August 26-30: OFC NFPA 1041 Fire Instructor 1 Program. This course prepares studentlearners to deliver training effectively by analyzing and applying principles of adult education, assessing learner needs, planning lessons, and conducting evaluations. In-Class Session: 5 days. Cost: $325 (includes lunch each day)

HealthKick Huron workshop & Georgian College courses New programs and courses from Georgian College

Career Connections workshop HealthKick Huron is presenting a Career Connections workshop in July for people considering a career in healthcare. Assistant Team Lead Jenny Van Dorp explains the event is not limited to secondary students but also includes post-secondary students who might already be taking courses in healthcare but want to get a better look at the options available. She adds it’s also open to young people who are considering a career in healthcare but haven’t made up their mind yet. Van Dorp says they’ll have representatives from a wide range of healthcare fields explaining what they do and it will also give students a chance to connect with healthcare providers. The event takes place on July 11 at the Huron East Health Centre and registrations are being accepted now at HealthKick Huron in Seaforth.

Program: Teaching and Training Adults This is designed for people interested in teaching and training in industry and/or in an academic environment. It will develop the skills and knowledge of novices and refine the skills of current practitioners. Both industry trainers and classroom teachers are suitable candidates for Teaching and Training Adults.
