On behalf of the HRC Atlanta Steering Committee and our Dinner Committee, welcome to the 2022 HRC Atlanta Dinner and Auction. Tonight, as we look forward to what is truly possible in Georgia, we thank you for coming back to the table. This Dinner is significant for many reasons. It’s the first time we’ve gathered together since COVID-19 swept the globe. It’s the first time we’ve gathered together since the death of George Floyd forced us to, once again, collectively grapple with our country’s history of racism and inequality. And it’s the first time we’ve gathered together since electing two proequality US Senators to represent the state of Georgia. While the journey back to this room tonight has not been easy, the resilience of the LGBTQ+ community continues to persevere. 2020 demonstrated that we are an influential and engaged collective. Even in the midst of a pandemic, we were out in force to elect pro-equality candidates up and down the ballot. We demonstrated against and defeated most of the anti-LGBTQ+ bills introduced in state legislatures. But, we cannot stop here. The 2022 midterm election is a meaningful opportunity to turn Georgia from a deep purple to bright blue. We have the opportunity to elect Stacey Abrams as our next governor and the nation’s first Black female governor. We also have the chance to solidify our power in the Senate and finally pass The Equality Act, ensuring basic freedoms and protections for every LGBTQ+ American. So much is riding on the actions we take after leaving this ballroom tonight. That is why we need you to join the Fight. Fight for pro-equality politicians; Fight for passage of The Equality Act; and fight back against hateful, anti-LGBTQ+ legislation. There are many ways to be a part of HRC. Volunteer and Fed Club information are at each table. So we ask you: How will you Join the Fight? Thank you to our Dinner Committee volunteers. This event would not be possible without their talent and dedication. Thank you to our fellow Atlanta Steering Committee volunteers who continued to work tirelessly to advance equality during a global pandemic. Thank you to our Federal Club members and major donors who ensured the work of HRC is well funded. But most of all, we thank you for being here to support the mission of HRC.

Yours in Equality, Michael Cabe & Katie Christof 2022 HRC Atlanta Dinner & Auction Co-Chairs

Good evening, It is a pleasure to welcome the Human Rights Campaign to Georgia for its 34th Human Rights Campaign Atlanta Dinner & Auction. It is a privilege to host you in our great state. For decades, the Human Rights Campaign has been a tireless and effective advocate for LGBTQ+ Americans — fighting on behalf of a community that is too often told they do not belong. As the daughter of two Methodist ministers, I was taught that my faith should be a shield to protect others, not a sword to strike them down. I am proud to be an ally who worked with Democrats, independents, Republicans and the business community to stop discriminatory legislation from being adopted in Georgia. As governor, I will work to ensure that Georgia is a safe, inclusive and welcoming place for the LGBTQ+ community to live, work and visit. I am committed to building One Georgia — a state that welcomes and protects the LGBTQ+ community. A state where we celebrate our diversity because it makes us stronger and where we give every Georgian, regardless of zip code, background, who they love or how they identify, the opportunity to thrive. Enjoy the event. Sincerely, Stacey Abrams

2022 LEON ALLEN AND WINSTON JOHNSON AWARD

The HRC Atlanta Steering Committee and members of the Board of Governors congratulate Spelman College on being the recipient of the 2022 Leon Allen and Winston Johnson Award. Founded in 1881, Spelman College is America’s oldest private historically Black liberal arts college for women. Now a global leader in the education of women, Spelman empowers its students to engage the many cultures of the world and inspires a commitment to positive social change through service. This commitment has grown to extraordinary work in advocating for LGBTQ+ students. In 2017, Spelman College president Mary Schmidt Campbell announced the institution will accept students in the 2018 school year, who “consistently live and self-identify as women, regardless of their gender assignment at birth.” The decision was informed by a task force convened by the president to develop a policy recommendation regarding the consideration of admission eligibility and enrollment of transgender students. The institution was also informed by leaders from the HRC Foundation’s HBCU program. Spelman’s announcement to open admissions and enrollment to transgender students is considered a big step for transgender awareness and equality. It also led the way for neighboring Morehouse College to review and accept a policy to include admissions and enrollment to transgender men in 2019. Additionally, Spelman announced a scholarship program for its students who advocate for LGBTQ+ issues. The Levi Watkins Jr. Scholars Program calls attention to the courageous and significant work of LGBTQ+ scholar activists within HBCUs. The college also hosted its inaugural Lavender Brunch in 2019. The event, during their homecoming weekend, celebrated the LGBTQ community on campus and queer alumnae. The keynote speaker was Leslie Hall, Director of HRC’s HBCU Program. These major leaps further the education and opportunities for Black transgender women, the most vulnerable of our community. Spelman College is a great candidate for the Leon Allen & Winston Johnson Community Leadership Award for equipping the next generation of Black LGBTQ+ leaders with, in the words of their motto, a choice to change the world.

About the Award Leon Allen and Winston Johnson were two of the original committee members for the first and second HRC dinners in Atlanta. As longtime civicrights activists, they became close friends with Coretta Scott King, and helped her use her high public profile to advocate for the rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) people. Because of their efforts, Mrs. King became the keynote speaker at the HRC dinner in New YorkCity in 1986 and one of the LGBTQ community’s strongest allies until her death in 2006. Leon and Winston were together for 42 years untilLeon’s death two weeks after Mrs. King’s passing. The Human Rights Campaign Atlanta Steering Committee presents this award each year to the individual or group who offers distinguished service and leadership to the LGBTQ communities. This award recognizes the outstanding efforts of those who dedicate not only substantial time and energy, but also spirit and wholehearted commitment to advance the fight for our civil rights.

2022 DAN BRADLEY HUMANITARIAN AWARD Dr. Isabel Lowell and QMed

The HRC Atlanta Steering Committee and members of the Board of Governors congratulate Dr. Isabel Lowell and QMed on being the recipient of the 2022 Dan Bradley Humanitarian Award. Dr. Isabel Lowell grew up in Massachusetts, where she attended Williams College, followed by the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. She completed her Family Medicine residency in Lawrence, MA, where she learned to speak Spanish through caring for the primarily Dominican patient population. She moved to Atlanta in 2013 and joined the faculty at Emory University, where she started the Gender Clinic at Emory. While working at Emory, she completed an MBA at the Goizueta School of Business, graduating first in her class. Dr. Lowell is driven by a sense of fairness and equality. She was drawn to do her residency in Lawrence, MA, for the opportunity to serve an underserved population. After moving to Atlanta, she realized that there are very limited options for trans* people to get medical care. “I met several trans people in this area who told me they couldn’t find a doctor who would treat them, not even for basic medical issues. As I started learning about hormone therapy and transgender medicine, I began to realize just how big the need is for trans care in the Southeast.” Dr. Lowell has attended conferences and worked with experts around the country to learn more about transgender medicine. She is a member of World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), Gay and Lesbian Medical Association (GLMA), and gives lectures regularly to educate other medical providers and students about transgender medicine.

About the award As one of the founders of Human Rights Campaign Fund in 1980, the late Dan Bradley distinguished himself through his career as a courageous champion of civil rights. As president of the Legal Services Corporation, Dan was the highest-ranking Presidential appointee ever to acknowledge his homosexuality. That act of bravery set the stage for an impressive string of national media appearances and Dan’s leadership on the boards of many national and local organizations. Dan was the inspiration behind the historic June 1, 1987 demonstration at the White House and proudly led 64 gay and lesbian leaders to jail in a symbolic act of civil disobedience. This award is bestowed upon an individual or group who continues Dan Bradley’s tradition of activism and service to the LGBTQ community

Greetings! On behalf of the Atlanta City Council and the citizens of Atlanta, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 34th Annual Atlanta Human Rights Campaign Gala Dinner & Silent Auction. It is with great anticipation that the event returns to live and in person after a two year virtual hiatus. As the country’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered Americans, HRC continues to play an integral role in improving the lives of LGBT people both nationally and locally. I am a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. I am especially proud to join three other openly LGBTQ+ members on Atlanta City Council this year. The city has made great progress toward equality over the past decade; however, our work is not yet complete. My participation in HRC shows me firsthand the impact the organization and its supporters make every single day on the lives of all LGBT Americans. As we enjoy this wonderful evening and celebrate all that makes our community special, I strongly urge you to reaffirm your passion and commitment to HRC – whether by becoming a member for the first time, stepping up your financial support, or volunteering your time and skills in advocacy and service. Please accept my warmest regards and best wishes as we share this special occasion together.

Sincerely,

We are the Cradle of the Civil Rights Movement, the epicenter of culture, and the LGBTQ capital of the American South. We proudly celebrate all who choose to call our city home, and we remain the “City Too Busy To Hate.” The City of Atlanta is committed to the fair treatment of all Atlantans, which includes our lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer residents and visitors. We have made significant gains toward the protection and advancement of Atlanta’s LGBTQ community, and strive to uphold our commitment to equality every day. Atlanta has had the proud distinction of having a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign’s Municipal Equality Index for nine consecutive years. We are proud of our longstanding partnership with the HRC. As a Councilmember, I was a proud supporter and collaborator of the work of the Mayor’s Division of LGBTQ Affairs, and the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. Through the work of the Mayor’s Division of LGBTQ Affairs, the City of Atlanta is an international leader in municipal LGBTQ engagement. Welcome to the 34th Human Rights Campaign Atlanta Dinner & Auction! Greetings: It is a pleasure to extend the warmest regards and best wishes to celebrate the 34th Annual Gala hosted by the Human Rights Campaign. I was the first openly gay state legislator elected in 2001 in the Deep South. Since then, I have proudly served with eight LGBTQ State Representatives – and one State Senator creating the largest Equality Caucus in our region. I would personally like to thank HRC for its tireless advocacy. I beam with pride in what we have accomplished in our shared goals of representation, equality, and justice for all. During my time in the legislature, I have fought against prohibiting gay-straight alliances, gay adoption, gay scouts, religious freedom, the constitutional ban on same-sex marriage, and other anti-gay measures. These anti-gay initiatives are increasing at an alarming rate, from “Don’t Say Gay” to not allowing transgender athletes to participate in sports. Now more than ever, the work of HRC and the unwavering commitment of all of you here tonight are critical in winning the battles that lie before us. In closing, tonight, we pause, reflect, and celebrate our progress, and tomorrow we continue to move equality forward. Love and Light,

Karla L. Drenner, Ph.D. State Representative

May 7, 2022 RE: 34th HRC Atlanta Dinner & Auction It is a pleasure to welcome attendees and distinguished guests to the 34th HRC Dinner and Auction in Atlanta, Georgia. I want to take this opportunity to thank HRC for 40 years of service in promoting equity for all Americans. Your commitment and work to ensure that trans, people of color, and HIV-positive individuals have global access to healthcare is second to none. As an out legislator and member of the LGBTQ+ community, I am proud to stand with HRC in continuing the work of promoting fairness and equity. Now more than ever, we must continue to expand HRC's work in ensuring fundamental freedoms and protections for every American in every state. More than 250 anti-LGBTQ+ bills were introduced in states this year. Sadly only 24 were enacted! On a more positive note, HRC’s campaigns are focused on mobilizing those who envision a world strengthened by diversity, where our laws and society treat all people with respect and dignity, including LGBTQ+ people and those who are marginalized. On behalf of the City of Atlanta, I extend best wishes for a festive and successful gala. The Atlanta City Council appreciates your service and looks forward to building stronger partnerships with HRC and the LGBTQ+ community represented.

Greetings! I am pleased to welcome attendees to the 34th Annual Human Rights Campaign Atlanta Dinner & Auction. It is my great pleasure to join each of you this evening as we celebrate our progress toward representation and equality here in Atlanta and beyond. I am deeply grateful for each of your support of the Human Rights Campaign, and your continued commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community. As the first out, non-binary, queer Muslim elected official in the State of Georgia, I know about the hard work and persistence it takes to push boundaries and shatter ceilings as we fight for a brighter and more inclusive future here in the South. I am honored to join the Human Rights Campaign, and my three fellow LGBTQIA+ colleagues on the Atlanta City Council, in recognizing the trailblazers and advocates who continue to push for progress toward LGBTQIA+ equality. As we celebrate tonight, I invite you to reflect on those who came before us, paving the way for a more equitable and just world for LGBTQIA+ people; but beyond that, I encourage you to acknowledge all of the work left to be done. We have come so far, but we have plenty left ahead. Thank you to the Human Rights Campaign and their leadership, and to each of you for all of your contributions to the LGBTQIA+ community. Onward, together. In service,

May 7, 2022 Dear Friends: Welcome to the 34th HRC Atlanta Dinner & Auction! After a long three years, it is wonderful to be back together in person to celebrate the progress made by this wonderful organization—and recommit ourselves to the work still ahead. As a former teacher and school board member here in Atlanta, I am incredibly grateful for HRC’s efforts to support and protect our kids— especially those who have come under increased attack this year by lawmakers here in Georgia and across the country. These last few months have been a vivid reminder of our collective responsibility to build a society where our young people can love themselves for who they are— without denying their identities or questioning their self-worth. As a native Atlantan, I was incredibly proud to be one of the four openly LGBTQ people sworn into Atlanta’s City Council earlier this year. I am honored to be the first openly gay man to hold citywide office in Atlanta. I am excited to work alongside Mayor Andre Dickens and all my Council colleagues to build on the great work done over the last four years by the City of Atlanta’s Division of LGBTQ Affairs. My sincere thanks and appreciation to each of you who work every day to help build an equitable, inclusive, and diverse Atlanta for all who call this incredible city home. Please reach out if I can ever help from City Hall. Best,

May 7, 2022 Greetings: Welcome to the 34th Annual HRC Atlanta Gala! After two years of hunkering down at home to protect ourselves and our neighbors, my husband, Robert, and I are thrilled to be with you again in person. Through our persistence, we have made commendable progress since we last gathered. We have now elected a record number of out candidates to local and state office, increasing LGBTQ representation in public life at a time when it could not be more crucial. Stretching from Hiawassee to Savannah, Georgia now boasts seven out members of the Georgia General Assembly, six out mayors, and no less than 14 local elected officials. As a direct result of this increased representation, fourteen municipalities across Georgia now have non-discrimination ordinances in law, protecting nearly 12 percent of all Georgians. Despite this forward movement, obstacles we must overcome continue to mount. We were not able to prevent anti-LGBTQ legislation from passing through the General Assembly this year. The passage of this amendment, directing the Georgia High School Association to enact policies to potentially bar trans students from playing school sports, has only crystalized what is at stake this election year. Your engagement has perhaps never been more critical. LGBTQ rights will be central to the policy debates this election cycle, and we must show up to make our voices heard. We also have several chances to make history this year, including electing Georgia’s first openly LGBTQ statewide official and the first out constitutional officer in the South. I am grateful to you for being active in defending the rights that belong to you, me, and people we will never meet, especially as I reflect on the wedding my husband and I were able to share this year that would have seemed impossible just a decade ago. Georgia has led the way in the Southern fight for LGBTQ civil rights because of the hard work of HRC Atlanta and you. Keep it up! So many are still depending on us. Yours in service,

Matthew Wilson STATE REPRESENTATIVE

Greetings Friends:

On behalf of Georgia’s Fifth Congressional District, I am pleased to welcome you to the 34 Human Rights Campaign Atlanta Dinner. Tonight’s celebration is extra special because it marks the in-person return of your annual celebration for equality. I hope this moment, connecting with friends and colleagues, brings you joy and energy for the work ahead. th

As a Black woman from the South, I know what it means to be unheard and unprotected. That’s why the movement for LGBTQ+ freedom and protection has long been important to me. First as an advocate, later in the State Senate, and now as a member of Congress. From working with my House colleagues to pass the Equality Act to introducing legislation that would advance inclusivity for LGBTQ+ individuals, I am fighting in Congress to ensure the promise of America excludes no one. In the face of relentless attacks on the most marginalized people in our community, I am especially grateful to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Human Rights Campaign. Your work has been instrumental in dismantling barriers to LGBTQ equality. I am confident that even through our current struggles, the Human Rights Campaign will continue moving the needle towards full equality for all. While you press forward, I hope you will remember the words of my friend and predecessor, the late Congressman John Lewis: “Our struggle is not the struggle of a day, a week, a month, or a year, it is the struggle of a lifetime. Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble.” I am proud to be an ally in the movement, fighting together for a country that values everyone’s humanity. Yours in Service,

Nikema Williams Member of Congress

April 28, 2022 To the esteemed attendees and hosts of the 34th Human Rights Campaign Atlanta Dinner & Auction, Thank you for who you are. It is an honor to represent LGBTQIA+ Georgians at the Georgia State Capitol every legislative session as a queer Black millennial of faith. Because of you, we are able to promote happiness, reject fear, and strive for equity for our diverse and intersectional communities. Please stay in touch with me as I am also the youngest legislator in the House of Representatives and there will be significant turnover (at least 51 members changing) as we go back in 2023. This gives us an opportunity to reset and make new connections with legislators to continue to help LGBTQIA+ folks through policymaking. As I write this letter, the governor is signing HB 1084 into law which makes the Georgia High School Association take a stance on the participation of transgender girls in sports. When this measure was quickly debated on the floor, I made the “Motion to Reconsider” and will continue to engage myself in the next steps of this divisive law’s enactment. I invite you to become more familiar with the Georgia High School Association and to make it your project to ensure that they listen to, respect, and do not discriminate against transgender students. If I may assist you, my committees are above and my leadership positions are below: Secretary of the Atlanta Delegation Secretary of the House Democratic Caucus Chair of the Affordable Housing Committee We are proud to have appropriated $300k for our PreP pilot program, to have honored 40 years of AHF, to have passed our bipartisan HIV decriminalization bill and to have defeated the anti-LGBTQ adoption bill. Remember, we do road renamings, commending resolutions, holiday creations and much more. Stay in touch! Tonight, though, celebrate! We are resilient and dynamic! Representative Park Cannon

May 7, 2022 Welcome to the 34th Human Rights Campaign Atlanta Dinner and Auction! It is my honor and privilege to welcome you to the 34th Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Atlanta Dinner and Auction! HRC’s Annual Dinner is a celebration of the great strides we have made in fighting for human rights and the equality of all, and a reminder of the work that remains to be done to live up to the promise of America. As the first openly gay man elected to the Georgia State Legislature, I was provided the opportunity to serve because of women and people of color who broke barriers for me and countless others. Leaders in Georgia like Cathy Woolard, Karla Drenner, Simone Bell, Park Cannon, Renitta Shannon, Alex Wan, and Matthew Wilson broke barriers and are continuing the hard work of paving the way for the next generation of LGBTQ leaders. In partnership with organizations like HRC and supporters like you, we have the power to ensure all members of our LGBTQ family have the freedom to thrive and are treated with equal dignity and respect. Together, we have made progress in the State of Georgia – the cradle of the civil rights movement. In 2004, the Georgia State Constitution was amended to prohibit same-sex marriage. Ten years later, same-sex marriage became the law of the land. Along with recognizing and reaffirming the equal dignity of LGBTQ Americans, we fought and we won the constitutional right to marry the person we love. As a member of the largest LGBTQ Legislative Caucus in the South, we will continue to fight for our rights and overcome the challenges we face to make progress for our community by building and strengthening our diverse coalition. So tonight, let us celebrate the progress we have made and stand firm in our commitment to human rights and equality. Tomorrow, let us stand united in common purpose and get back to the hard work of continuing the march toward freedom, equality, and justice for all. Yours in service,

Rep. Sam Park Chair, Gwinnett Delegation Deputy Whip, Democratic Caucus Georgia State Representative

May 7, 2022 Welcome, As the Representative of Georgia’s 7th Congressional District, it is my distinct honor to congratulate the Human Rights Campaign as you celebrate the 34th Annual Human Rights Campaign Atlanta Gala. I am pleased to welcome attendees from across the country and hope you enjoy the great state of Georgia during your visit. We are here today because we all believe that no person in this country should face discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity. By standing with and supporting the Human Rights Campaign, we are taking a crucial step in fighting for equality and freedom. It is a universal truth that people should not be denied fundamental human rights because of who they love or how they express themselves. When we come together as a community, there is nothing that we can’t do. With your help, we will ensure that the American Dream is attainable for everyone, not just some of us. The Human Rights Campaign has spent decades fighting on behalf of LGBTQ+ Americans, and I am honored to work alongside them. By educating, organizing, and mobilizing the diverse communities in Georgia, we will overcome aversion and secure protections for our most vulnerable communities. I have spent my entire life in public service fighting for equal protections for all Americans, and I will continue to be an advocate for LGBTQ+ Americans in Georgia and throughout the country. Yours,

Carolyn Bourdeaux Member of Congress

May 7th, 2022 Greetings! It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 34th Annual Atlanta Human Rights Campaign Gala & Auction. As Alabama's only LGBTQ State Representative, I am excited about the work HRC does to improve the lives of the citizens of Alabama and the country. From the work of Project One America in my state to the advocacy at the Federal level, HRC is an important voice for LGBTQ Alabamians. The work we must do in Alabama is crucial. As we have seen so vividly in the last legislative session in Alabama, the struggles of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community continue to seem overwhelming. Transgender and non-binary people are your neighbors, co-workers, family members and friends. And when you or your friends and family are the targets of hate, violence and discrimination, you act. The Human Rights Campaign is actively working to advocate for the rights and lives of the transgender and non-binary community–but we all must do more–can we count you in? As LGBTQ+ people and allies, we have a responsibility to fight for EVERYONE in our movement. Now is the time to get loud, get visible, and spread awareness on behalf of transgender and non-binary people. So please take the actions below–but don’t stop there. The more people who show they care, including allies and trans and non-binary people who speak up for the most marginalized in our community, the more hearts and minds we will change.

State legislatures are attacking LGBTQ+ folks, particularly trans people, left and right. Show antiequality legislators that we won’t tolerate any more bullying and discrimination.

OUR PRIDE FLIES NONSTOP. At Alaska, we are longtime supporters of the LGBTQ+ community and remain committed to a more equitable society.

WHAT WE DO The Human Rights Campaign is America’s largest civil rights organization working for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer equality. Since 1980, we have been fighting for a better future for LGBTQ+ Americans. We are now working tirelessly to pass the Equality Act, which will soon head to the U.S. Senate for consideration, fight back against a multitude of anti-LGBTQ+ legis-lation in states nationwide and ensure everyone in our community is treated with dignity and respect. While our opponents are emboldened and on the attack, the Human Rights Campaign and our grass-roots army of more than 3.2 million members and supporters are energetically defending the rights we’ve gained and ramping up our fight for full equality across the board.

ANTI-EQUALITY LEADERS AND LEGISLATION

The alarming spate of anti-LGBTQ+ bills introduced across the country in 2020 has continued to surge in 2021. These include bills that would prohibit transgender youth from receiving genderaffirming care and bills that would prohibit transgender youth from participating in sports. This wave of anti-transgender legislation harkens back to the surge of anti-transgender bathroom bills that hit state legislatures in 2016, including North Carolina’s HB2. We remain committed to aggressively fighting these threats to equality by those who seek to undermine our rights. HRC will do whatever it takes to protect the rights and fundamental equality of every LGBTQ+ person in this country.

BUILDING AND DEMONSTRATING POLITICAL POWER

HRC’s decades-long work to build political power has uniquely positioned us to reach LGBTQ+ and ally voters who prioritize equality on the ballot, also known as Equality Voters. HRC has identified 57 million Equality Voters nationwide who, if they turn out to vote, will support pro-equality candidates. HRC’s early and sustained year-round engagement in battleground states like Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin bolstered historic turnout in 2018 and 2020 producing pro-equality outcomes at every level of government. In 2019, HRC’s mobilization of Equality Voters in Virginia, where lawmakers had repeatedly blocked proequality bills over many years, produced groundbreaking progress for LGBTQ+ Americans in the South. These victories led to the Virginia Values Act becoming law, making Virginia the first state in the South to advance statewide nondiscrimination protections for LGBTQ+ people.

ADVANCING EQUALITY IN OUR DAILY LIVES

The HRC Foundation improves the lives LGBTQ+ people by building understanding and shaping the public debate of LGBTQ+ people and the challenges they face through innovative research and public education campaigns. We also change the policies and practices in the institutions that shape our everyday lives (hospitals, schools, workplaces, and more) and empower strategic partners, community advocates, and allies through convenings and capacity-building. Guided by these theories of change and seeking to prioritize work impacting those who are multiply marginalized, we have 11 cuttingedge programs advancing equality in the U.S. and beyond.

All Children - All Families is the only national program

dedicated to LGBTQ+ inclusion in child welfare (foster care and adoption agencies) that provides resource development, technical assistance and training.

Public Education & Research produces written resources and conducts original quantitative and qualitative research exploring the lived experiences of LGBTQ+ people. Global Partnerships provides capacity-building and leadership development opportunities to LGBTQ+ advocates from around the world to strengthen movements and advance global LGBTQ+ equality. HBCU Program is the only national project that partners with Historically Black Colleges and Universities on establishing an LGBTQ+-inclusive campus climate. Health & Aging provides resources and training to help thousands of healthcare facilities adopt inclusive policies and practices to better serve LGBTQ+ patients and employees. HIV & Health Equity develops public education and capacitybuilding programs to address the disproportionate impact of HIV on Black and Latinx communities. Religion & Faith provides faith leaders with opportunities

and tools to stand up for equality even as opponents attempt to weaponize faith against LGBTQ+ people.

Transgender Justice Initiative leads economic empowerment programs, capacity-building initiatives, community engagement efforts, and public safety education campaigns that combat the discrimination faced by transgender people. Welcoming Schools is the only bias-based bullying prevention program in the nation to provide LGBTQ+-specific training and resources with an intersectional lens, developed for use in elementary schools. Workplace Equality advances equality for LGBTQ+ workers through the adoption and implementation of inclusive policies, practices, and benefits in the U.S. and beyond.

Youth Well-Being provides professional development to over 5,000 youth-serving professionals annually, through the annual Time to THRIVE conference, webinars, participation at major national convenings, and by amplifying the stories of HRC Youth Ambassadors. The program also convenes HRC’s Parents for Transgender Equality Council. Updated 10-26-2021
