The aurora of art & creativity have always surrounded me since school days; the place where I learn puppet making and theatre plays, painting and drawing. It became a tool to express the imagination. To pursue graduation in Interior Design was merely the outcome of that continuous flux that allows to see the beauty beyond the reality

RETAIL-STORE DESIGN “The sirens sings so sweetly that she lulls the mariners to sleep; then she climbs upon the ship and kills them” LEORNADO DA VINCI 5

The black- the darkness- is merely nothing but absence of light. We see black when the spectrum of light waves is absorbed by the object, whereas we see ‘white’ as white colored when the spectrum of light gets reflected. The black cannot absorb white, they repel each other. But if a color of visible spectrum is placed against the black, it will change it’s visibility as ifit looses it’s ‘ indivisuality. While white does the opposite.

song to the siren tim buckley

I did all my best to smile. ‘til your singing eyes and fingers drew me loving into your eyes and you sang ‘sail to me’ ‘sail to me’ let me enfold you. Here I’m; here I’m waiting to hold you. .......I’m puzzled as the newborn child, I’m as riddled as a tide Should I stand amid breakers? or should I lie with death my bride Hear me sing “Swim to me; swim to me” let me enfold you Here I’m; here I’m waiting to hold you

Darkness is drawn to light, but light doesn’t know it; light must absorb the darkness and therefore meet its own extinguishmen. EDNA O’ BRIEN

Her voice was the unknown force, ForM deVelopMent luring and seducing him into it’s galaxy, captivating him with it’s gravity. His resistance is useless, gently holding him down, it squeezes him with it’s gravity. To translate the idea of the ‘thin mist’ and it’s association with the word ‘lure’, into a form; I observed objects that depict similar metaphoric character. Pile of papers/ books, when rolled, gives a collection of fine thin non-linear lines, curling in and outwards at distant points on the same plane. Drop of ink in water, the diffusion process when seen closely, produces non-linear thin line patterns similar to the thin air/smoke. Taking a rectangular plane and transforming into an organic form and then extruding it to a 2’ height to give it a volume and slicing it into thin strips with equal 7/8” spacing. The top surface is made using thin plywood sheets molded into the described shape and the strips made of metal with matteblack finish.

“God doesn’t play dice with the universe “ - Einstein The nature follows set of principles and laws. The regular course of nature is set to a natural constant change. The reverse unnatural process against the laws and principles, may cause destructive outcomes. The concept can be related to the Sir Iqbal’s poetry verses.

Science explains how we percieve an object’s color: white as white, and black as black, i.e. when all wavelengths from the spectrum is absorbed by the object, we percieve it as a ‘black object’ whereas the reflection of all wavelengths makes it white. The sculptural model depicts the un-natural condition: the pixel of color are reflected outwards from the black object, and the object is in the state of destruction.

By contemplation, the notion of ‘time’ can be translated as: unjust, space, scar, stream, line, trap, prison, arrow and unstable etc. The abstract form of the table clock then describes the notion of ‘time’ metphorically: the pointed-sharp edges, unbalanced form gives the impression of how time is associated with ‘unjust’, prison, scar etc.

THE WORKSHOP “.....the

legacies. Yet the legitimacy of the arts is today a matter of controversy in contemporary

Muslim societies.”KAMIL KHAN MUMTAZ 27

Typically, the object from a specific position fills our entire field of vision defines the ‘universe‘ of discourse. As if to say that what we behold, the created universe is one and finite. The diversity of elements within the frame reflects the diversity within unity. The symmetrical arrangements and the geometric harmonies and proportions remind us that this universe was created in perfect balance, in perfect order.

RESIDENTIAL DESIGN “What’s nice about concrete is that it looks unfinished.” ZAHA HADID 31

To design a residential space for a THEORITICAL PHYSICIST by interweaving the connotation of disintegrating heavenly bodies and curiosity.

33

Looking to the wide canvas of the magnificent universe, one finds himself surrounded by the aurora of wonders, seen but are unkown, and not seen but is known. His curiousity is infinite, but finite before the ever expanding universe. The falling stars and disintegrating bodies fuels his astonishment, making him think, postulate, and THINK AGAIN

Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder what makes the universe exist. BE CURIOUS! STEPHEN HAWKINGS

design strategy

By contemplation and observation of how a physicist observes and understands the world around him; looking up to the stars, finding solutions to the most complex problems in the gleam of the dark space, I then translate those characteristics and actions of the physicist into the design: • sharp edged form symbolise the mountains • pinch of light through metal tubes & the aqua colored lights dictates the falling star • concrete and wood gives a feeling of the natural environment • the slanted wall symbolises the physicist looking at the stars through the telescope

35

Every atom in your body came from a star that exploded. And, the atoms in your left hand probably came from a different star than your right hand. It really is the most poetic thing I know about physics: You are all stardust. You couldn’t be here if stars hadn’t exploded........ LAWRENCE M. KRAUSS

SHY I tremble, I shake It can’t be faked I choke, I shutter my worlds’ melting like butter They stare, I stare back can’t they give me some slack? I am falling apart, being seeing like this it’s just something that no one can miss Tears prick my eyes seeing that I’ve no disguise I stand there still not daring to let them spill Feeling alone and out place this is something that everyone must face by danielle

HOPE The things I’ve seen will scar me for life growing up I’ve seen wrong and very little right Those that were standing by my side Fading away slowly from my sight Life is not easy and it’s sure not fair Now I’ve to bloom Where now everything is doomed For I’m the only hope on the land of dispair
