Designers’ Showcase Pulse London 2015
London based Hu+ Collective represents a collection of unique Hungarian brands, with great stories about connecting to our natural environment, giving back to our communities and bringing new meaning to our heritage. We are delighted to be invited back to Pulse after our first show last year. It is a great honour to be one of the featured areas of the International Design Pavilion. This year our stand is called Hothouse Hungary, inspired by the ‘palm house-like’ building of Olympia, to celebrate the new venue of Pulse. Palm trees and exotic plants create a wonderfully lush environment, filled with the treasures of Hungarian design. The concept comes to Pulse through our collaboration with Budapest based Design Terminal.
Design Terminal is the national center for creative industries in Budapest, Hungary. With the stimulation of digital economy, industrial design and urban planning, our mission is to support value-added local enterprises reaching the global marketplace. Our competition-based, free incubation services include business consultation and mentoring, local and international trade show presence as well as early stage investment mediation. In 2014, Design Terminal was awarded European Enterprise Promotion Awards by the European Commission.
In collaboration with the Jane Goodall Institute, Absoloot’s Extinct Collection of premium notebooks raises the awareness of animal species at the brink of becoming extinct.

onstantly experimenting, Lamoppe ignores the conventions and takes inspiration from her sketches that she doodles all the time. Sometimes the immediate environment provides the best idea, and a half-cut cabbage ends up on a screen-printed pillow. She also loves the challenge of showing the play of light and colour, to describe textures found in nature. Some cushions are printed with high quality sublimation and hand screen-printing technology.

AACRAFT is a design oriented social employment program. Their products are created using the achievements of craft traditions, though their forms they reflect contemporary object culture. In today’s technology-filled and virtual world, “craft” is popular again, in both high and mass cultures. The role of handicraft traditions is also important in contemporary design. This social workshop fits in this trend, and connects the ideas of the designers with the employment of disabled people.

bjects floating lightly in the air, these are the products of ADAMLAMP, whose secret is the lightsome game of geometric and natural forms that play with the imagination. These creatures are based on the play of shadow and light that makes a unique and peculiar phenomenon. Each form is designed and cut digitally, and assembled by hand to produce real character and quality. These lamps draw the attention immediately and dominate every place and space.
T
here is only one rule to the game: create a form by placing the prisms next to each other to form a continuous surface. The designers of LOGIFACES were inspired by 3D modeling softwares, using triangles as basic elements to create complex forms and surfaces. LOGIFACES started out as an idea to bring these complex geometries to a real, non-virtual space. The weight and touch of the concrete material really capture the essence of the game.

eter Toronyi, the Red Dot awarded young product designer’s idea was to create a specific spice mortar, which is able to crush and serve ground paprika, and will be used for generations. Papr!kum not only grinds paprika, but any other kinds of dried spices like fennel, cayenne pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg or star anise, giving us the chance to conjure our own spice cocktails or freshly made spice mixes. Just 5-15 seconds, and the result is a coarse to fine ground seasoning, depending on how strongly Papr!kum is shaken.

ith 15 years of experience in art direction and urban biking, George and Christian designed a multi-functional bag. Their first product, Bigo Bag Five is designed for urban bikers and those, who live their life with passion and flair. They designed a light and convenient bag, which by some quick adjustments can be turned into a rain poncho, a baby sling or a picnic blanket. By zipping together two or more bags it can be turned into a huge carrier. By folding it back to its own pocket it can be also turned into a bum bag.
