Bobulele keeps it quirky and simple with his ode to the commode, “Outhouse.” 10) Blue Axis is bringing the blues with this funky original song, “Get Down,” off their album “The Axis is Blue.” 11) Keeping it real and bringing a message is David Kelley with his inspirational song “Exchange Me.” 12) Nova Theory is the brainchild of ex-Adrina Chrone guitarist Chris Beard. HESSTON SERIES GETS NEW ACTS BY THE BEE STAFF
The Prairie Window Concert Series is returning for a seventh year to Dyck Arboretum of the Plains in Hesston. The performances offer a mix of music and locally sourced gourmet food in a
prairie garden setting. Most concerts occur on Sundays at the botanical gardens starting at 4 p.m., with a few exceptions. Included in the 201516 lineup are: 10 String Symphony, Oct. 18; Clair Lynch Band, Nov. 1; Tim O’Brien with Old Man Luedecke, 7 p.m. Nov. 11; Mark Erelli, Dec. 6; Betse Ellis and Ike Sheldon, Jan. 17; Lindsay Lou & The Flatbellys, Feb. 21; Matt and Shannon Heaton, March 6; and a special performance at the Orpheum Theatre in Wichita featuring The Steel Wheels on May 1. Tickets are available now, with early-bird discounts on season passes in place through September. Facility members receive a 10 percent discount on all purchases.
