TWINS STAFF DavePruemer Head athletic trainer

Dave Pruemer is in his 22nd season in the Twins organization and fourth as Head Athletic Trainer after serving eight seasons as Assistant Athletic Trainer. Pruemer attended the University of Southern Illinois, where he received his B.S. in Athletic Training. A native of Teutopolis, IL, he began his career with the Twins organization in 1995 and served as Athletic Trainer for Rookie Elizabethton. After one year at Elizabethton, Pruemer was promoted to Single-A Ft. Myers, where he spent the 1996-97 seasons. He was the Athletic Trainer for Double-A New Britain from 1998-2001, and was named the Eastern League Trainer of the Year in 2000. Selected by Major League Baseball to work the Arizona Fall League in 2001 and 03, Pruemer also served as the Twins Triple-A athletic trainer from 2002-04. He was named International League Trainer of the Year in 2004 and was named the Head Athletic Trainer for the American League for the 2014 All-Star Game held at Target Field. Dave and his wife, Tina, along with daughter, Hannah, and sons, Dylan and Tyler, live in Woodbury, MN.

TonyLeo

Assistant athletic trainer Tony Leo is in his 19th season with the Twins organization and his sixth as Assistant Athletic Trainer. Leo attended Bowling Green State University, where he received his B.S. in Sports Management with an Athletic Training emphasis. A native of Salem, OH, he began his career in 1997 with the GCL Twins. Leo was hired full time in 1998 and served as the Trainer for Rookie Elizabethton. He was promoted to Single-A Quad Cities, where he spent the 2000-01 seasons. Leo was the Trainer for Double-A New Britain from 2002-04, and was named the 2003 Eastern League All-Star Trainer. In 2005, Leo was promoted to Triple-A Rochester and selected by MLB to work the Arizona Fall League. He served as the Triple-A Trainer from 2005-10 and selected as the Triple-A All-Star Game Trainer in 2009. Leo is also a Fellow of Applied Functional Science (FAFS) through the Gray Institute. Tony, his wife, Jennifer, and their daughter, Olivia, live in Schaumburg, IL.

LanningTucker

Assistant athletic trainer and Rehab Coordinator Lanning Tucker is in his fourth season in the major leagues as Assistant Athletic Trainer and Rehab Coordinator for the club. His first season in the Twins Minor League system was 1992 and has worked at various levels in the Minor Leagues from 1992-98. From 1999 to 2012 he served as the Head Minor League Athletic Trainer and Rehab Coordinator. Lanning earned his Bachelor’s degree at Texas A&M University in 1987 and his Master’s degree from the United States Sports Academy in 1992. Lanning has two sons, Aaron and Bryan, and resides in Ft. Myers, FL.

PerryCastellano Strength and Conditioning Coach

Perry Castellano enters his 17th season as a strength coach in professional baseball. 2016 will mark his 10th season as the Director of Strength and Conditioning for the Twins. He spent five years as the Minor League Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for the Twins and two years with the Texas Rangers. His responsibilities include dayto-day instruction for the major league club, as well as developing and designing various programs throughout the entire organization. Castellano, 56, was the 2010 recipient of the Nolan Ryan Award, given to the MLB Strength Coach of the year and was selected as the American League Strength and Conditioning Coach for the 2014 MLB All-Star Game at Target Field. Perry received a B.Sc. degree in Kinesiology from Pepperdine University and an M.A. degree in Management from National University in San Diego. Perry, wife, Lori, and sons, Cory and Brady, reside in Cape Coral, FL.

NateDammann Bullpen Catcher

Nate Dammann is in his 10th season as bullpen catcher for the Twins. His responsibilities include preparing the field for batting practice, as well as catching pitchers in the bullpen prior to and during games. In addition, he assists Twins minor league coaches during Instructional League and has traveled to the Twins Academy in the Dominican Republic to coach minor league players each of the past four off-seasons. Dammann is a 2004 graduate of Hamline University in St. Paul, with a degree in Secondary Education. He played four years of baseball for the Pipers and also played quarterback on their football team. Nate, wife, Kate, and daughters, Ada and Avery, reside in St. Paul, MN.
