South Slope Brewery Hi-Wire’s South Slope Specialty Brewery is the creative hub of Hi-Wire. Their journey began in the summer of 2013 at this 2,700-square-foot South Slope Brewery. Today it has transitioned from brewing a wide variety of one-time-release ales and lagers to brewing exclusively sour and wild beers. Although this shift does not change Hi-Wire’s core lineup of beers, it makes it one of the nation’s only breweries to have a speciality program that revolves around both craft lagers and sour beers. Visitors of this dog-friendly, laid-back taproom can expect to find a range of Hi-Wire’s flagship and seasonal beers on tap as well.

Local Beer, Local
Eating Asheville and the surrounding mountain communities are a food-lover’s paradise, but don’t take our word for it: Garden & Gun lauds Asheville as one of “The South’s Best Food Towns” (September 2017), and Southern Living includes Asheville as one of “15 Southern Cities All Food Lovers Should Visit Now,” (August 2017). The multitude of award-winning chefs rivals any city, large or small, in the country. Bon Appetit states that “… Asheville may be the best small city to eat and drink in right now. We’d bet our biscuits on it.” (March, 2015). The variety of restaurants, from BBQ to vegan, amazes even the most seasoned foodie. So pair up that fine local beer with Asheville’s innovative cuisine and experience firsthand the one-two combination of great beer and fine food, right here in the mountains of Western North Carolina!
