Success Stories from HSTB
Yoshi An older Shiba Inu named Yoshi was discovered wandering the streets by a kind stranger early one morning. The Good Samaritan brought him to HSTB, where the medical staff found a microchip during a routine exam. The owner was called right away and came to pick up Yoshi within the hour. Thanks to the microchip, Yoshi was able to return home safely and soundly.
Jaguar Imagine finding an adorable kitten hiding in your car engine! This is exactly what happened to a man who then took apart the entire front of his car to free the scared kitten, now named Jaguar. Fortunately, HSTB's team took care of Jaguar, providing him breakfast and snuggling him in a warm blanket. As the weather gets colder, remind your parents to check their car engine and wheel wells for any furry friends seeking shelter!

Did You Know? Fred Silverman, one of the creators of Scooby Doo, was listening to the song “Strangers in the Night” by Frank Sinatra on an airplane when he heard the catchy lyrics "scooby dooby doo". Suddenly, a lightbulb flickers on. Why not turn the lead of his "cat show" into a dog? And that's how Scooby Doo was born!

Being Mindful of Holiday Festivities when You Have a Pet! Keep the Feast on the Table! Did you know that some foods that are healthy for us can be harmful to our furry companions? Foods high in fat can be difficult for animals to digest. In addition, certain foods such as onions, raisins, and grapes can be poisonous to our pets. If you plan on sharing a Thanksgiving treat with your pet, be sure to make or purchase a treat that is specially made for them with love.
A Word of Caution: Watch Out for Tinsel and Your Feline Friends! Cats and kittens love to play with strings and ribbons, but this can sometimes lead to tangled or chewed-up Christmas decorations! To keep your kitties safe during the holidays, it's best to avoid using tinsel on your holiday trees, as they can easily become tangled and your cat may become ill if they eat any. However, if you still choose to use string or tinsel, be sure to keep a close eye on your feline friend to make sure they don't get into any trouble!
Chocolate is for Humans Only! It's no secret that chocolate is a beloved treat for many people and pets alike. But what your furry companion doesn't know is that it can be extremely harmful to them. To keep your pet safe, it's best to avoid giving them any chocolate and instead, keep the delicious plate of chocolate chip cookies on the counter for only humans to eat!
