This project awarded as 'Best Studio Award (East Zone)' in Ethos, Transparence 2015, is a joint effort of 3 member team from IIT Kharagpur during our 3rd year of B.Arch (Hons.). It proposes a design solution that responds to the migrant crisis in Mumbai city and supports the smart city vision of India. The solution involved understanding the affordable housing issue and proposing a ‘community development design strategy’ on principles of ‘live, work & play’.
