Gajar Halwa Recipe
Bring some color to your dinner table by making this sweet gajar halwa for dessert!
Ingredients:
1 kg carrots 1 ½ litre milk 8 green cardamoms 7 tbsp ghee 7 tbsp sugar 2 tbsp raisins 1 tbsp almonds, shredded 2 tbsp dates, chopped
Instructions:
Peel and grate the carrots. Mix the milk and cardamoms and heat the mixture on a stove. Once the milk heats up, turn the flame to low and stir in the carrots. Allow the mixture to simmer until the liquid evaporates. In a heavy pan, heat the ghee. Then, add the carrot mixture. Cook over a low flame, stirring gently for fifteen minutes. Then, stir in the sugar and cook until the mixture turns deep red. Remove it from the stove, stir in the dried fruits and serve!
