Husqvarna Soff-Cut is an ideal system for Ultra Early Entry™ concrete sawing. This technology enables concrete to be cut within the first one or two hours of finishing and before final set.

Husqvarna Soff-Cut provides the best solution for minimizing the risk of random cracking, and it simplifies the working process, compared to conventional sawing.

Husqvarna Soff-Cut range includes seven models with cutting depth from 1 in. to 4 in. powered by engines from 4.4 hp to 25 hp, weighing from 85 lbs to 495 lbs. For optimal production rate, choose the Soff-Cut model suitable for your kind of operation.

The Problem.

As concrete hydrates and begins to set, it develops internal stresses. The objective in controlling shrinkage cracking is to relieve these stresses before they seek their own relief in the form of a random crack.

The Solution.

With the Husqvarna Soff-Cut Ultra Early Entry™ dry-cutting system, joints are sawn in the Green Zone™ – within the first hour or two after finishing. The Husqvarna Soff-Cut technology is based on the combination of the Soff-Cut blade and skid plate. The up-cutting rotation of the blade combines with the skid plate, which applies pressure to the surface to prevent chipping and spalling. Soff-Cut allows you to cut in the Green Zone™ as part of the finishing process, to effectively control shrinkage cracking.

Random cracking is among the most costly and aggravating problems facing concrete contractors.

Green Zone™ The Green Zone™ is the best guarantee for the prevention of random cracks. Stress will be relieved in the form of a crack below the cut, exactly where it should.

Cutting in the Green Zone™ allows a shallower cut, which achieves greater aggregate interlock for a stronger slab and minimizes the amount of joint filler that might be needed.

When cutting, there is little to no airborne dust because the concrete is still hydrating and is not completely set.

This is not only good for the operator’s health, but also for the surrounding environment.

Soff-Cut Saws & Blades Eliminating random cracks can only be achieved through the use of Soff-Cut saws and blades. This is the only system that makes Ultra Early Entry™ cuts during the Green Zone™.

Each Soff-Cut saw is equipped with a patented blade block and an anti-raveling skid plate. It is this technology, along with a Soff-Cut blade, that makes this system distinctive from other "early entry" saws.

Decorative Cuts After the initial Soff-Cut joints have been cut and the concrete is cured, a ProEdge bevel blade may be used to chase the standard joints for a decorative beveled look. The result is a more polished, finished appearance.

Soff-Cut and HiPERFLOOR® The Soff-Cut system can be used in conjunction with Husqvarna’s HiPERFLOOR®.

HiPERFLOOR® is a concrete floor finishing system that enhances the beauty, strength and abrasion of concrete floors while reducing maintenance.

How it works: • The Ultra Early Entry™ cuts can be made by a Soff-Cut saw and blade.

• After the concrete is cured, the HiPERFLOOR® process of grinding and polishing the concrete can be started.

• Once the HiPERFLOOR® process has concluded, the original Soff-Cut joints can be chased and additional cuts made with a ProEdge bevel blade to create a decorative pattern.

The finished result is a concrete floor that is highly abrasion-resistant, incredibly dense, smooth and visually appealing.

ACI Recognition Husqvarna’s Soff-Cut system is recognized by the American Concrete Institute (ACI).

The ACI’s ‘Guide for Concrete Floor and Slab Construction’ (ACI 302-96) states the effectiveness of early entry dry-cut sawing. “The timing of the early entry process, allows joints to be placed prior to the development of significant tensile stresses in the concrete.”
