PROJECT 1 Replanning of the Intertidal Zone in Vungtau, Vietnam 2019.3-2019.6
In the background of rapid urbanisation, the traditional agricultural land there is occupied. One part of the land is used for industrial development, the other is an intertidal zone that is meant for specific farming. The intertidal culture not only makes use of the tide water in and outflows to increase the output, but also discharges a lot of the eutrophication waste in the sea water, which is harmful to the marine ecosystem. In addition, as the tourism centre of Vietnam, Vungtao attracts thousands of tourists to discover the aquaculture and seaside beach vacation every year. Hence, I designed the area from a tourism development angle and to better manage the problem from pollution.

In the background research of this project, I learned that in Southeast Asia, there are many countries like Indonesia, which have 2000 mm of precipitation annually. The cities suffer from water logging problems, while the industrial development causes large scale pollution of the urban water network. These factors along with the resident’s water consumption have become major problems. It seems contradictory that sufficient precision and ground water cannot meet the water demand of the public, but this is because of the development of the city. Residents and factories have no choice, but to rely on groundwater. Over exploitation of groundwater leads to irreversible subsidence of the city, which further aggravates the problems brought by the flood...

PROJECT 3 North Beach Waterfront City Park Design 2019.5-2019.6
This design starting point was to consider the user needs of a variety of people. The treatment method of the intersection point between the park entrance and the subway station, community and road was to create a distribution space for people to rest. This was done by using the wide entrance area with seats and arbours shading to attract tourists. In order to make the park safe, convenient, scenic and ornamental, the design focuses on the relationship between the site and the adjacent watercourse,and using the advantage of water to provide leisure and entertainment options for a variety of users, meanwhilethe site also serves as the city's spongy body to protect the city from the threat of river flooding
