Tony- and Grammy-Nominated Jaquel Spivey garnered extraordinary accolades for his professional debut in the tour-de-force role of ‘Usher’ in the Broadway production of Michael R. Jackson’s 2020 Pulitzer Prize winning musical: A STRANGE LOOP. This universally acclaimed musical marks the first written by an African-American person to win the Pulitzer, and the first ever to win the award without a prior Broadway run. Spivey is the recipient of 2022 Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Theater World Awards.

Jaquel next stars as “Damian” opposite Angourie Rice, Renee Rapp, and Auil’i Cravalho in the MEAN GIRLS Movie Musical, directed by Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr for Paramount Players. The movie is an adaptation of the 2018 Broadway musical based on Tina Fey’s hit 2004 movie, both of the same name.

Jaquel is a 2021 graduate of Point Park University.
