Who We Serve EDUCATION

RESEARCH

Our place-based model of education starts in our island communities and expands across the globe. We provide summer science programs, customized school trips, curricula and classroom support, teacher professional development, and remote learning platforms. With our partner, United People Global, we train over 500 young Sustainability Leaders from over 30 countries and 6 continents.

Our researchers work with the local fishing and aquaculture communities from Stonington to Port Clyde and with researchers from University of Maine, Bigelow Laboratory, Maine Department of Marine Resources and other institutions investigating the waters and ecology of the Gulf of Maine. Our research team maintains a 3.2-acre Experimental Research Aquaculture site off the north end of the island. A sample of higher education institutions we serve includes:
