvID SMITH SIGnS On AT MArGATE - On LOAn

Striker David Smith was magnificent for Folkestone Invicta last season, scoring 35 goals - form which saw him snapped up by National league Bromley in the summer. And now David is back in the Pitching In Isthmian Premier, having made a loan move to Margate.

David signed for Invicta in the summer of 2020. He was picked up by the stripes after a scintillating season with Ashford United, 23 goals in 41 appearances.

He moved to the Nuts and Bolts from Dover Athletic. He originally came through the Academy at Maidstone United.

He scored two goals in eight matches for Hornchurch earlier this season.

Club: Canvey Island Football Club

Club Founded: 1926

Nicknames: The Gulls, The Islanders, Yellows

HISTORY

The Club was founded in 1926, but unfortunately most of the early records of the Club were lost in the devastating East Coast floods of 1953. The Club were very successful during their days in the local leagues, winning many cups and league championships in the process. During these years, the club appointed Denis Neville as manager, his first job after leaving his position as the Dutch National Team manager.

However, the club had drifted away towards the end of the 1980’s, and the very existence of Canvey Island FC was in serious doubt. When it looked as though the end was near, local businessman and former Canvey player Jeff King took over as manager, as well as helping to generate funds to take the club forward.

Canvey the enjoyed a meteoric rise up the football pyramid, the success starting in 1993 where The Gulls won the Essex Senior League and reached the semi-final of the FA Vase.

The Club then gained promotion to the Isthmian League in 1994 and won promotion from Division Three and Division Two in successive seasons. In 1995/96 after beating Conference team Hednesford Town in the FA Cup they reached the First Round Proper and drew 2-2 with Football League team Brighton & Hove Albion at Park Lane in front of a then ground record crowd of 3,400. The replay was lost at Brighton in front of a crowd of over 7,000. As well as winning Division Two the team were also winners of the Carlton Trophy and Thames-side Trophy.

The season 1998/99 was yet another exciting one for the supporters as the Club won the Division One

championship and the Essex Senior Cup, beating Leyton Orient in the final. Season 1999/2000 was the Club's first season in the Premier Division of the Ryman League and they finished a very creditable fifth in the League and retained the Essex Senior Cup, defeating Purfleet in the Final.

The following season had seen the team win the FA Trophy by beating Forest Green Rovers 1-0 in the final in front of over 10,000 people at Villa Park and thousands more watching live on television. To win the FA Trophy they had to beat four Conference League teams in succession - Stevenage Borough, Telford United, Chester City (over two legs) and Forest Green.

Earlier in the season the Club had another great FA Cup run and after beating Braintree Town, King's Lynn and Cambridge City they were drawn against Port Vale from the Second Division of the Football League. In an exciting match at Park Lane they drew 4-4 after being 4-2 down with only two minutes left to play. However, even better was to follow as they went to Port Vale and beat them 2-1 after extra time.

They were then drawn at home to Football League neighbours Southend United. To accommodate the number of people wishing to see the game, Canvey agreed to transfer the match to Southend's Roots Hall ground. A capacity crowd of 11,400 people saw the game, with record gate receipts for a game at Southend, and Canvey were narrowly beaten.

These tremendous cup runs took their toll in the League. With a large number of matches being postponed on opponents’ grounds because of waterlogged pitches, it meant they had to complete the season with ten league games in fifteen days and consequently dropped points that may have taken them to the league title and a place in the Conference League. However, it was still a fine performance to finish runners-up in their second season in the Premier Division.

The Club had enjoyed a then record-breaking season the following year when they reached the 3rd Round Proper of the FA Cup for the first time. On the way they beat five teams including two from the Second Division of the Football League, Wigan Athletic at the JJB Stadium, and Northampton Town in front of a full house at Park Lane and five million television viewers on 'Match of the Day Live'. Burnley finally knocked them out in a memorable game at Turf Moor.

They finished runners-up in the Ryman Premier League, despite winning thirty games and scoring 108 goals, and in defending the FA Trophy the team had a fine run before narrowly losing away to the eventual winners, Yeovil Town. The team did, however, end the season with silverware when winning the Essex Senior Cup, beating Dagenham & Redbridge in the final.

Canvey had another fine League season the previous year, finishing runners-up in the Ryman Premier League. Although this was another superb performance, finishing thirteen points clear of the third placed club, it was tinged with disappointment as it was the third season running the Club had finished runners-up in their quest to reach the Conference League. Towards the end of the season the Club had a ground record attendance of 3,553 when playing the eventual champions Aldershot Town in a midweek League game. However, the disappointment was a mark of how far the Club had progressed over the last decade, since winning the Essex Senior League.

The next season saw Canvey reach the goal they had been working towards for the previous four years, as they won the Ryman Premier League by a margin of nineteen points. Canvey also reached the FA Trophy final and the 1st Round of the FA Cup. The League was clinched at Easter with seven games still to play and the team finally finished with a total of 104 points. The FA Trophy run included wins over Conference teams Farnborough Town and Telford United, in the two-legged semi-final, before losing 3-2 in an exciting final at Villa Park against Hednesford United. After a fine run in the FA Cup the team was narrowly beaten at home 3-2 by Third Division neighbours Southend United, after a 1-1 draw at Roots Hall.

Canvey’s first season in the Conference they finished in 18th position in the League table, achieving their initial aim of consolidation. The season started well with a draw at Carlisle United, in front of a 7,000 crowd, on the opening day and just one defeat in the first seven games, against the eventual champions Barnet. After this the Club lost some key players through injury for several months and struggled in the middle part of the season but came back strongly at the end to seal their status for a second season.

The following season saw the club achieve its highest ever league position, as they earned a respectable 14th place. However, the lack of success compared to previous seasons had taken its toll on the attendances, so much so that Jeff King made the decision to withdraw his financial and footballing interests from the club. However, the supporters of the club rallied together to allow the team to continue playing the following year in the Ryman League Division 1 North.

John Batch take over as manager for the 2006/07 campaign, with his reserve side from the previous season making up the bulk of the squad. A learning curve for all concerned very nearly ended up in promotion, though The Gulls narrowly missed out on a playoff place, finishing 6th on the last day of the season.

Canvey went one better the following season, gaining promotion to the Ryman Premier League through the Playoffs. A run of 5 wins from our final 6 games earned us a place in the playoffs, and after beating AFC Sudbury away 3-2 after extra time, The Gulls travelled to Redbridge for the final. After the match finished 1-1 after extra time, Canvey won a nail biting penalty

shootout 5-4 to earn promotion. During this season, Canvey also knocked out Ryman Premier League side Maidstone United from the FA Trophy, and reached the final of the Essex Thameside Trophy.

Manager John Batch stood down in January 2012, with the club lying in 10th place in the Ryman Premier League, with first team coach Glen Alzapiedi stepping up to take over as manager. He guided the club to lift the Essex Senior Cup for the first time in a decade with a 1-0 victory against League One side Colchester United at Thurrock FC's Ship Lane. Having defeated another Football League side, Dagenham & Redbridge, on penalties in the semi-finals, a headed goal from Rob King with 7 minutes to play won Canvey the cup without having conceded a goal throughout the competition.

Alzapiedi left the club in July 2012 and was replaced by former-Canvey captain Steve Tilson, who five years previously was managing in the Championship with Southend United. Tilson’s reign only lasted one season before he was replaced with another ex-Canvey player in Danny Heale.

After staying up on the last day of the season in 2015. Canvey were relegated on the same day of the following season for the first time due to league position in 19 years. The club's first season in the Bostik North nearly ended in an immediate return, reaching the playoff final but losing 3-1 away to Haringey Borough.

The Gulls picked up their first piece of silverware in six years ahead of the 2018/19 season, beating reigning Bostik North champions AFC Hornchurch 2-1 to win the Isthmian Charity Shield.

Former-Southend United and Gillingham played Mark Bentley took over as manager in October 2018. After finishing 9th in the Isthmian Division One North in his

first season, his next two seasons were cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, the 2020/21 season did turn out to be a memorable one, with Bentley leading the Gulls into the 2nd Round Proper of the FA Cup. Wins against Ware, Dereham Town, Biggleswade, Bedfont Sports and Cray Wanderers earned Canvey an away tie against higherdivision Banbury United in the 1st Round. Live on BBC television, goals from Conor Hubble and Elliott Ronto saw Canvey progress 2-1 and land a home tie against National League outfit Boreham Wood.

With a home match against Millwall the reward, Canvey were beaten 3-0 at Park Lane. However, much-needed television revenue was brought thanks to the match being shown live on BT Sport.

Manager Mark Bentley stepped down from his role in October 2021 with the club top of the Isthmian League North, leaving to join the new first team coaching team at Southend United. Assistant manager Brad Wellmen stepped up into the role, assisted by coach Sammy Knott.

Wellmen and Knott achieved a second-place finish, earning qualification into the playoffs. A 3-1 win at home to Felixstowe & Walton United in the semi-final setup a final at Park Lane against Brentwood Town. In front of a crowd of 2,532, Canvey fell behind early but levelled before the break through Matthew Price. The two sides could not be separated after 120 minutes, meaning that promotion would be decided on penalties. Brentwood failed to convert two of their spot kicks, while Canvey scored all four of theirs to spark wild celebrations.

CHARLEE JACKSON - Goalkeeper - Young keeper who signed for the club shortly after his 16th birthday having trained with the squad throughout our 2021/22 promotion-winning campaign.

BOBBY MASON - Goalkeeper - Highly-rated shot-stopper who joined us in August 2020 from Great Wakering Rovers. He was a pivotal part of our run to the FA Cup 2nd Round Proper in his first season, saving five penalties in a shootout victory against Biggleswade. He was voted into the ‘Team of the Second Round’ and would end up producing more saves than any other goalkeeper in the entire competition. Among his former clubs he lists Aveley, Hullbridge Sports, Thurrock. Witham Town.

REISS CHANDLER - Defender - Young full back who arrived ahead of the 2022/23 season from Southend United. He has previously spent time with Bishop’s Stortford, Harlow Town and Aveley.

MICHAEL FINNERAN - Defender - Central defender who joined in June 2019 from Bostik North rivals Grays Athletic. A local lad, Michael supported Canvey as a child, going on to play for the youth team and reserve team before leaving in search of first team football. Having cut his teeth in the Essex Senior League, he went on to captain Romford in the Bostik North before joining Grays in February 2018 where he played regularly in the heart of their defence.

BILLY FIRMAN - Defender - Young defender who joined the first team in the summer of 2022, having previously played for the clubs U16’s.

ROB GIRDLESTONE - Defender - Central defender who signed from Maldon & Tiptree in August 2020. Rob came through the West Ham United Academy system before joining Chelmsford City in the National League South in 2014. He moved across Essex to join Concord Rangers two years later, making 76 appearances for the club and picking up the Players' Player of the Year and Supporters' Player of the Year accolades. He joined Maldon & Tiptree in 2018 and was part of their excellent side in 2019/20 that reached the Emirates FA Cup 2nd Round and was on course to win the Isthmian League North before the season was cancelled.

MASON HALL - Defender - Centre back who signed for the club in September 2020 having last played for Heybridge Swifts. Having come through the youth setup at Leyton Orient, he went on to have spells with Greenwich Borough and Wingate & Finchley.

ODEI MARTIN SORONDO - Defender/MidfielderVersatile player who joined permanently from Concord Rangers in June 2022 following a dual-registration. From the Basque town of Irun in Spain, Odei was part of the Heybridge Swifts squad that won the Isthmian North Playoff Final in 2019 without being promoted. He joined Concord Rangers that summer, going on to play for the Beachboys in the 2020 FA Trophy Final.

TOBI TINUBU - Defender/Midfielder - Comfortable either at wing back or in midfield, Tobi signed for the club ahead of the 2021/22 season after an impressive trial period. He has played for Tower Hamlets during the previous campaign.

LUCA ALBON - Midfielder - Talented midfielder who joined the club in the summer of 2022. He was part of the Charlton Athletic academy before moving into senior football, playing in the Isthmian Premier with Bowers & Pitsea and Cray Wanderers.

CONOR HUBBLE - Midfielder - Attacking midfielder who signed from Maldon & Tiptree in August 2020. Conor began his career with Queens Park Rangers. He moved on to Colchester United where he progressed through the academy to play in the Football League. After loan spells with Leiston he joined the Suffolk side on a permanent basis in 2015, going on to play for Billericay Town, Leiston again, Coggeshall Town and Maldon & Tiptree. Scored 16 times last season and was named in the 2021/22 Isthmian North Team of the Year.

JOE PAxMAN - Midfielder - Joined the club from Grays Athletic ahead of the 2022/23 campaign. He has previously played for several local clubs including East Thurrock United, Thurrock, Romford, Great Wakering Rovers, Aveley and Tilbury.

ELLIOTT RONTO - Midfielder - Australian midfielder who joined the club from Heybridge Swifts in July 2020. Played for several clubs in his native Australia before resuming his career in the UK with Bishop's Stortford. He went on to join Witham Town before signing for Heybridge in the winter of 2018.

Scored 32 goals last season and provided a similar number of assists, earning himself a place in the Isthmian North Team of the Year.His previous clubs include Wealdstone, Chelmsford City, Bishop's Stortford, Billericay Town, Concord Rangers, Enfield Town, Aveley, Potters Bar Town, Northwood and Mildenhall Town.

DANNY PARISH - Forward - Talented striker who joined the club in summer of 2022 from Hastings United. A product of the Brentford youth system, he had prolific goal-scoring spells at Ashford United and Maldon & Tiptree before trying his hand in the National League with Wealdstone.

BRADLEY SACH - Forward - Attacker who arrived from Bowers & Pitsea in January 2022 having previously played for Boreham Wood, Potters Bar Town and Aveley. Scored 10 goals last season, including 5 in our record 13-0 victory over Romford in April.

Bradley netted a hat-trick on Saturday in Canvey’s 3-0 win over Folkestone Invicta. Scoring on 25, 72 and 87 minutes. Bringing his season goals to date at 10.

BRAD WELLMEN - Manager - Experienced coach who joined the club in the summer of 2013 having spent 16 years coaching in the USA with Chicago Fire. Promoted to assistant manager in November 2017 and then to manager in November 2021, leading the club to promotion via the Isthmian North playoffs in his first season.

SAMMY KNOTT - Assistant Manager - Signed as a player in June 2019 from Waltham Abbey before retiring through injury and joining the coaching team. He is the son of ex-Gulls player from the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, Steve Knott. Sammy played for our successful Academy side before moving into senior football with the likes of Concord Rangers, Aveley and East Thurrock United. Promoted to assistant manager in November 2021.

SQUAD UPDATE

First Team manager Brad Wellmen has recently updated his playing squad.

Arriving at the club is talented left-back Sam Mvemba, who joins from Carshalton Athletic.

The 22-year-old defender cut his teeth in the Isthmian League, playing for the likes of Aveley, Bishop’s Stortford and Welling United amongst others.

The Gulls have also reported a recent departure as left back Callum Sturgess has left the club. The defender joined the Gulls in the summer and made 9 appearances for the club, his playing time limited after picking up an injury against Hornchurch.

Sevenoaks winger ryan Gondoh is new at Lewes

Lewes had a new name in their squad for their victory at Haringey Borough on Saturday - and he made a second-half debut from the bench. Winger Ryan Gondoh moves up from Sevenoaks Town.

Ryan was a youth player with Whyteleafe before playing briefly for Carshalton Athletic and then signing for Barnet. Whilst at Barnet he had Isthmian Le ague loans with Hendon and Staines Town, before then signing permanently for Met Police. In 2016-17 he made six starts for the boys in Blue, and also featured for Kingstonian- mainly from the bench- and Carshalton once more, where he scored three goals in twelve appearances. But it was in 2017-18 where he really came to prominence, playing so well for Maldon & Tiptree that he earned himself a move to Colchester United.

He made six appearances for Colchester, before moving to National League FC Halifax Town. He then spent time with Concord Rangers and returned to Whyteleafe, before moving up, playing for Hampton & Richmond Borough, Wealdstone and Ayr United. He scored nine goals in twenty appearances for Oaks this season, and played as his former side lost narrowly against the Rooks at The Dripping Pan in October.

Tyler Christian-Law signs for Horsham

Midfielder Tyler moves across from current League high flyers Potters Bar Town, where he has been playing since the start of February. He made nineteen appearances last season, and another eighteen this season. He has scored four goals during this campaign, including one against his new club as they defeated the Scholars three-two on Bonfire Night.

He has a considerable list of previous clubs, some at a higher level, some in Step Four. They include Coggeshall Town, Witham Town, Wealdstone, Braintree Town, Hanwell Town, Wingate & Finchley and Margate.

Sammy Moore departs Potters Bar Town

Shock news from the Lantern Stadium, as Potters Bar Town have confirmed the departure of manager Sammy Moore.

Moore joined the club at the end of January, and took them from nineteenth place up to thirteentha full seventeen points above the drop zone, as opposed to one when he took over.

MARINERS RAID WEALDSTONE TO LAND JORDY MONGOY ON LOAN

Forward Jordy Mongoy has signed for South Shields on a 28-day loan.

The 23-year-old has joined from National League club Wealdstone, having had previous spells with other sides including Dagenham and Redbridge, Lewes, Hastings United and Bognor Regis.

Step 3 South Shields, who enjoy average league attendances around 2,000, are currently top of the Northern Premier League – Premier Division.
