Santa Claus Days in Watson are December 2-3 and it will be an exciting day for all. The fun will begin on December 2 with numerous different activities for young and old to enjoy. Tree House Treasures, formally known as St. Benedict Stain Glass, will start out the fun at New Horizons at 4 p.m. There will also be Christmas pudding and poinsettias for sale at New Horizons. The next big event will start at 6 p.m. with the Amazing Santa Race — open to parents and children. From 6:30 to 8 p.m., children can head down to the CIBC to have their photo taken with Santa Claus. Head down to the Advantage Credit Union between 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. with your creative Christmas house or ornaments and get your name entered to win a mystery prize.

Also, Grade 6 students and younger should not forget to enter their colouring contest. All participants will receive a treat and an entry into a draw for a $25 Mastercard giftcard. There will be hot apple cider and cookies to whet their appetite as well. At 7 p.m., the Turkey Shoot will begin at the Watson Civic Centre. Sleigh Rides will also be running from 7 to 9 p.m. The route will go from Hi-way Mart down to Wood Bin Gallery, then onto Pharmasave and Red Poppy, finishing at Frederick Family Chiropractic Centre. There will be many other events going on, including kids games and crafts, cake walk, fish pond and a bonfire at the Civic Centre. Smokies and hot dogs will be available. Participating stores will be open until 8:30 p.m. and the evening will finish off with a fireworks display at the old elementary school grounds at 9 p.m.
The event will start up again on December 3, with a pancake breakfast from 7:30 to 10 a.m., sponsored by McNab Park. There will be a family skate, cupcake decorating and crafts from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Watson Arena, sponsored by the Watson Recreation Board. A magic show with Anthony Hanson from Hadlen Magic will be put on at the Watson High School Gym at 2:30 p.m. Hanson is a world-class performer whose astonishing premier acts combine magnificent high-level Illusions, mind-blowing hypnosis and state-ofthe-art mind reading. A born entertainer, Hanson’s interest in this unique art form began as a child and continued to grow until finally taking the leap from apprentice to professional in 2006. After the magic show, children will receive a visit from Santa, who will be handing out goodie bags, and have another opportunity for a sleigh ride after the show. Supper with Santa will start at 5 p.m. with entertainment and food served at 6 p.m. When Santa arrives at supper, he will cut the 80th anniversary cake.
