Sig-Ep’s Annual Haunted House to Benefit Big Brothers, Big Sisters of the Tri-State
Marshall University Fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon poses for their annual haunted house which strives to raise awareness and money for Big Brothers, Big Sisters of the Tri-State. The haunted house cost $5 for one walk through, and one 100 percent of the proceeds go to BBBSTS. Not only do the fraternity members act and operate the haunted house, but also local volunteers. Many students and alumni participate to help raise awareness and funds for the organization. BBBSTS serves children facing adversity through a community based program and a school-based mentoring program.

Sig-Ep Vice President Jarren Johnson is the vice-president and a four-year member of the fraternity. He is a participant of the BBBSTS program where he spends up to two hours a week with his “little brother�. At the haunted house he acts as a mad magician who not only cuts the deck of cards, but also his assistant for his final act.

Friendly Volunteer Rachel Mullen is a volunteer who participates in the haunted house. She is a friend of the fraternity, and helps because she has a love for becoming new characters. She often attends cosplay and Comic-con conventions dressed as different characters with the accompa

haunted house was the doll, she has taken on many other personas during one of her favorite hobbies; participating in cosplay and Comic-con conventions.

The doll herself nurtures her own baby doll, who has a few injuries from a mysterious accident. The possessed doll finds tour guests on the second floor and begs them to stay and play with her. Before you see her skipping down the hallway, you can hear the echo
of her eerie voice singing “Ring Around the Rosie�. The doll has a fuzzy friend she plays with too. When she was younger she played with her stuffed baby bunny, but as they grew up he became the bloody bunny. Together, they roam the house and taunt the guests in hopes that maybe one day someone will chose to stay and play with them forever.

Stacy Parsley, junior PR major, is ready to pull the trigger on victims that are brave enough to tour the haunted house. She plays the gangster clown during some
tours, and Gale the house ghost during others. Her second character Gale, is based on a true aberration that been seen throughout the house by all who live there.

Magician’s Assistant
Chloe Lightner Sig-Ep Sweetheart
Chloe Lightner is a “SigEp Sweetheart” who volunteers for many of the fraternity’s charitable events. She is a junior advertising major with a marketing minor from Marshall University.
Chloe Lightner, junior advertising major, brings a new meaning to ‘drop-dead gorgeous’ as the magician’s assistant. She is the victim to a Mad Magician.
During the haunted house she acts as the lovely magician’s assistant who gets hacked in half for the grand finale of his show. Before her gruesome demise she takes part in other magic acts as well. The majority of their tricks revolve around his bloody deck of cards. Nobody knows whether the cards themselves are magic, or if the magician can actually tap into the minds of his victims.

Chris Johnson, sophomore engineering major, is another member of the gangster clown posse who scares parents and students alike throughout the house. His favorite props are his grimacing smile, and a sword.
M any of the tour guests were not only interested in the haunted house for its connection with the kids in the community, but also for its connection to Marshall University. Several visitors were sons and daughters of Marshall themselves and said they were proud to see a campus organization giving
